Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Wolfram had been wandering the forest for some time, enjoying the new life brought forth by spring. Rabbits hobbled out of holes, birds chirped in trees, even a few squirrels fled back and forth. Having come in the dead of night, it was nice to see everything waking up; as if truly witnessing spring firsthand. He turned a corner to see a rather large clearing, and smiled at the small rabbit he saw there, along with a single rose. It wasn't necessarily common to see such plant life in the middle of grass and, curious if it was not more than met the eye, he moved towards it-

Stopping abruptly when a zombie erupted from the bushes, stumbling towards the rabbit with salivating jaws. The blond frowned but made no move to save the bunny; it was nature's way after all, and the zombie had as much right to food as the rabbit. The rotting corpse leaned forwards, a large blot of saliva dropping from its gnashing jaws and onto the petals of the rose, causing it to buckle under the weight. The rabbit looked up to it and twitched its nose.

Then a beam of pure energy erupted from its throat, its eyes glowing red, and the head wastaken clean off the undead body. Its now headless corpse hit the ground with a thump, and the rabbit merely closed its jaws, eyes going back to their wide-eyed splendour. Nose twitching again, it sniffed tenatively at the rose; then it hopped off, clearly disinterested.

Wolfram spent a long time staring.
