Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Another bright and sunny day, a glorious sight to Kuru, the heat reminded him of the Istan Desert so well, all that was missing was the sand. But Kellan was as good as anywhere else on Imythess, a generally friendly atmosphere wherever he went aided with the welcoming feel of the village. It was just too bad it was merely a stop along the never ending route around the known world, but the naga felt a duty to those along the road, and he was very possibly the only being bold enough to travel the dangerous roads back and forth the do little more than supply travelers with a good place to stop for a while and get a drink.

Now he slithered across the ground with a large barrel lifted over his right shoulder, filled with bottles and clean towels to pad the glass containers and clean up any potential messes made by the patrons of Aria’s Traveling Pub. His next stop was to be Striberg, far up in the North. He had never been to the magical city before, which would make this run a first. A new series of roads waited ahead, and the more Kuru thought of his coming journey, the more he wondered if the city would be as friendly as Kellan.

The naga stopped in front of a tavern, looking over the entrance and the sign for a moment. Perhaps it wouldn’t hurt to stop by for a moment and grab a drink from the local places, he thought to himself. He lowered the barrel and slithered into the tavern, making his way over to a table at the side. It had been a while since he was in a tavern, perhaps a few years at least. His red scaled tail coiled around beneath the table.

A barmaid seemed wary of Kuru, perhaps it was his horns, but having people afraid of him was the last thing he wanted. He simply smiled warmly to her and asked for an ale.

Pintpintpintpintpint...

Face glistening with sweat, Ozan pushed the door to the tavern open with his healthy hand, startling a nearby barmaid.

"Need- a pint-" the paladin wheezed desperately at her. "So... hot out-"

"Uh, alright, then," she answered, giving him a funny look. After the wench made her way to get his order, Ozan slumped his body over the nearest seat. His bandaged arm hit the surface of the table with an unnaturally dull thud.

After staying almost catatonically motionless for a few seconds, Ozan's nostrils picked up a putrid smell. He wrinkled his nose. The scent called to mind rotting meat, with a tinge of sweat and vomit mixed in. Almost instantly he scanned the pub for the culprit, and the first person the paladin laid eyes on was a horned man.

A peculiarity in the man's form -- other than the possibly demonic horns, of course -- prompted Ozan to drop his gaze down. Lo and behold, a snake's body replaced the pair of legs one would normally expect. "My gods!" the paladin shouted over at him, his face twisted in disgust. "Have you ever bathed once in your life? I can smell you from over here! Disgusting creature."
