| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Chaos wandered through the dark forest, rustling through trees bushes and the occasional thorn vine. He hated norwood and its homey feeling. All the animals and life the teemed in the wood just made him want to pounce and eat them all. His tounge licked at his lips, tasting dried blood left over from previous meals. His veins pulsed with flaming blood, the urge to set the entire forest on fire. To watch it burn to ground killing everything lost in side of it. Oh yes he would enjoy doing that so much, but knew all of the elves, woodland creatures and protecters of good would be on his tail after he did. So he kept his urge at bay, his killing intent halted by the fact he had no one to taste on his tounge. The sad trip through the forest had brought him to one of the darker regions of the wood. Hauntwood marsh. He liked the place a little more, but still hated it with his being. The dark twisted trees reminded him of his self. A creature that everyone hated and was forced to lay in darkness, away from those who might find him a bit unbearble. No he knew what it was like to be hated and feared, and truth was he did not give a crap. He loved evil, he loved death and if people were afraid of him, well that made it all the easier. |

Hauntwood Marsh… where was that damned rat!? This was his home, wasn’t it? The vermin Vernon was probably out doing something fun, damn! Ogichi was twitchy in this place, alligators were barely good enough to sate his want to kill, his ever growing urge. He wanted to fight the wererat again, he wanted to show his immense grow in power, that despite what the rat thought he was not his damn pet!!! He picked a large alligator from the water that had been following him for some time and threw it as hard as he could in a random direction, quickly following after it with a loud grind, flying through the air in a following arcing pattern, after the large scaly beast hit the water-like substance of the marsh, so did the fiend, crushing its head with his foot. He couldn’t really hide it, that was at least somewhat entertaining, though he would much rather rip off Vernon’s tail, this was good enough. Other than the rat, he had no real reason to be in the marsh, he could be killing somebody during the time he was wasting wading around in the damned marsh. Most of the fabric that made up his white pants were soaked with the vile liquid. He breathed a sigh of annoyance as the smile quickly faded from his face. He needed an actual fight, something to kill that would at least scream in fear! He needed to find his way to the damn elf village. He stopped for a second, thinking angry thoughts before being trailed off by the sound of something walking its way through the vile grounds. It sounded… different from the normal beasts of the Hauntwood Marsh, which meant it was either something very big, humanoid, or if he was lucky, both! He went forth to investigate the sound, his blade at the ready to end whatever was there. It took a moment of noisily stalking through the uncomfortable landscape before he saw the source of the sound. Some humanoid creature, about his height, trekking foolishly alone through the dark lands… the pale white fiend didn’t waste a moment as he blinked with a near deafening grinding sound, reappearing above his target with his blade above his head, bringing it down with draconic might backing it, near impossible to block. He wanted to kill the being so much! |

He was bored, nothing was hidden about that. He hated the woods and he hated being bored. The whole concept of bordum drove him crazy. Walking his mind began to wander, his thirst for blood came back, clawing at him like a addiction he could not handle. The urge was almost so great that he wanted to just cut his arm to watch blood drip. Sure people would call him insane, others would call him evil, and he was sure he had heard monster somewhere in their remarks before, but he did not deny them for they were all true. Reaching his hand to his oppisite arm, he readied to claw at his skin, but a sound stopped him. Behind him in the bushes was rattling and rustling, like someone was clumsly trying to get through the marsh. Chaos laughed for today he would not have to spill his blood, he had another sacrifice to make. But something was odd about this noise. Chaos was ready for what ever jumped from the bushes. but that was the issue, nothing came from the bushes. Instead a sudden clang was heard and a flash of white above his head made chaos look up. It was almost instant and he was almost to slow. Whatever was in the bushes was now above him, comeing down fast weilding a great sword of destruction. With no time to draw his sword he did the only thing he could think of, put his hands up to grab it. Metal hit metal, his guantlets were strong enough to withstand the oncomeing blade. However the force was so great that his feet dug into the ground a little, pushing mud and muck up past his ankles. He held on to the blade, gripping it as hard as he could. With a deep breath and the momentum of the mans swing he swung the man holding his sword tip, aiming to throw him to the ground. If he had succedded the man would be trown into the mud and chaos would have been giving his meal for the day. |

