Kaess stood in a grove of trees about a two hour walk from Memphian Falls. He had just set up camp and was waiting for a friend to arrive as he had called him to help him out. He had been on a treasure hunt near here some time ago. They had found the treasure, but do to an encounter with a demon who had proved to be a constant problem in his life he and the group he was with had not had the chance to recover the treasure. They had even lost a member of their group to the falls that day and Kaess had returned to find the treasure sealed up again by magic. This didn’t bother him at the time since he had little need for the money, but now he did. He had charged with training people in the art of The Burning Fist and they needed a place to train. To build that place he needed money. So he had returned and found that he could not open the entrance no matter how hard he tried. However, he had found a way to open the place with a bit of help, so he called on an old friend to help out.

However, things were not going as well as he hopped demon hounds had started appearing around the rock and seemed to be guarding it for unknown reasons. All he knew was his instincts said this was a bad turn of events. He watched the fire burn slowly as he waited in silence.

In the opposite the direction four hours away a man stood at a full six foot three with a massive sword on his back that seemed to have evil cleaning to it. There was also the strong scent of blood surrounding the large blade. The sword seemed like it should be unwieldy even for the strong man, but he seemed to fit the man more than any other blade would. There was something clearly off about this man as if he wasn’t what he seemed and something far worse than the imposing figure of this man. There was a fire in the center of the camp he had made. Looking down you could see the man’s shadow didn’t match the body of the man. It seemed to have a demonic shape to it that was unclear, but produced an aura and occasionally it looked like there were red eyes peering out from it. He moved forward a bit as he saw a couple of figures approach. He was expecting them, the way his body moved also seemed to show he wasn’t human, as no human could move quite like that.

The demon, Zelothtith, waited in his cramped prison of a human body as for who would aid his escape came with in sight. He had sent a message with an offer meet him here, giving him the right incentives to come to hm. He had plans one of which involved killing a certain half-dragon he was certain would show up, but this time he would call on another who had been useful in the past. Thinking, ‘I will have my power back too.’ as he greeted his guests “Welcome do join me it is a short time to morning and we have much to discus I am sure you have many questions of me so please sit if you wish and we shall talk about it all.” He gestured with a simple movement that showed the bit of respect the individual who was joining him.

OOC: I was a bit confused by the setting in your last post, so I went along as best as I could. If I described something incorrectly, let me know.

BinC: Aiden gently pushed a branch out of his way as he finished his short hike from Memphian Falls. He whistled softly to himself to pass the time, knowing that his 'quarry' wouldn't that hard to find, especially while there was still light in the sky. The trail he was following shone as clear as day, a fact that brought a smile to the elf's face. But what in the world possessed him to come so far out? It's been almost two hours or so since I left the falls...I can't think of a bloody thing that could be out here except more trees.

As he continued walking for a few minutes, he gradually came to a place where the number of trees thinned to a large clearing. Aiden looked at the sky, noting the sun's rather low position, before peering across the clearing. Before him lay...rocks, to say the least. They ranged from small, almost brick-sized stones to huge boulders worn smooth by years of wind wear. "Impressive, I suppose," the elf muttered as he spotted a few wisps of smoke rising from the far side of the clearing.

Taking off at a jog, Aiden skipped nimbly between the stones, coming to the other side of the clearing in a few short minutes. A quick glimpse revealed a small path that went deeper into the wooded area. Still using the rising smoke as a guide, Aiden plunged into the woods at a faster pace, eager to get to his destination and stop this seemingly endless walk.

As he moved forward, Aiden could soon hear the crackle of a fire rising above the general silence of the forest. As he broke into another clearing, this time smaller, his face broke out into a smile. "Kaess," he called out, waving a bit before stepping towards his former companion. "Jeez, you still know how to pick the random spots, I see. . ."

