Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

The Blackest River He Ever Did Saw

The Black River -- it seemed Cascadia quite fancied its misnomers. At least it truly was a river this time though, as opposed to being some cliff or desert or equally non-river item. Wolfram could not begrudge it to much anyways; there was an assortment of people, and they had been kind enough to inform him that 'The Black River' was actually a wonderful place. Wolfram quite liked meeting nice people; they were increasingly rare, and for little reason. It harmed the strangers none to tell him the truth.

Pure, crystalline water stared back at his reflection. The blond had not yet slipped into the water; wasn't confident enough in his swimming prowess after spending so much time indoors during the winter with little exercise, and didn't quite see the point when there were people within it that he could observe. Young children splashing one another, teenagers playing. A few more aquatic races had found life within the waters as well, and those fascinated him all the more because he'd not seen anything like them for the most part. Perhaps he would have to try and find some sort of... barrel for his home. Made of glass. He could fill it with some of these creatures, watch them. They did not move like the people; no, more like birds, their bodies gliding gracefully and somehow never tiring. He'd yet to see any take a single breath, or even find some area to rest at as the swimming grew tiresome on their forms.

Fascinating.