This already seemed fun, Ogichi let out his normally maddened laugh at the victim grabbing hold of Mayuri’s blade. It was definatley something new and unusual, and Horo loved that in combat, it usually meant he needed a new strategy. Maybe it had been the utter lack of stealth that alerted the being to Horo’s presence. Oh well, it didn’t matter to him, this was still going to be fun. Despite essentially being thrown to the ground, Horo landed on his feet, hunched over and staring up towards his enemy. This… thing, was obviously something powerful, powerful things were fun to kill. And it seemed like this thing had metal for hands, maybe before killing him, Ogichi would chop off the metal hands and take them as some sort of trophy… if, of course, the fight proved at all interesting enough to warrant such an action. “Bad move.” He said happily as he began to lift his blade into the air with ease and a high amount of speed into the air to lift the somewhat small enemy into the air before bringing the massive blade back down to where the being unfortunate to be faced with a previously bored Ogichi was standing. The pale white fiend didn’t waste any time to see if the strike had so much as even disoriented the victim before bringing his blade back up into the air and quickly bringing it down at his foe. The speed accented the power behind each blow. Horo always reveled in the science that was hidden in magic, it seemed pretty contradictory, but his blurred speed and draconic might were a force to truly be reckoned with when combined. He was wondering if he would even need his blade, but he quickly shrugged the thought away as he brought his sword around horizontally to try and slice the man in half. |

The white man flew down, creating a sort of blur with his body; the smaller man hit the mud and dirt, but landed on his feet none the less. A sick smile of joy spread across chaos face, this was going to be a bit harder than he had expected, and just the way he liked it. It was no fun if your meal just handed themselves to you, he loved to fight for his meal, that made the kill oh so much better. The death of the white man would have been something chaos could only have dreamed about, but today that dream was about to make reality. As the man prepared to swing up chaos let go of the blade, not getting caught in the same trick he had just pulled. But the blade wasn’t destined to stop upright, for his came back down, with increased speed and most likely even more strength. Chaos grabbed his metal cutter off his back and slammed it into the man’s blade, just in time to keep him alive. The blade against blade sparked his having just a bit more strength behind it. But then it happened again, the blade flew up and back down, chaos trying hard to block the blow with his own weapon. The man’s speed was amazing, it was as if his body was moving so fast you could not see the full thing, just the outline he made. No matter, chaos had his own magic. As the man’s blade tilted, its direction changed for a sideways strike, the red demon saw his moment to counter. The blade come fast, chaos sent his cutter to block it, the flat of the great sword slamming into the blade of his, but he did not stop, releasing the cutter instantly, as it stopped the advancing blade, he rushed in, pulling his celestial dagger from under his cloak. This gave him a second advantage as the man recovered from the sword strike. Chaos jabbed at the man’s chest, the dagger aimed to severely slash him across the chest. |

Ogichi gave a light and quick chuckle as the humanoid slammed it’s own mighty broad side against Mayuri’s blade to counter the blow. It was an interesting sight to see the two massive weapons collide, robbing Horo’s of it’s momentum and the blood it would have tasted. It was then and there, Ogichi could tell this might actually be an interesting fight. Besides, anything that could stop a huge blade coming with insane speed mixed with strength that could match a dragon was sure to be at least a good warm-up; but the white fiend decided he would be optimistic and wish the fight to be a challenge. The being before Horo let his weapon go as it stopped Mayuri, apparently taking some dagger from it’s place and lunging for Horo’s stomach. “Tch.” He sounded before a near deafening grind took his place as he vanished into thin air, not even a moment passed before he reappeared a few meters away from his enemy, a cut in his jacket, the weapon came too close. He rolled his shoulder with a high-pitched chuckle. This was definatley going to be an interesting fight. “All-right, then; I’ve got nothing better to do, let’s play!” He laughed with his high-pitched tone, his words eminating his uncaring tone for the situation, this was more than likely going to turn out to be little more than an over-glorified work-out, considering he could utterly destroy the man in front of him with ease. When at last he stopped his mad laughing, he disappeared with another near deafening low grinding sound that echoed off of the trees, reappearing behind his enemy with that same horrible sound, bringing his mighty letifer blade around with a single blurred swipe with his right arm, draconic might seeming to increase with the insane speed used to deliver his blade. |

