Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Chaos was in a foul mood, his head was ringing and his sense were all out of whack. He could not smell very well, his vision had been blurry and he wasnt sure how well his speech was coming back. He had been trapped in that infernal human body for the last seventeen years, his entire demonic form cramped up and smashed into the life from of a tiny useless man. Zion was the name of the stupid human, but no longer was he refined to that prision. He had been in his demonic from for a day now, still trying to get use to it. Although he was still not completly free and returned he now had control of the body, zion was now the one forced to crawl into the mind and rot like the scum he was. Although chaos still had to put up with his hideous features. His body and such. But with the arrival of his claws and horns, the red and leathery skin, chaos knew that soon he would achieve total completion.

But he needed something to drink, after seventeen years of drinking what that human drink, it was time for something he liked. Not water or ale, or that disguisting beer humans consumed, no he was in the mood for blood. the soft sweet nector that people held in their body, to chaos it was a delicacy, given to him by the gods, who he cursed so. It was their fault after all. He was thrown from his rightful place as the god of chaos and forced to rot here, in the land he hated so. But his day was soon coming. For know he needed to quench his thirst.

Walking Down the streets of balefire he scratched the top of his head. His metal guantlets rubbing off dirt and pulling out a bit of mans gray hair. His new horns stood about two feet off his head and curled just a bit. He was still trying to get use to this body. He looked around and saw a few creatures lanking about. But most of them were poor deathly looking, so seemed as if they would die of they took one more breath. These were no good for Chaos, he needed a meal fit for the god of chaos. The giant metal sword across his back shined in the glow of the lanterns from the side of the street. It was eager to cut down all that stood in his path.

Why was Balefire so unwelcoming? You'd think that a City full of Drow, Vampires and whatever the hell else there may have been would have accepted a Human strolling around with relative comfort... Right? As much as Lancer would have liked to think he had been welcomed to the city, it was completely the opposite. He mainly got quick and disdainful glances from the Drow who didn't think him as a vampire of some other creature, and the Vampires would either threaten him or simply eye him hungrily... But none of them ever decided to come anywhere near him. It was odd. It couldn't have been to do with the extremely large spear which the man was walking along with in his hand... Nor the malevolent sword in wrapped in cloth on his hip... Nor the other, smaller spear on his back. Of course it couldn't.

It was rather ironic that Lancer, who was a very solitary person and wished to get no attention from anyone was usually always the centre of attention in a place; whether it be good or bad. A man dressed in bright blue clothing with three rather ornate weapons on his person would surely be enough to have gained anyone's attention. But for some reason Lancer didn't believe this and continued wearing his 'unique' clothing; the weapons could be explained by the fact they were pretty much his livelyhood... If he had one. He classed himself as a vigilante of sorts, but he had no real job or set of tasks to do...

However, the man's pondering about himself soon came to a halt as he noticed a slight glint coming from the path up ahead of him... Upon closer inspection the glint came from a rather large and rather ominous looking sword which was located upon the back of a rather large and rather ominous looking person respectively... Lancer looked him over at a glance and a small smirk lit up his since then rather serious and cold features. The horns of the man had caught Lancer's interest almost as quick as he had seen them. This man seemed to truly be a spectacle who drew attention away from Lancer. But in turn, he also gained Lancer's attention...

Lancer, being the curious man that he was had already at that point decided he was going to learn more about this 'man'... But he had just to figure out a way of doing it. He couldn't have just gone up to him and said “hi”.

The fact he was brilliantly lit up in the middle of the street with a selection of weapons on him could have gained the other man's attention; but all lancer had done was simply stand there in the middle of the road, spear in one hand, whilst staring rather mockingly at the big man who he had been thinking about a moment before... Bad move?

Chaos stopped where he was walking, he turned to face the side of the street he was on at one of the lamp post that was on a corner. He looked at it and smiled, a sleeping human was laying under the dim glow of the street lamp. He was dirty and was wearing ragged cloths. Chaos knew that this man was a homelss human cast out by the races of Balefire. And well chaos was hungry. Walking over he stopped about three feet in front of the sleeping man and kneeled down, getting face to face with the mans closed eyes. Poking the sleeping man chaos laughed and took out his letifer. Cutting the man across both cheeks and the forhead he replaced the blade and stood. He was going to wait for the effects of the sword to spread over the sleeping man, killing him in a matter of several minuets. Looking around to see if anyone was around he spotted a man standing in the center of the road, just staring at him. Chaos looked over his shoulder then back to the man, why the hell was he just staring.

