| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Visiting stables could hardly be called something Wolfram did on a regular basis. Perhaps for his works, but never to actually ride himself; the man was not terribly capable on the back of a horse. That was not why he was here today thankfully - though it was not for his work, either. A friend of a friend had brought it to his attention that someone he knew (not directly, but through the grape vine) was looking into purchasing a stallion. Something big and ferocious, supposedly - which instantly brought back memories of the horses the merchants of Istan had rode. Wolfram paced the stables quietly, looking in at the various animals to try and size them up. A few stared back quietly, clearly work animals, a few others snorting and shaking their head in disgust. It wasn't until he reached the very end that he found the stallion he was looking for however; the beast was big, almost taller than the stable, with what appeared to be a steel muzzle strapped to its head. It shook its head wildly at his approach, slamming its haunches up and down -- not really rearing though, which implied it was somehow cuffed within as well. A horrible, violent horse... Undoubtedly perfect. "Excuse me," Wolfram turned to the stable hand at his side, who stared fearfully at the stallion. "What can you tell me about that one?" |

Krieger had watched as the stallion fought against its captors after escaping momentarily from the stables. It loathed being trapped with a sheer and utter passion, it bit one of the handlers and kicked several others. The paladin wasn’t one for animals, he never stopped to figure it out after his wife died and his son went missing. Though, if he did have a love for animals it had been lost to a near endless hunt for extermination of evil forces. Being a fairly seasoned paladin that he was, Bach had studied on light beings and beings of good, other than the sense he got naturally from being near the steed, he could tell that even with its ferociousness, it could easily be a great asset it a hunt for evil. They were usually things that were paired with paladins, and Krieger hadn’t had a mount before, he was wondering if he should at least have the light steed to see if it calmed. He followed it and its handlers after they had finally captured it and dragged it back to the stall, completely locking it down the best they could. He simple stood in the stables watching it, as it did him, well after the stable-hands left. His look as he stared intently at the beast could easily be mistaken for fear, but it was pure awe. It wasn’t until the stallion began to thrash about that he even realized another being was in the stables, and he didn’t care until he asked about the stallion. Krieger looked to the man with his odd glass eyes and stared for a second before looking back at the upset stallion. “It is a being of good that wants either its freedom, or a holy master. It’s also a rare being, almost extinct, very intelligent, and knows when to use its magic properly.” He figured the other man for seeking to purchase the steed, but Krieger was contemplating waiting for the man to do so and then letting the steed decide its next actions. |

“It is a being of good that wants either its freedom, or a holy master. It’s also a rare being, almost extinct, very intelligent, and knows when to use its magic properly.” Wolfram looked to the new patron, having admittedly missed his presence upon entering. With all the commotion of horses it wasn't all that surprising, though; it wasn't as if the man was making a large deal out of himself. "A being of good?" The blond asked, cocking his head and looking back to the furious animal. "It... certainly doesn't look it." The stallion snorted hotly, the sound muffled by the steel muzzle. Both ears laid flat against its skull, eyes wide but pupils small, making it all the more fearsome. "Though I suppose anything vuhld fight for its freedom..." Wolfram glanced to the stablehand, only to find the lad had departed. Let the two men duke it out over who got the horse; if he wasn't there, it wasn't his fault. Or perhaps he'd run off to find a guard. No, Wolfram was being ridiculous. The lad had likely left to get some food or tend to the other horses. "Do you ah... know much about horses?" Wolfram asked, approaching the other male. "I am out of my element, I must admit," He laughed lightly, gesturing around the stable. "I... do not make it a habit of purchasing animals." |