Chaos thought his attack was a great one, a surprise strike to the white man should have gotten him, and the holy magic from the dagger was sure to destroy the demons flesh, but sad enough the dagger did not make its mark. A loud grinding sound, same as the sound he heard right as the demon showed up, sounded off as the man seemed to completly teleport. So this was how he had gotten to chaos so fast. Damn it! Yelled chaos as he kept the dagger held out right. He was not going to allow a sneak attack to be brought upone him. after a few second chaos began to wonder where the man had gotten to, this fight was beginning to get a little dangerous. Just as he allowed hsi thoughts to mess with battle he felt a sting across his back. In reaction he sprang forward, slashing his dagger behind him in a three sixty turn, the dagger neck level. The damn man had gotten a strike but chaos was not going to allow this to be the end of him. With great speed the dagger slashed at the man, then turned back for a quick second strike. He gave no time to see if the dagger had found its mark. He bloted forward and turned to face the direction his enemy was in. The wound on his back began to spread, the red demon could feel the burning and aching on his back. No problem, he would heal himself with a little black magic. The shadows around him rose from the ground and seemed to cover his body. With a hissing noise the wound on his back steamed the healed up, leaving a faint scar across his back. With anger in his eyes he glared at the man, flames erupting from his body. A large circle of fire burst from the ground, twenty feet in every direction. If the man was inside the circle he would be trapped and unable to escape, if he was otuside that would give chaos time to heal and charge his next attack, either way chaos was notgoing to just give this man a easy win. |

Horo gave a nice wicked smile perfectly in tune with his monstrous blade cutting through the back of his enemy. No blood could spill from that poisoned wound which ate through anything living until nothing but dust was left. Ogichi’s newest victim wasn’t exactly quick in comparison, he also didn’t seem to exactly be particularly aware of his surroundings, which would make him a fun thing to toy with for a while, but sooner or later, just like everything else, it was going to be stricken down by the psychotic pale white fiend. Ogichi dodged the retaliation strike, figuring it would come as learned from the many fights before this one; there was some instinct that came across any who had truly fought, to strike whatever struck you. The insane monster brought up the large sword with an arcing motion, parrying the strike of the dagger with a clang of metal and a blur. The weapon was already incredibly light in his hands because of strength that could match a dragon’s, the blurred speed only added to such trivial defensive abilities he rarely if ever used within battle. The pale fiend left his weapon in the defensive position, watching as his opponent created distance and bathed his wound in shadows, most likely to heal it, before calling upon magical powers to make an arena of fire. Ogichi stood, swinging the sword around in his hand and laying it on his shoulder, rather unimpressed by the display, or the pitiful attempt at entrapment. “It’s like a cornered mongrel, you’re trying to fight to survive but you’re still going to die.” Ogichi laughed madly, for a moment before pointing his blade at his enemy and disappearing with one of those horrible grinding sounds. All he had to do was keep attacking so his enemy didn’t get the chance to heal. Horo first appeared behind the foe, examining and confirming where the cut from earlier had been before slashing to create a new one, timing himself and quickly disappearing with the same grind, reappearing to a side of his enemy and delivering another slash before blinking away from the victim and to an inner edge of the ring of fire. Ogichi didn’t have elemental magic, he didn’t need it. He was fast enough and strong enough to kill just about anybody he needed to, that was his thought anyway, and so far the only ones to truly survive against him had run away… at least, the ones he cared to remember. |

Chaos could feel the burning intensity of the flames creating sweat droplets on his skin, although he did not mind. His deep dark skin absorbed the heat and gave chaos the welcoming feel of be back in the abyss. He had faced many a foe before, comeing out ontop many of the time, but this day was different, for he had found a worthy opponent. Someone that gave chaos a run for his money, atleast for now. He knew that victory in this battle was close to impossiable, but he would not run. Instead he had a better idea. You know the thing about fighting a beast is they never know when to give up. Even when their head is hanging by a single thread of flesh and all of their limbs have been ripped and torn to shreads. A beast such as me knows no limits. You know you and i would make a great team, a duo of destruction, But seeing how you are so hell bent on killing me, im not sure you would agree to such an offer. He knew his words were ill minded and weredirected at getting the white demon before him to join Chaos instead of continue this relentless battle. But he was not able to recieve a answer as the all to familier grinding sound filled the air. So chaos wasnt the smartest man in the world, but he wasnt the dumbest either. He had come to know what occured after this sound. You are getting predictable my friend! Yelled chaso as he let loose a storm of flames. Hot smoldering heat blasted from his body in a complete circle. Rushing from his body it was a direct impact on the on comeing man. If chaos assumption was correct the demon and tried to teleport close to chaos which was good because he would not have time to escape the rushing flames that met him right after reappearing. As the flames let loose chaos moved left to the far side of the circle, pressing his back to the flames. He was going to put this enemy in his line of sight, no stabs to the back. I guess i wasnt clear. I want you to join me, join forces in progressing the destruction of imythess. A demon such as your self would do well with a partner to back you up, even if you dont need it. Chaso gripped both his dagger and cutter, just in case this man was a stranger to hsi request. |