It had been a while since Daelen had come out of the mountains and into area's that actually had people living there. Almost two years had passed since he had set out from his home village toward the mountains after they had placed a demonic heart in his chest, next to his own heart. And eventhough they sealed it to make sure he would regain his human conciousness, the demon inside had been growing stronger, pushing the seal to its limits.

For some unknown reason he had started walking in a set direction, like he was being pulled there. One day his feet just started to move and the omnious feeling the demon had something to do with it had not left his head since. Though the feeling of reaching this unknown goal had been stronger than he had wished for.

He pushed aside a few branches while ducking to avoid a low-growing branch, when he stood up again he noticed a man standing infront of him. A couple of feet away, something inside, his human side, told him to get away and leave this place, though the demonic side got into high gear, seemingly excited to see this man. 'This is going in the right direction, with a little time i might be able to overcome this human and finally get a grip on this body', the demon inside had received word from Zelothtith, a friend of old, not through actual spoken words but a voice that had called out to him. And he had heeded the call.

Slowly he had started to tear down the seal around his heart, he knew it would only be temporary, since it had been placed only two years ago and the magic was still strong. He knew he would be able to put it on hold for maybe a couple of hours max, he'dd had to see how that would turn out. "Zel, dont attack this human, its me.. Don't ask about this pathetic excuse for a body, i am going to fix that in a tad. Give this guy a good smack in the head so he looses conciousness, i'll take over from there." the voice called out from the demonic heart to Zelothtith, much like telepathy, though more a unspoken bond between friends.

And with those words he forced the human to take the last few steps toward his friend...

Kaess looked at the new arrival and by the seeming hour it was apparent that Fara're was not coming. Maybe she hadn't gotten the message. Still an old friend was now here and he smiled. He looked at Aiden who had helped him in the mountains some time ago. He laughed a bit as his friend words. "Not that random I am here for a reason. It is good to see you friend though you weren't the friend I was expecting maybe you can still help me. I used to be a part of an old treasure hunt in these parts. We found it, but .... well you remember that demon from the mountains. I kind of met him on that trip for the first time. The group was shattered and we thought we had killed him, but obviously not as he showed up again. Still by the time someone went back for the treasure it was sealed up again."

He took a breath and then continued in the flickering light. "Oddly enough I have found a need for the money build a monastery and I also found a way to break the seal, but you need two people working together to make it work. I don't suppose you would be willing to help me get it out. Though I can't promise there aren't more defenses than the seal. The place was set up by an old wizard. Though come to think of it I haven't asked what brings you to these parts. Here sit down and warm your self up. I should have a bit of meat I could cook up too if you are hungry." He wondered what Aiden was doing here now, and if he would help him out. It was an odd coincidence. Then again there were many odd things in this world. He had learned not to ask about all of them.

OOC: if you want Zieg can still join just have him join Zel and Daelen.

Zel had been surprised by the evil presence being a human. Then the thoughts flowed into him. It was old Daelen. Of the demons Daelen had been on his side in most plans, though they had a few disagreements from time to time. Those fights had been good ones his own urge to fight grew, but he knew he couldn't he would kill Daelen right now. Still he should do as his possible ally asked.

His skin started to seem to contort almost as if spikes were trying to thrust out of them. Stretching his arm unnaturally as he took his sword out and in one motion bashed the human, who looked terrified, but could run due to his own demonic aura. The man fell swiftly. He had hit just hard enough.... well maybe a bit harder ... still the task was done and the host alive. "Well was that good enough. It seems that things have done well and sent me an ally of old to help me in my quest. Though I thought you had been seal like I had been. Though I suppose that means you are escaping your shell too."

He paused to let the demon inside that human recover and listen to the next part properly. "Now I am close to resurrecting my own power. I just need a certain item, but irony of it is I can't touch that item and neither can my minions. So what do you say help me get something I need and I feed you a bit of energy to speed up your recovery! Then I think we can take a little revenge on those who sealed us or at least their descendants." He could help, but chuckle at the thought. He knew the first to die was that wretched half dragon Kaess. He had caused so many near upsets to his plans. Though the half dragon had failed to prevent him from gaining his powers back to this point. There was only one chest and one seal left on him. It would soon be over. His might and evil would be back and people would fear him again. His shadow danced in excitement. It was a wraith an extension of himself, but it had it's own thoughts, as Daelen knew. It looked pleased to see him and not many got that reaction from the shadow and lived.