Walking off the curb and up to the man and took his letifer back out, leaving the other on his side. He stopped in front of the man, which chaos could now see was no stranger to battle. He had a spear in his hand, that looked like it had seen battle before. Smileing chaos stepped close and spoke in his deep raspy voice, foul oders emitting from his mouth. Can i help you with something mister? you know if you like staering at me i can rip your eyes out and carry them around with me, maybe in my stomace, you know you can always see me then. Chaos laughed at his own humor and swung his sword up over his shoulder. Letting the blade rest on his shoulder he glared down at the man. He was just a bit taller, an d a little bulkier than the man before him, and chaos was sure he could dash this man in a second.

As Lancer continued to watch the strange man for no other reason other than boredom, he noticed that he wasn't that much bigger than him, but the horns made it appear so. The fact he hadn't been spotted by then was a slight mystery to Lancer, but as he witnessed him approach a Lamp-Post he realised that the other man's attention must have been on something else. Though, not witnessing what the man actually did, he knew it had to be something bad or along them lines as he had drawn a sword... A very familiar sword to Lancer. The sword which Lancer himself had believed he had been the only one to possess, it appeared that the man in front of him had two of them. This caused a further influx of curiosity from Lancer, as he wanted to see what else he had.

But... Before Lancer could do anything, the man in question had appeared right in front of him. It hadn't given him enough time to move and see what the man had been doing with his sword, of which Lancer had an identical one wrapped in cloth at his side. His words, though at first making Lancer grimace slightly due to the fact of the putrescent stink coming from within his mouth, brought a small, yet very visible smirk to the face of the blue dressed man. “Oh, he replied sarcastically to the man's question as to if he could help him with anything. “I just didn't know they piled it that high...” He couldn't help but let his smile widen slightly at the insult, but he knew he would finally be able to get what he wished. Information from the man.

Following up by making a remark about removing Lancer's eyes and presumably eating them, the man started to laugh for a few moments before he returned to glaring at Lancer once again. Lancer wasn't scared... To be frank he was rather amused at the man's attempt to scare him, and simply thought of him as being mentally inferior. “It's a shame,” He said thoughtfully, whilst looking to man over, in greater detail this time; trying to pick up upon anything he may have missed when he had been scanning him before. But to no avail. “You have the body of a lion, but the mind of a sheep...

He smiled and braced up slightly, readying himself in case of the man attacking him. From the range they were at, the man in front of him would have a fair advantage by wielding the blade, whilst Lancer had the long spear. But with his acrobatic finesse Lancer was pretty certain he could even out the distance between the two of them. Even though he hadn't initiated a fight between them, his insults had surely to cause something... It was just a matter of time.

Chaos always thought himself to be the best. He hated everyone, everything and even himself sometimes, but he never thought himself to be inferior to anyone else. Sure the body he was trapped in was a humans, and his skill was not yet at the power he wanted, but in his mind he could take on the gods themselves if he wanted. So sure, he got pissed when this puny mortal insulted him. How could such a weak looking man think to even match up agaisnt the power of hell itself.

" the mind of a sheep..." In truth chaos was dumb, his mind filled with so much hate and anger, he only wanted to kill everything. So sure he had the mind of a sheep, but to him he did not need smarts, all he needed was what he already had. " i dont know what your getting at boy, but my little sheepy mind would be more than happy to spill your blood here on this street." He chuckled as he grabbed the handle of his great unholy sword.

But then another idea entered his brain. Sure he was dumb but he had an act for war stratgies, and he was a master mind of killing. So a plan did enter his mind, maybe not a good or well thought out one, but one did. He replaced the sword and brought his hands back down to show no harm. Im sorry for such rude comments. You see its just that im a little upset, my friend is sick right now and im not sure what to do. You see over there, by that lamp post. He is dyeing, do you think you could help?" This trick would sure to get the good hearted man. His plan was simple, but effective if it worked.

