Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Another peaceful day, a bright sun hanging amongst the blue sky, a few white clouds dotting the sky. It almost seemed like the work of a skilled artist, and there was the possibility that it was. The position of the yellow orb noted at being noon, then again, the summer sun lasted longer in the sky than normal. It had been way too long since Jinjo just went ahead and enjoyed a day without constantly looking over his shoulders. Apparently the hunters had stopped somewhere on the edge of Imythess, maybe they came across some large creature or another that swallowed them whole. The thought just brightened the pandaren’s day that much more.

As he wandered pretty much without destination around the village, watching the people wander around with a smile on his bear-like face, his thirst grew. And from what he had heard, one of the best places to quench one’s thirst was the Green gryphon, the primary inn of the village of Kellan. It wasn’t hard to find the building, just follow the sounds of a party. The size of the inn did not disappoint the pandaren as he gaze about the building from just outside of the entrance, the shields on his back shimmering a bit of silver, and then somebody came flying through the window.

He shook his head and gave a light sigh, soon replaced by a light chuckle. Of course, even on the brightest and sunniest of days, somebody had to start a fight somewhere, and that somewhere just happened to be here. Oh well, it was just the pandaren’s luck. It only took him a moment to have the shields strapped to his forearms. They were an incomplete couple of weapons, missing the final part, but their length still did well in place of a normal hand weapon.

He entered through into the Green Gryphon, finding a small group of rather obnoxious drunkards getting into a bar brawl, separate from on-lookers and happy celebrators. Jinjo would soon help to put an end to the ruckus, at least he liked to fight.

Quickly he entered the fray, any who attacked him were quickly met by his silver shields. He probably wouldn’t have to throw a punch to help end this brawl… but just one couldn’t hurt. A large furry fist quickly intercepted the stomach of one particular drunkard who charged at the pandaren with a stool used as a weapon, and then quickly proceeded to collapse to the floor in a ball of pain and sorrow, because incidentally the fist had gone a bit too low.

Leyanni's day had gone rapidly in the direction of her picking up some harder alcohol at Kellen's Green Gryphon than her town's tiny brewery. Kellen was a familiar place, ancient even, unchanged for hundreds of years. Other than a few rampages, things were pretty calm in this corner of the world. That was how she liked it, and other than the bandit problem, it was peaceable. Sometimes she'd have to step in during a minor tussle between farmers, or something equally silly. Most of her days were spent tending to her little garden, sleeping, or exploring the wilderness.

Her town's dirt road became Kellen's paved road. The sudden transition always bothered her a little bit, but never for long. Ley lost herself in thought contemplating which road she actually preferred. She followed the road, walking amongst the sparse townfolk into Kellen's Green Gryphon. The half elf broke free of her thoughts at the realization her favorite tavern was subjected to a brawl. Most of the place was calm, or at least attempting to ignore the rapidly expanding fight. A large bear-like creature had waded in, shields strapped to his arms. It was difficult to tell who started the affair, but Leyanni knew who had a weapon.

"Stop fighting! Or I'll throw you in the jail for the night." Leyanni threatened. A few townsfolk backed off, knowing Leyanni's position as a guard. She immediately grabbed the most drunken of the townies and slammed him into the bar.

"Jod, don't go hitting your friends. You know better. Now go on home." She suggested. Jod did as he was told, stumbling out of the tavern more than a little bruised. She stepped in front of the black and white manbear, drawing her sword as she did.

"You'll have to put away those weapons." Leyanni said. She really didn't want to fight him, but she kept the outward appearance of ferocity and a will to fight to protect Kellen's townsfolk.

Other than the unfortunate, yet laughable, punch to one of the drunkards’ groin, Jinjo couldn’t get around to punching somebody else. Somebody had grabbed a chair from an empty and tried to hit him with it, but it just broke against one of his silvery shields and bounced back to slam into the wielder’s face with about equal force, so basically that particular drunkard had hit himself in the face with a chair. Most of the pandaren’s time within that particular fight was taken up by laughing at everybody who tried to hit him, most hitting his shield, some actually managing to hit him and looking as if they just cracked a knuckle.

The fun of the bar brawl didn’t exactly last long before a guardswoman came over and broke up the fight. Everybody stood watching, backed up from the threat of imprisonment, as she grabbed somebody and slammed him against a bar. As the drunk the guardswoman apparently knew stumbled from the Green Gryphon, she drew her weapon and turned her attention towards Jinjo, ordering him to put away his shields. He looked her over for a moment, finding he was taller by about two feet, but not particularly interested in a real fight.

“You put yours away first, I feel a lot more threatened by a sword than you should about a couple of shields. And I don’t want any sort of potentially life threatening fight. So if you sheathe your sword, I’ll put away my shields, and we both go on without any…” He stopped for a moment, a furry finger having been pointed at the guardswoman in front of him as he was speaking, Jinjo now looked around at several slightly bloodied drunks, “any real bloodshed.” He finally finished, now dropping his hand. He obviously needed to come to Kellan more if this was what their bar brawls were like.

Leyanni didn't put away her sword, but her facial features twisted to a grimace, from the casual air she'd had before. Skin became tight on her knuckles as she gripped the blade.

"I think you misunderstand me, I'm the guardswoman. I'm the one who throws people in jail. You want to get shoved into a cage, bear? Shackled into a pillory? Put away your shields." Leyanni stated, more than a little annoyed.

(Short, yes, but Ley didn't have much to say other than threaten you with police brutality!)