OOC: Sorry folks, was at a conference.

BinC: Aiden took his friend's extended invitation and sat down on the cool, dry grass. He listened silently as Kaess explained his reasons for appearing in this remote location, cringing a bit as he remembered their previous journey through the northern mountains. I'm glad to see that we STILL can't seem to meet under normal, peaceful circumstances, the elf thought, trying hard to hide his disappointment--this apparently wouldn't be the leisurely stroll through the woods he'd been hoping for.

"The place was set up by an old wizard. Though come to think of it I haven't asked what brings you to these parts. Here sit down and warm your self up. I should have a bit of meat I could cook up too if you are hungry."

Politely waving his hand to refuse the food, Aiden leaned forward to start his own story. "I'm actually here to replace the "friend" who won't be coming," he said, "By complete chance, I intercepted Fara're, who told me that you'd be waiting. She sends her regrets, but she can't assist as she'd hoped. But lucky you, you've got me to help out." Aiden smiled a bit before continuing in a more serious tone.

"But now that you mention it, I am a bit concerned about this seal that you're talking about. Fara're didn't really give me any of the details regarding it, so you'll have to explain a few things for me. If breaking it open really does require two, then how long will it take before the process is completed? If we have to wait for a long period, we'd be vulnerable to an attack while we're dealing with the seal. I don't know if you're expecting company or not, but that seems to be the moment of greatest danger, ignoring any potential traps along the way. Have any plans for dealing with that?"

The blow of a sword to the head of a human always gave a great sound, untill he found himself being inside that head, then it suddenly became a sound that gave him a splitting headache. Slowly his hands crawled up to his head, rubbing the place where the word had hit. "I'm surprised one of your age is still able to hit this hard, old man", the tone is his voice mocking his old friend while a wide grin took his face, the mocking actually was more about himself, since he was the older one of the two. A friend wich he hadn't seen in a long time, someone he had been through allot with in the old days and it made him somewhat happy to see him alive after decades past.

So you heard about me being sealed huh, the bastards found my crypt, cut out my heart and placed it in this bloody human. Then some foul wizard placed a seal on it that i've never seen before, one strong enough to hold me inside even when i am halfway across the globe, so distance between the caster doesn't weaken it. So escaping this shell is a work in progress, atleast the blow weakend it and gave me control for the time being. So if you dont mind i'll be having this human body while holding you company today"

While he got up and checked the possibility of movement in the body he was stuck with he listed with full attention to the words his friend spoke. Especially the part where he spoke of speeding up the process of breaking the seal was something that hooked itself solid into his memory, this might turn out to be a chance to regain a little power and give him leverage against the seal. The eyes in his human body had taken an orange glow and some demonic glyphs had started to faintly appear on his skin. Nothing like his original body, but it atleast gave him the idea of having somewhat of a body he could work with. Atleast the skills of the human warrior were sufficiant to work with in a fight.

"Well, tell me exactly what needs to be done and we'll go have some fun like in the old days"

Kaess was a bit surprised that Aiden had been sent as a replacement. "Well that is a bit unexpected I didn't think you were looking for me. How interesting. As for the process it shouldn't be too hard. I wouldn't expect anything to show up again. It has been quite some time, but if they do I suppose it will be a problem.

The process is simple all we have to do is touch two rocks about thirty feet from each other that flank the hidden door. We can do magic, but we can't actually move from a ten foot radius from the rock we each touch for about twenty minutes after the moon has fully risen. That should be in a little under four hours. The spell is simply confirming you aren't an evil devil or such. Any ways if you are ready let’s get going. As soon as you are ready. There is still a good walk to the top of the falls. About two hours I think."

