Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

“Actually, I find it’s better than all the people you can’t trust are nice and holed up in the same place, it’s less people out there to harass everyday folks.”

She nodded a little, it was so true that it was much better to have all the bad people in the same spot rather then them running around the world doing evil things and tricking people. "you know your full of wise words Buddy, that is a good thing sometimes" she did find the pirate cove to be a interesting place in it's own way, there was many treasures and other things around. It was fun to watch the people they walked past on the street down towards the docks. But she could never take things from another person, that was just against her nature.

They arrived to the vessel and she curiously looked around, her blue eyes turned towards the dwarf when he came over to them. She examined him and found that the man seemed more friendly then the other pirates that had captured her. "Thank you sir, she is a beautiful vessel" she replied back in a friendly manner, it was after all true and the ship was rather nice...for being a ship that was.

“Ah, It’s a piece of crap, lass.” The dwarf chuckled heartily at Erin’s comment, “Though, ya got manners. Somethin’ tells me yer nothin’ close t’ bein’ a sourge of the sea. That must mean yer somethin’ special to the thief. Keep close watch on ‘er, Buddy.” Buddy chuckled in response, rubbing the back of his neck a bit.

“Oh, we were expectin’ ya later, cap’s still waitin’ for ya, though. Might not be too happy.” The stout dwarf said as he began wandering towards a door to the lower level of the ship.

“Why do I have this strange, sinking feeling that it’s not because I’m early. “ Buddy mused as he turned back to Erin with a sort of tired smile. His talks with the captain when unhappy, never really turned out well, “Iron, mind showin’ her around? Something tells me she’ll need a little bit of help.”

“I ain’t a tour service, which is why yer lucky I owe you more than one. C’mon lass.” The sward said as he waved for her to follow him, “Don’t worry about Iron. He’s most likely the only native to this ship you can trust.” Buddy said with a smile as he reluctantly made his way to the captain’s quarters.

The captain was rarely, if ever, a nice person. When angry, truly a force to be reckoned with and most importantly avoided. Also the fact that she knew everything that went on with the ship whenever it happened surely wasn’t going to bode well for buddy’s health, but probably after being used as a punching bag a bit, the captain would probably start to see things in a different light. The thief’s only worry was how long it would take to convince her that he shouldn’t be beaten mercilessly for another person’s passage from the Cove.

Erin was a little confused, first he said that none of the people could be trusted on the ship, then he said that this Iron person could be trusted. She sighed softly and raised one of her eyebrows to Buddy, then she casually walked after the pirate when he was going to show her around the vessel. It was one thing sure about the lady, people had a way to like her when in the same room as her for a longer time. Of course that was if they happened to be talking to her, something that Iron was doing when he showed her around.

The young healer did ask a few questions a little now and then, she was not sure why but she was a little curious about the ship and how things worked on it. It seemed like being on the sea was important for Buddy, as he was a pirate and all. She wanted to try to understand the charm of the sea, maybe she would understand him better after that?

Buddy’s predictions were completely accurate, which for his physical health was a very bad thing, his mental health had to have been obviously far gone since, even knowing that the captain of the ship wouldn’t be in the least bit happy, was going to beat him mercilessly. Somewhat luckily, however, was the fact that he had been through worse volleys of assault from the captain, as had most of the crew.

The door to the captain’s quarters burst open as Buddy was throw through it, tumbling noisily across the deck as he rolled to a clumsy stop. “Oh, yeah… good times on the Blind Lungs.” He said sarcastically, climbing to his feet before being grabbed by the collar and thrown towards the stairs to the lower deck. He managed to catch himself, though, so it was more like he was sloppily running as he quickly began to make his way down the stairs, he managed to make it a few steps without worry before tripping from the momentum and tumbling down to the bottom.

He lifted and shook his head with a stupid grin as he climbed to his feet and lightly jogged away from the stairs, “Captain is in a surprisingly good mood today, probably because there’s another girl on board.” He chuckled, jogging his way through the… acquired cargo as he made his way to Erin and Iron, looking back at the stairs.

It took only a few seconds more for the captain to come down the steps with a fiendish smile on her face, attractive and rather casually dressed for a captain. Buddy leaned to Erin to whisper quickly, “Don’t worry, she only beats one person a day, and for some reason whenever I’m around she reserves it for me.” And then shrugged, uncaring for the mostly unprovoked assault as the captain stared at Erin, examining her up and down through the cloak, almost as if it weren't there.

Erin blinked a little when Buddy was thrown into the room, she examined him with her gentle eyes and then she sighed a little. Pirates was so brutal sometimes, they really did need to calm down and solve things more...friendly. The lady did not say anything to the friend, but her attention quickly turned to the captain when she came into the room.