Horo had been hit by the flames, but his jacket got most of it, and the high speed which he was moving at extinguished what flames had rested on his skin. Quickly the pale fiend discarded his coat, listening to his victim during the time he didn’t really have much better to do. Apparently the demon wanted him to join forces or something, the psychotic white demon chuckled a bit and sighed, it was an honestly amusing idea, but so far he wasn’t exactly impressed. He shook his head and laughed a bit louder before making that horrible grinding sound, this time not to blink but to heal the burns where the flames had licked and decided on a response. “You’re right, I don’t need a partner, especially one that’s little more that a good work-out.” He shrugged, stretching a bit, sort of enjoying the magical heat in this wretched lifeless swamp of a child’s nightmare. He thought it over in his head real quick, staring up at some horribly twisted and mangled tree, he gave a light chuckle then looked back to his foe. “Tell ya what, if by some random hapless miracle you manage to survive this particular encounter, next time we meet up we can go and slaughter a bunch of villagers and have a real blast. Though, for right now, I’m going to continue with the instinctual imperative to rend your flesh and rip your various vital organs from your torso.” His voice became relatively low compared to his psychotic high voice, resonating with the existence of a promise, he was just getting started with this little brawl, though with the fire he wouldn’t be able to use his normal fighting style, it would be an interesting exercise. With a loud grinding sound he disappeared, reappearing at the center of the arena of flames before pushing off the ground beneath the much and launching himself towards his foe, throwing an incredibly powerful kick forth, fully intent on sending his enemy flying from the confined area he had crafted with his magic. Horo timed it, and after what would be about a second after impact with his enemy, disappeared with another horrible grinding sound, reappearing and throwing a kick towards the pyro demon’s head. He had more than enough time to play with this being, anyway. |

Chaos was starting to get a little pissed off, Everything he threw at this white demon he countered, them retaliated with a quicker, stronger attack. Chaos could feel the tension building up in his body, and his mucles beginning to get weak. The heat was riseing fast, small shrubs and plants already lay claim to the flames might. If they were not in the marsh everything was sure to be blazing. But this was a thought that passed from his mind very very fast. For the white man gave chaos a answer, if he could survive they would consider a partner ship. But the oh so familiar grinding sound echoed in the air right after the words were said. Instatly he dropped both weapons that were in his hand, only to feel the quick burst of a foot slam into his gut. Flying back chaos hit the wall of flame, breaking it and causing the ring to completly fade. But he had only a split second to think, for the man was coming for a second strike. Not even thinking, purely out of instict and fear chaos lashed out with both of his gloved hands, hopeing to block a blow from his front. Which indeed was the target, but he was not fast enough to block this man. For his gloved hands clipped the mans foot, absorbing most of the damage, but he still got passed and landed a swift blow to the top of his head. With ringing and shear pain in his head chaos lay back in the muck, all thought leaving him for a second, it was soon to be over, but something inside him would not go down so easily. |

Horo landed in the muck with enough force to create a large splash. His attack had been successful, but it was pitiful. He hadn’t even required the use of his armor, too bad. He shrugged at the sight of his enemy lying in the muck, looking back to see the magical flames dissipating, he gave out a sharp whistle and shook his head. “Tch, too bad,” He chuckled, that wickedly insane smile placed solidly on his face, irremovable, mocking. He was actually wanting the fight to last a bit longer, to actually be worth engaging in, but it was far from satisfactory. Deeply, Ogichi was hoping that perhaps the demon he just scuffled with would maybe have some trick up his sleeve, an ace in the hole, something worth the trouble, “I didn’t even get to start actually trying to kill you, are you sure you’re not just some demonic citizen who came to Imythess to tour the mortal realm? There’s more to fighting than just magic and weaponry, after all. There’s actually winning.” Horo chuckled, mocking what appeared to be the loser, walking around the felled demon, his white pants sliding through the muck as he looked around at the surroundings, the dark and twisted trees, like scorned spirits locked in an eternal turmoil with which there was no escape. He liked it, but he liked the drow city better, the darkness, the killing of Matron Mothers in public, it was fun to show on a daily basis how much more dangerous he was than them. He looked back to the demon, waiting, though rather impatiently for some kind of action, ready to blink away at a moment’s notice. Ogichi wondered if he was going to pull some dirty underhanded trick. “It appears, as If monsters without restrictions are more powerful than beasts without limits. I mean, all you’ve managed to do is ruin a jacket, while I’ve managed to beat you down into the muck. Heh, I’ll do something new here. I’ll give you a minute to pick yourself up and try something new, call me sporting, but there’s really nothing better to do out here than fight with you.” Maybe this was an off day for him. |