He slowly got up getting ready to go, packing a few things away as needed. Finally he put out the fire as he started out. As they walked he let Aiden ask any other questions he wanted. After some time they arrived at the top of the falls. The water rushing over the edge could be easily heard not far away. Kaess led his friend to one of the two rocks, which he found by their shape and markings. It was night, but the moon was large and provided enough light to see at least somewhat if not as well as in the day.

The moon rose higher in the sky until it was directly illuminating the first rock. "Alright that should be about right. Just touch the rock now.” He reached down and once he touched the rock it seemed to sparkle with the moonlight and a faint circle with a ten foot radius, appeared around him. He could see Aiden in the dark the same thing happening to his friend when he touched the rock.

Zelothtith smiled at his old companion. He shook his muscles looking more like he wanted to shed the skin he was trapped in. “Very well walk with me it is a bit of a journey to the destination.” He moved off at a quick, but steady rate. His shadowed cackled a bit in excitement to finally be off. They passed through the shadows of the moon lite trees, but he could see perfectly fine in the dark. The night was good and he would smash the entrance of that cursed vault.

“As for what we are doing. Well I am going to smash a vault of the wizard who sealed me. Destroy all in my way until we reach a pile of treasure. There you just need to grab a blood ruby mace. We will then enjoy a trip to the last seal on my power. Where you will break said seal with that mace. Then I should be resurrected and have more than enough power to help you break that silly boy’s body you know hold for your own. I assume you can handle at task as simple as this?” It wasn’t really a question and he knew his ally would follow through with the plan. He knew how much creatures like them would do anything to escape bonds put on them and so they would this night if things went well.

They traveled for hours and as he approached he saw something that displeased him greatly. He saw the wretched half dragon and some other pitiful creature standing by the entrance. They were standing in the middle of two circles. He could feel the holy energy from here and cursed to himself. “You wretched thing. Yet again you are in my way. Well this time it is your turn to die. Daelen take that elf. I will take the half dragon." As he moved forward he pulled free his large sword which started to drip blood that hissed burning into the ground like acid. The foul blade seemed to push at the holy wards. He also raised his hands raising eight hellhounds to the battle. Four went with him and four with Daelen under his mental command.

He moved forward seeing the half dragon Kaess fall into a fighting stance. Stepping in the circle hurt a bit, but it didn’t slow him down too much and Daelen was probably safe. He recognized this and it only affected demon bodies and Daelen didn’t have that at the moment. Still the hound too would be less deadly. Good thing it would only last as long as these two were in these circles. He smiled and swung his sword with a crazed yell.

Aiden put his hand to his chin as he listened intently to Kaess’ explanation. By the time his companion finished, some of the elf’s concerns were assuaged…but most were simply deepened. As he’d feared, this operation would leave them somewhat vulnerable for a time once the process started. While the ability to use magic was a comfort, their rather limited range of motion would make them obvious targets, should the worst happen. Of course, the elf was constantly worrying about such things—if Kaess hadn’t seen fit to worry, then there was no reason for him to start.

After listening to Kaess, the elf waited patiently until their modest campsite had been packed up. Once that was done, Aiden fell into step behind Kaess and kept a lookout as they moved. The sun continued to sink in the sky, eventually becoming obscured by the horizon. For a few minutes, Aiden wondered if they’d reach their destination in time for the moon’s rise, but Kaess continued to move confidently, so there was little reason to worry. Soon enough, the hike to the top of the waterfalls was complete, just in time, by the elf’s estimation.

“I wonder what link the magic has to the moon,” he muttered to himself as they came closer and closer to their final destination. As if on cue, the moon rose above the tall trees of the forest, its soft light illuminating the surrounding distance. Aiden was led to a large rock by Kaess, who then left and moved to another rock across the clearing.

"Alright that should be about right. Just touch the rock now.”

