Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Chess tied all of her hair back into a pony tail so it wouldn't fall in her face. He wasn't really sure on where to go, and she thought Adults were suppose to know everything. She would probably be happy to be underground again if it wasn't for that she was wet or lost or with some friend stranger. Why can't her life be simple and spoiled like it should be? "Okay."

Will nodded, and lit his lantern with his only dry match. He sighed, and began walking down the tunnel, placing the lantern on the bundle of cloths, holding it in place. He scanned the tunnel, watching as the rough stone gave way to smoother rock. He ran his left hand along the wall, humming a happy tune. "So, Miss Chess. Would you mind telling me why it was that you were in the boat?"

Chess wondered how convient that was that he had a single dry match, seriously? What are the odds? Like there was some kind of intervention for good and bad force mix fortune. "Well, I was sleeping, and I'm not sure how or where I got to. So no clue." She replied and noted this might be an unfun adventure.

Will nodded slowly, and began walking backwards so he could talk to the girl, "That is very interesting. So you were above ground for a while I g-" Will's words were cut off by a sudden falling sensation. Unbeknownst to him, he had walked of a ledge. It was only a four foot drop, but he still landed heavily, taking all the force. The wind was knocked out of him. After several moments, he got his breath back, and he started laughing. "I must look like a complete idiot."

Chess was looking forward and noticed the drop, before she could even mention anything Wil ended up falling. Hearing him just below she moved to the edge to see it was a short drop. She shook her head at his laughing and comment. "You look like someone who should be dead from all of their mistakes. Now can you help me down please?" She asked not wanting to jump that distance. She was still small and she could hurt herself.

Will nodded, and stood. "Would you refuse and offer to be carried?" he asked politely. He stepped toward the ledge, turned his back to the girl, and waited. He was suddenly transported back to days of old when he gave his daughter these rides around the beach, and his wife would laugh and laugh. he sighed, and began whistling an old song.

Chess shook her head, even though Will was turned a different way now. She walked forward and put her arms on his shoulder and dropped, holding herself up. "You're too kind for your own good, thanks though." She spoke and noted that she was too nice right now to ask him, but he offered so she went with it.

Will smiled. "I can't help it. I am too kind to too many people." he chuckled and began walking again. He rounded a corner, and was met with an amazing sight. "My gods..." he said quietly. Ahead of him was a huge cavern, lined with carvings in stone at the center of the cavern, stood a huge ship, old and marred with age. "Chess...have I gone insane, or is there a huge ship...and the possibility of treasure in front of me?"

Chess shook her head. Being too kind will get him hurt sooner or later or something. "Does that work well for you?" She asked before she knew that wouldn't get answered at all. Will was most likely agap at the sight. She was as well, mentally of course. That's very impressive, now how do they use it to get out of here? "You've gone insane. Because I don't see how it'll help us get out of here." She said trying to think of something, she wasn't good at this kind of thing.

"Well...it looks like there is a staircase near the ship..and we might as well fill out pockets with a bit of money." he smiled. "It is up to you. Go past the ship, and right down the stairs. Or, explore an ancient pirate ship, probably filled with gold and jewels." he crossed his arms across his chest, "You choose." He hoped desperately that she would pick the ship, although children could be stubborn. Added to that...she was a Drow child.

Chess was confused. "Eh? If there is, lets go." She said before he even spoke about the ship. When he did, she slid off of his back and stepped onto the ground. "Since when am I the boss? You can do what you want, I'm not in the biggest rush I suppose.. I'll wait outside if you want to go inside it." She said and moved towards the ship a bit.

Will nodded, and looked at the ship. His smile fell away, and he grew slightly serious, "I just want you to be safe. There are things in these tunnels, things that easily hurt people." He shook his head. "I want you to wait on that rock, right there." he pointed to one near the ship, "That way I will be able to see you at all times." He nodded again, and began to walk toward the ship. He entered the rotten, wooden carcass of a once great ship, filled with opened chests of linens and few gold pieces. He plucked these up, and stuffed them into his blue sack, tied around his spear. He felt that his coat was dryer now, so he shoved it on. As he shrugged it on, a glint caught his eye. In a corner of the room, there was a skeleton. This skeleton held a bag, and in his left eye was a crystalline, shining eye. He smiled, and walked over.

He plucked the eye out of the socket, and realized it was a diamond, a giant, diamond false eye. He nearly cried over his amazing luck. He then took up the back, and peered inside. There were papers, maps and charts mostly, which he tucked into the pockets of his coat. After examining the bottom layer of the ship some more, he moved on to the second level.

Chess shrugged and walked over to the rock and clambered up on top of it. "Don't too long, okay?" She said and wondered what his excited for this ship was all about. It just looked old and stuff.

When Will reached the top level he began laughing hystericly. Piles, and piles of ancient gold coins, enough to buy himself...well...anything. He immediately began stuffing all his pockets, and shoving his sack full of the coins. When he could carry no more, he walked out of the ship, back towards Chess. "I have a present for you!" he said happily, and pulled the huge, eye sized diamond out of his pocket. "This will fetch you a pretty penny Down There." he smiled, and began to leave the cavern, when he heard a strange noise, a woman weeping.

He stopped, and turned. His eyes were met with the sight of a floating woman, back turned, hands to her face. Will froze as the woman stopped, and turned around. Her face was pale and dead, with cold, empty black eyes. She screamed something in an ancient language and rushed Will, soaring through the air. Will immediately picked up Chess with one arm, and began to run out of the cavern, down toward The Underdark.
