| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Wolfram had never been particularly smart when it came to his own safety. Or perhaps he was more powerful than he looked, and the use of servants all his life was simply an attempt to maintain the ruse, and in fact within that admittedly tall body was all the talent and capability of a dragon. Whatever the case, he was most certainly not a dark creature, and visiting The City of Lanterns was hardly someone of his stature and elemental tending would be expected to do. But then, anyone who knew of his nature would expect it -- perhaps not those who had known him for a short time, but certainly his servants. 'That man is a sadist,' they claimed, and 'He's a heart black as coal,' and other such ridiculous claims. He just had... expansive tastes. Unlike some of the more short-minded out there, he could appreciate the art and beauty in all things, even acts most would consider profane and heinous. Which was of course why he was here; dark beings and creatures held just as much intrigue to the man as light creatures. He felt as at home here as in Cascadia, though certainly he'd be asking no stangers for aid. If he could just slip into a few more popular areas, perhaps he could sate his need to see all manner of thing and leave unaccosted. |

Chaos cracked his knuckles, the bones in his new hands were sore. After the many years of sleeping dormant in this human body, it felt good to finally be free. But he could not get use to the uncomfortableness of it all. The itchy human flesh, the smelly odor and most of all the stupid brain function that he had. The human Zion was not a good choice for a prision in chaos's mind, but maybe that is why he was cursed to live in the body. But time was soon here to free himself, and become more than mortal, to reclaim his postion as a god. But that day was still not here. So for now he did what he always did. Walking around balefire was boring now. not like use to when you saw all types of demons, fighting and killing. Bloodshed was a daily thing back then, but not anymore. Not since humans began to inhabit imythess, and move into th edarker regions such as the city of lanterns. No this made him angery. Looking around he did not see many people around, however he did feel to sense of people, around somewhere. He could smell there blood, and sense the fear that slept inside of them. Chaos was ready to expose this fear, and take it from them. |

Wolfram continued walking the street, occasionally catching sight of passing shadows and what he thought were figures. It was difficult to discern what was actual movement and what was simply his eyes playing tricks on him in so dark a place, and briefly he wished he'd bought some lantern or some other form of lighting. The lanterns of this city, though set up at regular intervals, simply weren't enough to entirely banish the creeping shadows. Though not afraid of darkness, Wolfram was uncomfortable with being jumped. The blond continued down the street, keeping an eye out for any interesting landmarks or buildings to explore; he'd heard there was a tavern around, somewhere. It was by chance he approached Chaos, and not intentionally; he was looking to sate his curiousity afterall. Wolfram would have been happy to have passed the possessed human and continued on his way; like a lamb, he had no idea the danger Chaos posed as he moved through the lions' den. |

Chaos made his way down the street, walking around in zion's body. He hated being free and still stuck in the human body. it was like prison to him. but he had to deal with it for now. so he raied his hand to his mouth, used his long calw to pick a piece of meat out from his jagged teeth and flicked it on the ground. A large burp echoed from his mouth and he laughed about it. The odor that left his body was enough to send grown men into coughing fits. he was just a site of evil. Walking by he saw a very odd looking man, someone he did not notice and had never seen in Bale fire before. He looked human, which disgusted himeven more. His town was being over run with the foul race. Approching closer an dcloser zion let out a wicked smile as chaos approced the man. Hey you, ugly looking man. What do you think you are doing. This is my city and your kind dosnt belong here. Chaos was not going to stop an dlet the man walk by, he was going to force him to stop if he had to. No one turned their back on chaos. |

Wolfram stopped dead in his tracks, looking up at the demon; yet he didn't feel fear so much as wonder. The smell was enough to send most choking up their dinners, but then he had embalmed quite a few dead bodies; some weeks old, and one quickly learnt to get over such scents. All the same, the blond raised his hand to his nose briefly, to cease what he could of the acidic stench. "I apologize, I vhas not aware it vhas anyone's city... Are you the mayor?" The usual sarcasm most would have employed with such a comment was absent; Wolfram was wholly serious. He had come to see sights, and even grisly ones such as this figure intrigued him and set his blood pumping. Perhaps he could learn from it, given it was intelligent enough to form speech. |

Chaos already did not like this man. the fact that he looked like a human, smelled like a human and even spoke like one just made it all the worst. He wasnt going to try anything, he actually was going to let this puny man go. Chaos saw no treat in the man, he had no obvious weapon, he wasnt buff and enhanced. He looked like a lost little human. so chaos was not going to waste his energy on this man, not today atleast. But then he had to go and talk. His voice was annoying to zions ears, he had a sort of accent that made chaos want to punch himself in the face. But the words eh spoke were even more deadly. Even if it was not meant, sarcasem was what Chaos heard, and a direct attack at him was the intetion. Being a former god he was used to respect and honer, well from his fellow demons atleast. And haveing a hot head never helped. you know what! Im gonna kill you then eat you! How dare you disrespect me like that you puny mortal. With that zion's hand reached for th ehandle of his unholy cutter, Chaos let his goal of leaving him alive go, and took up the great battle sword. Raising it up over his head he snarled and glared at the man. any last words mortal? |

Wolfram's eyes widened, staring at the weapon in surprise. "Ah... please don't?" It didn't make sense why it would work when the other wanted to kill him, but it was hard to go from voyuer to participant in so short a span of tme. He had no practice! It wasn't as if the human had much in the way of protection either; his dagger, but that was for art, not killing other beings. The basics would likely still be the same, except that this work of art featured a very large sword that would cleave him in two. The blond frowned, staring at the sword. "Before you kill me, can I... touch it? Your sword? I've not seen many of such a make... I build things, you see, and time permitting I would love to examine it fully. I suppose a touch would be more realistic, though..." |

Death quaked form his body, the urge to slaughter had grown since this man had so outwardly insulted him. His veins pulsed, he squinted his eyes to get a better view on his target, everything was ready for the kill. Chaos felt pride, joy, and anger, all at th esame time. Killing this human was going to be fun, a bag of joy to chaos. So as the great sword began its decent, the blade aimed to take the mans life, chaos had no regrets. Then suddenly something happened that he did not expect. The odd man before him had asked to see the weapon, to examine it for a second. Instantly the sword stopped its decent and froze in mid air. Now most logical people would have seen through the ruse, would know it was a trick. but chaos was so full of pride that he stopped, plus his one track mind did not help. He lowered the sword and layed it across both of his outreached hands. Ummm...Sure. Her name is Ruaxel. She is a beaut isnt see. Chaos's blackened teeth shone as he smiled at the man. He was glad someone found intrest in his tool of killing. |
