Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Where is Master?

Naz-wraith was flying high over the ancient ruins. He had somehow been seperated from his master... how had it happened. His master needed him didn't he? Did he need his master? If only his master would call out to Naz-wraith, he could understand his master's death rattle; why wouldn't he call out? Maybe if he knew Naz-wraith was near...

Circling the ruins, Naz-wraith let loose a roar that would chill all to the bone except his master. To his master, it was more of a pledge of loyalty.

No one had better not have attacked his master; Naz-wraith wouldn't like that very much. Neither would the one who had attacked his master...

If they were even brave enough to begin with.

Cronus was busy flying over the ruins when she saw a creture flying up ahead so she decided to fly up and see if she was needed. she got closer though and noticed that it was a massive frightning creture so she drew her sword just incase. when she got up to him she yelled NEED ANYTHING!!!!!

The ruins were a place not many people just fly over for nothing so he must have been looking for something, but what could he have been looking for

Some puny little creature called out to him, and he proceeded to turn his head in the sound of the noise. It had a weapon held within its weak little hands. Naz-wraith recognized none of the little one had said. It was flying towards him with its weapon out; it was challenging him, how could it have been so stupid? Naz-wraith would teach it a lesson.

He roared once more, instilling fear into all, and changed his chosen direction to that of the little challenger. He flapped hard and strong, and was oh so ready to kill, or in the very least to cause pain.

For Master! the beast screamed in his head.

The creature ignored her but went forward with great speed so she readied her buckler in her left hand and her longsword in her right. To match his speed she sped forward as fast as she could and just to tick the foolish creature for battling her she yelled MAGIC MISSLE!!!! Then the missle shot forward as fast as she was moving and was heading straight fot its head and even if he dodged it had to hit his tail.

This was gonna get epic...

The little one began to charge at Naz-wraith with sword and shield ready; yes he knew what those were, his master had made certain of that...

Suddenly, a buffet of wind hit Naz-wraith, slowing him down from his full charge, but it hardly causing any recognizable damage. This one knew magic did it? Well, apparently not strong enough magic. He roared with glee at the thought of this one's mangled body, alive or dead he didn't care. It had been so long since he had fought, having to have been reformed from the shadow's womb, but he couldn't remember how he had died right now, but something dealing with his master...

But that was beside the point at the moment; Naz-wraith was going to teach hell a lesson in administrating pain. The creature had her sword pointed at him, and he decided to use a trick his master had taught him to use. Naz-wraith threw his wings wide, braking. He brung his tail up and let the blade pierce him about five feet from the tip of his tail. He wrapped the remaining length around her arm and her torso, below the wings. He reared his head back roared with a roar that contained a little pain, but the roar was dominated by triumph.

Bringing his head back down he thrusted for her left wing, waiting to hear the bones snap beneath the force and strength of his ferocious bite.

Cronus was trapped with her sword stuck in the beasts tail with the rest of the tail wrapped around her right arm. Then the creture reared back then lunged forward, mouth wide open ready to bite off her left wing. Nothing left to do she shoved her shield into his mouth jamming his jaw wide open then with her left arm shot a magic missle shooting the buckler right down his throat jamming him from breathing. The creture reared back again. She started wondering what he was gonna do next.

All she could do was hope for the best...

Naz-wraith recoiled with pain as the creature's shield went down his throat; master would have expected Naz-wraith to do better. And that was what Naz-wraith planned to do. He had mananged retain his grip, but it was weakening as the struggle progressed, as it did have a sword in it. But as master had told him, it was only superficial.

He reached up with his left leg, grabbing the handle of the shield in his throat, and pulled. It barely budged, but he persisted, and his efforts were rewarded with precious air and a scratched throat; killing and eating this creature would be painful to him going down, so he settled with just hurting it for coming to Naz-wraith so aggressively.

He bashed the shield into the creature's face, attempting to thrawt her attempts at getting her arm free. Instead of rearing back this time, he simply went quickly down to bite her left wing again. It would be nigh impossible to counter him this time...

Cronus watched as he yanked the shield out of his throat and throws it at her so she used the momentum to slide under the toss and shoots a magic missle at his head. She then dives around and grabs onto his tail with the end of her sword right above her head. Wrapping her wings around herself and the tail she was sliding around getting a good grip. She thought about anything ellse she coudl do to avoid this beast. The only way she could be severly injured now is by him biting off his own tail. The sword was being twisted around in his tail and while she was also trying to yank it out at the same time.

Slippery little creature. Naz-wraith's bite met naught but air, and this one was becoming tiresome; he could feel his rage building, and it was filling him with strength. Thinking fast, he grabbed her with his right talons, as she had slid down to where he would have to bite himself to get her, and there was better ways of accomplishing that. Still holding the shield in his left talons, he began to strike at her repeatedly, so as to pummel her. And she was running out of room to manuver. He roared as he soared upwards, to the outer limits of the atmoshere. Up here, she would tire faster than he, as he had a larger respiratory systems and having a most undoubtedly further developed one as well. Which meant he could use gather and hold more precious oxygen than she could ever hope to; she would black out from going unconcious.