Lancer couldn't help but sigh inwardly as the man didn't seem to really understand the insults Lancer had laid out to him simply moments before, but this was masked by a smile at the man's apparent sheer stupidity; if he was that easy to insult, Lancer assumed he would be able to wrap him around his little finger with little to no effort whatsoever. For situations such as this, the years of constant debates with paladins, which were more like Lancer simply throwing intellectual insults at them, would come in very handy. After all, though not keeping to it for the most part, Lancer was a firm believer in the pen being mightier than the sword... Or in Lancer's case, the spear.

Then the following comment about the man being willing to apparently kill Lancer on the very street they were conversing on, could only widen the blue clothed man's smile substantially. However, Lancer didn't respond at first, as he was still looking at the sword the man had in his grasp; Letifer. Otherwise known as The Black Rose of Exorcism by Lancer, due to his habit of giving weapons rather unique titles. The simple fact of his vision being drawn to it wasn't because of the weapon itself, but the fact as to how the man had one. Lancer had thought the weapon to be ludicrously rare, but as this man appeared to have two, it couldn't have been. Even though Lancer had one, it was concealed within cloth at his hip, so the man wouldn't have been able to know it was the sword.

However...

It then appeared that the man had a sudden change of heart. He re-sheathed his and then made a motion with his hand to show no harm; Lancer however did no such thing, as to be frank he wasn't really in a threatening position. The Long Spear he held was simply used as his 'walking stick' as well, due do it being far too large to be carried on a part of his body. But with the spear in hand, the other spear on his back and his own Letifer couldn't have been reached in very good time, and he would have had to discard the spear which he was holding, and discarding that sear was the last thing that entered Lancer's mind.

Oh, he was rude to me? Lancer pondered at the man's first statement but continued to listen on. Apparently what that man had been doing when he did something at the lamp-post was attending a sick friend? Lancer didn't believe it for a second. But he still nodded, as he would finally have gotten to see why the man had been at the area in the first place, as Lancer's view of it had been blocked by his sudden appearance. He would have to keep very wary if he went past this man; from the feel he got out of him, he didn't put it past him to try and stab him in the back as he strolled past. Lancer sure as hell didn't like this guy, but he wouldn't show it; he was much more content in insulting him.

Upon arrival at the lamp-post, Lancer knelt down next to the 'sick' man at an angle so he could observe the other man's movements, just in case this was some sort of ploy or strategy. Upon first examination Lancer didn't sense anything overly wrong with the man... Until he looked at his face. He had three apparent wounds; one on either cheek and one of the forehead, which were atrophying. The man simply lay there limp, clutching the lamp-post in a feeble attempt to try and make sure he was still living. The wound's atrophication had so far covered the entire top half of the man's face, and even if Lancer did help there would be permanent damage. I have to assume the big guy did it... But I also have to figure out what to do here.

Chaos watched the man, feeling a sense of disrespect and untrusting from the man. Chaos hated how people judged him based on his looks and background. So what if he was a giant smelly demon, who loved to kill things and eat people, could he not live in peace like the rest of them, could he not enjoy a meal of homeless people? But who was he kidding, these things were what made him evil, and if people stopped hating him then his job would have no use. He basked in the glory of killing things, of causing fear and having people hate him.

So this man did not faze him one bit. But he did look tasty, stronger and more healthy than the helpless man by the lamp post, plus chaos loved a meal he had to fight for. But this man looked like he was some fighter, the staves he had could have done some damage and chaos needed to be more cautious than he was used to. The man walked passed chaos, heading to the lamp post where he had been just a few minuets ago. The demon could see the man was keeping an eye on him to be safe, to make sure nothing evil was done. Oh but evil was going to be done, chaos was sure of it, but not at the moment.

As they got to the homeless man, chaos could see that the wounds were spreading, and his face was beginning to be destroyed. He loved the sight of this but tried not to show it, for he wanted to show compassion for this wretched man. So what do you think happened here, I just walked up and saw my friend laying here, with these wounds across his face. Iv never seem such a wound before and im afraid it might kill him. Of course this was a lie, he had seen that wound so many times before, as he killed and slaughtered his foes with the blade. And this man, the one before him, would also soon die from his blade.