So maybe he had met his match, maybe he was going to die here and now and be mocked at in the underworld for dyeing before even rising to full power. What was the point, he could not win right, this demon was smarter faster and stronger. He had no chance, or did he. laying flat on his back chaos took in a deep breath, the scorced air filled his lungs and provided enough air to allow speech. A true beast will continue to fight even if all its limbs have been removed, all its teeth knocked out and its flesh removed from its body. A true beast will fight until its last breath. He took in what may be his last breath, the red bare chest slowly rising and falling, everything slowed as he took in the slowly darkning sky, everything up to this moment had gone so well. Boom, it happened so fast even he did not notice he had done it, like his nerves moved on their own. The arm closest to the mans feet bolting out, useing the slippery muck to slide even faster and gain momentum, it sped at the mans ankles, but to fill even more of that small gap chaos unleashed the metal claws from his guantlets, so within the blink of an eye these claws tried to stab through the mans leg. But chaos was starting to figure this fight out, so without waiting to see the outcome chaos jolted up and sent a flying punch above him and behind him, hopeing to randomly catch the man while he teleported to safety. |

Horo was watching his enemy, watching his chest move as he spoke. He had been caught off-guard in the past, damn drow, and besides, he was till hoping that the demon he was fighting with had something hidden, some new trick to pull out, maybe even a rabbit out of thin air. How many more powerful than this one had Ogichi killed? How many that were crazier than the two of them combines? He had lost count over the years, but in the end, each kill was enjoyable, perhaps not as much as the one before it, but everybody had off days. This wasn’t Horo’s. His eyes quickly followed the arm that shot out toward his leg, he didn’t want to be caught by some combustion spell. His legs shot off into the air, his gold eyes searching rapidly up the arm, watching the demon shoot up. This was finally getting fun, a berserking rage provided entertainment for a while, at least. With a wretched and loud grinding sound, he vanished, reappearing a moment later next to a tree, impaling the old structure of nature about a yard from the muck and sitting upon his massive black and red blade, watching his raging foe with a smile. “Monsters don’t wait long enough for the wish of pain to grasp them, we act quickly, ripping the life from our prey, chosen at random. Beasts hunt, fighting ‘til the end. You win every fight until one, and then you die. Too bad, you should realize and accept the fact that you’ve already lost this battle.” Ogichi laughed from his perch, watching the demon below, fully ready to blink away again. Though, he stopped to think about something for just a moment, and he followed up, “You lost the battle as soon as you decided to fight against me, instead of accepting death. You have potential, but all you are now is a mad beast. I’ve realized it though, we’re being of chaos. We fight who we want, kill who we want, take what we want, and do what we want whenever we want. Maybe it’s some kindred spirit thing, maybe I just like the fact that you’re possibly almost as insane as I am. Though, in the end. I have more than enough tricks to strike end to you when I want to. Keep trying to kill me, if you want, but the end result will always be the same.” Ogichi shrugged, watching to see if the maddened demon made a response. |

His attack had ended in failure, yet again. Just as he had guessed that loud irratating grinding noise filled his ears. The sound of a fleaing man, getting around to avoid confortation with the real beast. As chaos stood and completly focused himself he realized what he was doing wrong in this fight. His attention snapped to the man who was now standing on his blade, which was stuck into a tree trunk. With all of his weapons either on the ground or attached to his waist, he was left with just his guantlets, and his raw power. Of course his raw power was nothing to match that of his adversary, but Chaos's blood would litter the mucky ground before he gave up. We both are beast, breed from Destruction and death. Dont try and deny it, everything we do, everything we are is a symbol of the pure mayhem we are. Two forces like us clashing creates a power so firece, it can be sensed even in the air. Like a wounded victem, a blood trail left for the prey to follow. We are both beast, and like a beast death will find us both. With blood dripping from his mouth chaos stepped closer, a evil grin on his face. A dark sense left his body, a sense that would all of a sudden make this demon in white feel fear, sudden fear would grip at his heart and with out realizing it a small speck of fear for Chaos would creep into his soul. Death awaits us all, no one, not even a god can last forever. With every being comes pride, bravery and strength, but also downfalls. Greed, anger...Fear. Chaos began to step even closer, his deep red and black eyes glued to the white man, every ounce focused on the man. He was waiting for what he knew was to come next. His turn to strike. |