Up he went, and it gradually became colder. He continued thrashing at her with the shield, most likely hitting the wings she so desperately tried to protect, and hindering their proficiency. An endless plane met their eyes, and he braked before he exited the atmosphere, as it burned to enter and exit it completely. He had learned that the hard way, and he wasn't to fond of the experience. He looked down at his annoying play-thing.

He began to squeez tighter with both his tail wrapped around her and his right talons, squeezing the air out of her and preventing her lungs from being able to expand to consume more, though he doubted she would be able to draw much in anyway this high up. Naz-wraith, on the other hand, was dealing very well with the atmosphere, his internals serving him well.

This pest, however, would soon be unconcious, and be at his mercy. Or what little he had of it anyway.

Cronus was pinned down by the force of his tails grip and the talons of the beast. Then wind was smashing against her face and and she knew she was increasing in altitude. She started losing air so she did the only thing she could do. She started waving her right arm flailing and trying to cut off his tail. The cut was widening slightly so she was hoping it was working but she couldnt see as well and was losing energy, he was leaving the atmosphere. She now couldnt see and within the minute she was unconcious

Naz-wraith's plan had worked well, even though she had tried to widen the wound of his tail. As she went unconcious, her body fell limp in his grasp, and he roared with triumph, as the chill in the air began to form frost on both of their wings. His anger was disapating as he realized he had taught her the lesson she deserved, and that is to never approach like an enemy unless you intend to be one.

He descended a few hundred feet, but they were still very, very high up. It would also take a little while longer to wake back up. If she was lucky, she would before she hit the ground. With that, he released his grip on her and she began to plummet to the ground. He flicked his tail and her sword followed suit. Realizing that here shield was also in his possesion, he dropped it as well, watching it fall.

If the creature was smart, she would leave when she regained conciousness, and leave before she caused herself more pain. Naz-wraith, on the other hand, would continue his search for his master.

He turned and headed south, descending back to the altitude he had been in before pest had bothered him in such a rude way.

She woke...

Several feet above the ground the massive amounts of wind widening her eyes open. She spread her wings wide open but it hurt to wide them. She spun around and saw the creture heading south. She kept heading toward the ground though as she was too weak to face him again. She endured the pain of spreading her wings so she would not plummet in the ground. She then landed on the ground and waited for a while grapping her shield and making sure it was not damaged a lotl. She then started walking south while regaining her wing strength. After a kilometer or two of walkiing she had enough strength she lifted herself in the air and started flying. A few minutes later she saw the creture flying and decided not to unsheath her weapons for this time she would only reason with the creature.

She met up with him and yelled I DID NOT WANT TO FIGHT YOU EARLIER I WAS ONLY THERE TO SEE IF YOU NEEDED ANYTHING! She then made a sign with her hands of that meant she came in peace.

hopefully he would not attack her this time...

Naz-wraith watched as the creature moved on the ground, searching for her equipment or something of the sort. She soon flew back up to him, this time without a weapon drawn.

At least she's a fast learner, he grumbled in his native tongue, the tongue of dragons.

"I DID NOT WANT TO FIGHT YOU EARLIER I WAS ONLY THERE TO SEE IF YOU NEEDED ANYTHING!" she shouted and attempted to make some sign of peace with her hands.

Out of what she had said, he understood "I NOT WANT FIGHT YOU I SEE YOU NEEDED ANYTHING!"

A low rumble could be heard as he chuckled; she was indeed a fast learner, he wondered when she would catch on to the fact that he couldn't speak common. He merely looked at her as he flapped, staying in the same place in the air.

Cronus knew he didnt understand she had forgotten he didnt speak english. She has to find some way to communicate with him. She could not speak his lanuage but there may be one way she could but it would take time to make sure he knew what she was trying to get at.

She started by pointing at him saying YOU.
Then by pointing at herself saying ME.
Next by clasping her hands together saying TEAM.
Concluding with her pointing up saying UP.

She hopes he can understand sign language...

Naz-wraith continued to chuckle as she continued to attempt a way to communicate with him. It was funny how she naturally assumed he couldn't understand common. Well, he could, but to a certain extent; but he could get the message. But, what else was she to think, after all, it wasn't like he could answer her.

She then began performing various hand signals, as if she was trying to communicate with signs. She first pointed to him, which he understood, then to herself, which he again understood. She then clasped her together, and pointed up. This is the message he got, respective to the points: You, me, together, sky. The one that seemed to be out of place was sky. Hmm...

She pointed up, but to what? What's up there that she would be pointing to? Wait, up; yes she meant up. I think.

So, the two of them together up? That would mean a pair, a partnership, a... team. Hmm. That must be what she meant. He wasn't very fond of the idea of having someone other than his master. But if he did this, that would give his master another minion... yes, that would be very good indeed. Now then, what was the silent approval sign? Oh yeah. A nod.

Naz-wraith starred at the creature and slowly began to nod his head up and down, showing his approval and that he had understood what she had said. His master would be proud of him to have obtained another minion for him, and a female one at that. His master would be very proud...