Lancer grimaced slightly at the man behind him's words, as if he was pretending to be innocent for the atrocity which had been committed on this man. Lancer was certain it had been done by the man's sword, as the wounds were exactly the same as the ones delivered if Lancer had used his sword on a poor victim. Due to the atrophy being just around the face area Lancer had predicted that the man had received one or two not to serious cuts. Unfortunately, the homeless man was beyond saving through Lancer's abilities; even if Lancer did somehow managed to cure the wounds on the man's face, he sure as hell wouldn't be able to see again, and the damage it had done internally, Lancer didn't even want to think about...

With a sigh, he turned and looked up at the man, a show of pure killing intent on his face. What this horned man had done to the other was unforgivable... Lancer had always thought it sickening to involve innocents in anything; and people who killed innocents, or tortured them simply for fun had lost their value of life and slightly hypocritically deserved to die themselves. “What happened here,” Lancer stated venomously, was someone used an unholy weapon known as Letifer to apparently either permanently injure or kill this man.[/color]” He tilted his head and smirked slightly, before suddenly plunging his Long Spear directly into the homeless man's chest. After a couple of twitches the man fell deftly still, and after a few screams and shouts from the surrounding people, carnage ensued in the street.

The guards would be coming soon, but Lancer wasn't fussed. He had 'saved' the now dead homeless man by sending him for a better place; though it appeared he was in the wrong, Lancer believed he was completely right in what he did. The man was beyond saving, so he spared him from an unfortunate future. Lancer didn't care if the man wanted to know how he knew what the cause of this wounds were; to Lancer now, this man was scum. Worse than scum. Mainly because even scum could feel shame, and from what appeared of this man he didn't regret it for one moment. The fact Lancer knew it was Lancer was all due to the fact of the man possessing a Letifer of his own; and the horned man had stated he didn't know what had caused them wounds, when a wielder of Letifer would know quite well what did.

Standing up, Lancer removed the spear from the deceased man's chest and faced Chaos. A mixed expression of anger and killing intent hung on his face. “So, what do we do now?” He asked rhetorically. “Guards are coming and we're right by the body of a murdered person... Well, for one they can lock me up. As long as I get to beat you to within an inch of your life first!” And with those words, Lancer dashed at the man and made a sharp thrust with his Long Spear which would if hit, lacerate the side of the man's stomach, doing medium damage. The imminent fight between the two men was now about to begin... And it sure as hell mess up the street of Balefire.

OOC: Due to this topic being before Lancer got his Fused Spear and Dawn Trident, Lancer will be equipped with a Masterwork Long Spear, Letifer (Which is concealed) and a spear.

Chaos stood there, all proud like he had just done something worth an award. He peered over the man as he expected the homeless man who was apparently dieing. Chaos tried to seem sad and hopeful for the man, but the truth was he was extremly exstatic that this man would soon be dead, but he first had to get rid of the man that oppossed a threat right now. But things were about to go bad, for the both of them.

As chaos stood there, the man with the spear stood and eyed him, the red demon could see the killing intent on the mans face, like he was mad and knew what chaos had done. The man gripped the spear and chaos thought he was about to strike him, but instead the spear head trusted into the chest of the homeless man, killing him almost instantly. with a shocked expression chaos gripped the handle of his cutter, the giant unholy blade on his back. What the hell was that about, we could have saved him.

But apparently the man knew what he was up to, for he turned and threatened chaos with his spear. So he had figured it out, it was time to end the ruse and fight back. The city guards would be alarmed if things got to out of hand, but he did not care, he killed enough guards in his life time to really care. As the tip of the spear flew at choas, he tried to side step it, which did not turn out to great. So instead he lunged out and grabbed the spear with his guantlet, no pain being inflicted. He used the mans momentum and his own strength, he lifted the edge of the spear, trying to pick the man up and throw him to the ground. With his open hand he pulled otu his letifer and readied to attack if his first attempt failed.