A bit hesitantly, Aiden reached down and touched the rock below. Within moments, a faint light shone from the stone, a sight that caught the elf by surprise. Well that was unexpected, he thought, kneeling down to observe the sight. “Interesting,” the elf muttered, truly fascinated by the soft, comforting holy energy that seemed to be emitted by the rock. Aiden was about to turn to Kaess and shout and question about this mysterious phenomenon, but a sudden feeling of unease washed over him before he could move. He felt, rather than saw, the dark presences approaching the clearing at a rapid pace.

A quick glance back revealed two advancing forms…a number that suddenly multiplied to ten before Aiden’s eyes. Before he had time to really figure out what had happened, Aiden’s longsword was in his hand. He was about to rush forward before remembering the distance constraints Kaess had warned him about. “Wonderful,” the elf muttered, already cursing the fact that his fear had become realized. “Last time I trust Kaess not to have unwelcome visitors. . .”

They travelled for a long time, talking about the task at hand and things of old, recovering memories of forgotten battles. At one certain point he noticed a sudden stop in Zelothtiths movements, his eyes aimed at two figures infront of them. A quick curse of words made clear he knew the first, the one with dragonic characteristics, the other was made his target in quick words. But it was enough for him, he was here to help his friend and not to ask questions.

His feet rose their speed as he ran a half circle through the voliage, trying to make as little sound as possible. The hounds that ran with him barely keeping up with his quickness. He had taken himself closer to the one who stood at the farthest glowing stone, from the stance he had taken he could see the elf had some decent fighting skills and was a enemy to be wary off. Maybe the element of surprise could be used to gain the upperhand in this fight.

He increased his runningspeed a bit more, before jumpin up in the air with his full legstrength. A mutter of demonic words engaged the only skill he knew he could use at the moment, trapped in this human body and having little control over the demonic powers. His entire body exploded into thousands of pitch black smokeparticals before disolving into thin air. At the exact same moment his body materialized in the air a few meters behind the elf. He felt a little uneasy as his body hovered over the glowing circle, its holy light made him uncomfortable, though the human body served its purpose well this moment, making him able to go over it without any serious restrictions.

His right hand holding a dagger across his chest, slashing it forward the moment he entered the range he knew it would hit. It aimed at the part between shoulder and neck, hopefully the surprise attack did its job and atleast wounded the elf and not drag out the battle to the end of days, uncertain about the time he had before the human would try and steal back control of his body. The hounds had caught up with him the moment the blade was about to cut the elfs neck, maybe they were enough to distract the elf during the fight. He saw that they suffered under the holy light, making them look like normal dogs instead of creatures from the hellfire.

Kaess stared at the demon with equal hatred and fell into a fighting stance. He let his blood boiled and he ducked under the first blow with smooth ease. His foot smashing into the demon's knee doing some obvious damage. The demon however, was not stopped by this blow and swung again. Kaess barely dodged in time, tumbling out of the way to the edge of the ring. He struck out again as the blade missed a second time and smashed the knee again which was becoming spiky, but the force this time stumbled the demon causing his third swing to hit the ground.

The blade hissed as it bit into the ground and kaess spun around to the back to claw the demon when the demon dogs jumped in the circle. He smashed one back feeling his fist crush it's skull, but the others bite into his right arm and both his legs. "Still can't fight without help you retched thing. Are you ever going to give up. You know how this will end."

He saw the demon turn lifting his blade for another strike. He summoned his strength and through one of the dogs off his arm into the demon. The blade cut through the dog, but it gave Kaess enough time to dodge and escape the jaws of the other two. Kaess realized the demon was not acting at full power or hi might have been seriously hurt in that last attack. 'Well at least that is something.' The moon light seemed to be glowing bright as the fights went on and the circles seemed to be flickering in response to the evil energies now present inside them.

Zelothtith screamed in annoyance as the half dragon kept dancing around avoiding his powerful strikes. The creature was getting better each time he met him, but he would end that soon. After the cutting his own minion down he realized that the half dragon was staying in the circle. Did he realize the advantage it gave him... probably. 'Well I will solve that he turned his blade to it's flat and swung it in a circle to clear force the half dragon out.'