She examined her casually without a word, she could see the other womans eyes when she seemed to examine her in a careful manner. She was not going to let anyone beat anyone up when she was around, slowly she raised her hands to pull down the hood and revealed her face and the blue curls of her hair, her eyes was gentle and in all there was something about an angel around her. It also was like just by being in the room she made others feel strong, also all wounds started to heal close to her aura. "Greeting" she commented in a polite manner to the captain.

“Good lord, Buddy. Why and how did you get an Air Genasis girl from the Fangs!?” The captain exclaimed as Erin opened her mouth, turning her attention to the thief who had begun chuckling lightly as he thought of how to word things exactly right.

“Shouldn’t be any worries, I technically bought her from the captain himself, and with all the gold and treasure I was seeking to waste, I’m pretty sure he didn’t, err, follow us…” He said, trailing off as the captain started sniffing him like a dog, “What are you doing?” Buddy asked a bit confused before the captain groaned and back-handed Buddy.

“I should kick you off the ship for so much as seeing Scurve!” She exclaimed as Buddy massaged his stinging face lightly, finding even additional bits of the Captain’s wrath an acceptable price for saving Erin.

“You, you’re coming with me.” The captain exclaimed as she grabbed Erin by the wrist. Quickly in turn, Buddy grabbed the captain’s wrist with his off hand, already having his dagger in the other, “Buddy I’m giving you two seconds to let me go before I hurt you.” Buddy gave her a quick and sharp glance, almost completely mimicking the air of a rival pirate captain asserting his power over a ship-hand, fully aware that he didn’t have a ship or a crew to back him up as the captain did, “You don’t want to get into a real fight with me, captain. We both know this, we also know I don’t like fighting, but for this woman, I’ve already taken out one of the Fangs’ bruisers.” His tone was a bit cold as he spoke, only releasing his hand when the captain releaser her grip on Erin’s wrist. She smiled before trying to back-hand Buddy again, who caught her wrist with his off-hand again, this time before it connecting with his face.

“Wow, she’s special to you, huh? I’ve never seen you actually stand up to me for anything, or anyone… this is just… wow.” The captain nodded with approval as she freed her hand from Buddy’s grip, seeming to accept what just happened happily, then looking to Erin and nodding again, “Fine, she can stay, but we’re not leaving until the rest of the crew is back on-board.”

Things was getting a little hostile around there, as a result....the people could notice that the vessel was moving a little more from side to side because of a strong gust of wind. Erin sighed a little and did not say anything as they talked to each other over her, she was there and was a person! she could talk for herself to. The young healer bit her own lip and looked from the captain to Buddy and then back again.

"would you mind...not being so violante when I am in the room?" she commented softly and...they would all feel a weird calm sensation, it was like all the irritation washed away from her words alone. Calm emotions was a very useful thing to have in times like these. "It is not nice" she added, it was after all common sense that violance was not a nice thing.

The crew that was below deck all seemed to ease up, their hands left their weapons, and even the captain seemed to actually be a bit happy for once. Unfortunately, it was, for Buddy, a case of ignorance would be bliss, he was smart enough to realize that it had been Erin’s doing, and that on top of that he had been in part responsible for her afflicting everybody’s emotions to a much calmer state.

He looked down, sort of like the kid who was caught with the cookie jar, feeling slightly more uncomfortable. Things had so far been go, go, go. It was intended to be, steal from pirates, buy some things, and leave happily. He hadn’t planned for Erin to have been kidnapped by a very dangerous group of pirates. He wasn’t upset with her, but more of himself. In short, he got very insensitive when plans were interrupted, it always made him feel rushed, like if somebody caught him robbing from their home, he needed to find a quick place to hide away from the coming guard, that feelings had just sort of evolved to fit with any situation.

“Sorry.” He said quickly and sheepishly where only she could really hear it.

“We’re pirates, girl. Violence is always going to be around. Now, everybody else, get back to work!” The captain barked at the other scallywags who quickly returned to their small menial tasks before taking her leave with a rather impressed grin and nod towards Buddy for his quick actions to protecting the odd girl.

“I… uhm… sorry, Erin. That’s all I can really think to say.” Buddy said sheepishly again, though not leaving her side. There was really only one pirate on the ship other than him that could be trusted to be actually pleasant without some sort of plotting undertone, and the dwarf was on the deck, Buddy wasn’t going to quickly leave Erin’s side to a bunch of untrustworthy cut-throats who were occasionally eyeing her like a piece of meat.