To his surprise the creature tried to stop his blow and almost suceeded before being blown out of the ring. He wasn't knocked far, but it was out and Zelothtith started to move for him when he sensed something new. He turned to see a floating image on the bolder that was the entrance. It was the mage who had sealed him or some remnant of the long dead elf.

It spoke to him in the same mocking tone as before. "Scan complete, I see demons are here. Foolish demons you think I would let you break into the sanctum that easily. No now I will destroy all the demons here. None with evil shall steal from this place. Those who are not evil fear not as my spells will not harm you."

The image seemed to glow and Zeothtith yelled in anger unleasing more evil energy and shattering the circle he was in. The image of the mage had caused him anger enough to unleash all the power he had in him and he swung his sword down smashing the stone creating a hole large enough for one person to get in. The image was not entirely shattered and still glowed looking to be ready to explode in a few minutes. "Quickly Daelen forget these fools and grab a ruby mace in there I will create an exit for us while I hold these ones at bay." He fired a black bolt of energy at Aiden to distract the elf long enough for Daelen to duck inside the newly opened sanctum.

The mace is in a treasure chest a little ways in the cave. It is buried near the bottom. Zelothtith was annoyed by the fact the half dragon was already up and coming for him again after his blow.

OOC: Grrrrr crappy post lol

BinC: Aiden’s eyes moved along the line of foliage surrounding his position, smirking as he noted the ease with which he could track his opponent. Careful not to underestimate his opponent before the fight began, Aiden decided he’d go for the kill early rather than risking a protracted fight. Tilting his blade down slightly, the elf waited patiently as his opponent leapt from the foliage at a high speed. "That one’s a bit quick,” Aiden muttered, preparing to parry what he assumed would be a quick frontal slash.

But the elf’s eyes caught a quick movement from the demon. From this distance, Aiden could tell that his opponent was mouthing something indiscernible at this distance. But the elf still had a feeling that he knew exactly what was coming. Pulling out the magic already? he thought, bringing up his free hand and beginning a quick incantation of his own to counter the coming attack. However, his eyes quickly widened in surprise as the demon suddenly disappeared in a puff of thick, black smoke. Had he been a lesser opponent, Aiden might have stood frozen in wonder at the sight and wasted precious time trying to find his attacker. However, his knowledge of magic enabled him to hatch a counter faster than most. High strike to the neck, he thought, turning on his heel as he thought through his opponent’s likely next move. Blindly raising his blade, Aiden smirked in satisfaction as he met steel, glad that his guess had proved correct.

Not taking any time to revel in his success, Aiden raised his free hand and shouted, “Cari!” Instantly, a surge of energy flowed through the elf’s limbs as he quickly danced away from his opponent. Moving at a run, Aiden felt magic flowing as he prepared to sprint to Kaess’ aid…before he realized that he couldn’t leave the circle. He skid to a stop, shouting angrily as he turned on his heel and raised his sword, making a wide swing to catch two of the hounds in a vicious attack. The remaining pair, unlike their now dead companions, stayed at a respectable distance, circling the elf carefully before making another move.

Quickly Daelen forget these fools and grab a ruby mace in there I will create an exit for us while I hold these ones at bay.

Aiden turned at the sound of the voice, certain that he’d heard it before. But before he could connect a face with the voice, he noticed the black ball of dark energy hurtling towards him. Ignoring his own demon opponent for the moment, Aiden stretched his hand forward again, his mouth already forming the incantation. “Myr,” he said, averting his eyes as a bright light shot from his hand and collided with the dark energy. The two spells met with a loud crack as the two energies seemed to fight against one another. However, seconds later, both vanished as Aiden’s dispel finally won out.

“Wonderful,” the elf muttered. He turned, though he was certain that his opponent would already be rushing towards the very cave they were supposed to be guarding. . .
