| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Kaess had been traveling again performing a quick visit to his mother's and master's graves before returning to monastery. It had gone quite well and he was just stopping for lunch. He stopped in an kind of triangular shaped clearing. He noted a light cloud passing over head wondering if he should fly a bit on the way back. The spring air was pleasant and there wasn't much else to do. The birds were chirping in the air and things seemed to be going fine. Almost too fine, but then again not many things could easily threaten him these days. He had come a long way from being a wanderer. It had been many many years. Where did the time go. It was then that he heard a sound of a twig snapping not to far off. |

OOC: Okay, so I promise this time to not let real-life stuff swallow me up this time. (Although I did have issues that seriously needed to be taken care of.) There were some things in life that just couldn't be explained. Those kinds of things happened to every living person at one point; but granted, most of them weren't at the complete mercy of a bloodthirsty demon at one moment, when the said demon suddenly decides to spare your life, and the next thing you know, you wake up somewhere completely different, and the person you least expected is standing over you. Somebody who had died two years ago. "...You're absolutely sure you don't remember how?" Serena asked for the tenth time, punctuated with the sound of a snapping twig. She couldn't care less about the noise made - she was more focused on keeping her limping stride from further damaging her fractured ankle. "Look," Liam sighed, exasperated. "For the last time, I don't. Apparently, ressurection isn't as exaggerated at it's made out to be. All I remember is Ogichi walking away from you and what was left of that cathedral, and suddenly we were both here in this forest. And I'm obviously not a roaming spirit." her brother added, scratching the side of his neck. "I don't know; the tavern folks say that old city is haunted. If a cathedral was reduced to rubble one day and back to normal the next, then you can bet that... Whatever." "Finally figured out that you were repeating yourself, Li?" she snorted. Despite the pain, and the wounds sustained from the previous night, today was a great day. Finding a nice place to rest and getting her leg and gashed shoulder properly healed would make it even greater, obviously. Of course, the triangular-shaped clearing they were stepping into fit the whole resting part perfectly. At least if that person standing there didn't mind-. "Oh... hell." she muttered, recognizing who it was. The guilt still hadn't gone away from what she did the last time they met, at that particular moment. And now it was too late to silently back away now, with Liam good-naturedly waving hello. OOC: To make things clear, since I couldn't post in the Treasure Hunt topic, let's just say, to fill in the gaps, that at one point, Ogichi shows up, and Serena simply bolts off in fear, leaving Kaess and whoever else was with him for dead. |

OOC: Eh that works. Kaess has gone through much since then anyways. Kaess looked up and saw an unexpected sight from his past. The last time they had met that crazy swords man had created such a mess. It had taken a lot of power to drive off the man even for a bit and even that seemed to be the sword man's choice. However, Kaess wasn't the same as he was back then. He had relied on his magic, but now he had focused his magic towards his true abilities. How much time had passed since then. There were the demon fights, but even the demon hadn't shown up for a while. His power almost returned once, but banished once again. He also had founded a monastery and was training people in the burning fist. Some of his experiences could be seen in him now. Kaess wasn't quite sure what to feel this time, so he decided with the simple decision it is better to have friends than not. She was wounded too and he knew he could help. He got up his leftover lunch easily forgotten. "It has been some time since we last met hasn't it. Sit down and why don't we see what we can do to heal you up a bit. Then we can talk about what else is wrong and what could did this to you." Activating his speed (blur) he covered the distance in a short burst and he charged his healing magic and concentrated it ready for the task he saw before him. He soon had a healing hand on the obviously wounded shoulder as he helped her down to the ground. |

Kaess's initial burst of speed had startled her, but clearly, with the shoulder gash gradually closing and becoming nothing more than a raw line, it was easy to guess that he had forgiven her. At least, she wouldn't be healing the wounds of someone who once left her for dead, at least not without a lot of persuasion. "My ankle's fractured, Kaess. Just to let you know." she blurted out, unable to say anything else, let alone a simple thank-you. At this rate, she'd never stop owing him for it. Liam snorted. "Yeah, and from the same attack, too. I'm surprised that Ogichi didn't hack your arm off entirely, or simply cleave you in half at that moment." he said, glancing sidelong at Kaess. "Oh, and I'm Liam, by the way." he introduced. |

OOC: You may need to describe Liam a bit better not quite getting the picture on what he is and I don't think he was with her last time we RPed. Kaess actually hadn't noticed Liam and still only vaguely recognized the presence and was more focused on healing the wound. "Oh well hello, how did I miss you. Um nice to meet you anyways, but do forgive me if I forget your name and why haven't you been helping her? I am assuming Ogichi was that crazy swords man from last time. Hmm.... this wound will take some time to heal, let me stop the bleeding then I will get a splint for the ankle put together." He finished lowering her to the ground and helped her stretch out her leg and ankle so he could put a splint on it soon. He continued to work and sealing the wound, but it was difficult to keep a wound this large sealed even with his magic. Digging in his bag with his free hand searching for some herbs that were good for this sort of thing. |

OOC: Liam and Serena are pretty much twins, so he looks a lot like her. As far as the rest of his appearance goes, he's a tall, thin guy wearing a dark brown cloak. "Well hey, see if you can help someone when you've lost all of your supplies in a fire." Liam retorted. "I helped her all I could, and even then, I'm surprised that she's even alive at this point. Ogichi normally doesn't spare peoples' lives, as I am sure you're aware of, err... Kaess." he added. |

Kaess found the herbs he was looking for and started pressing them on top the wound after crushing them in his fist. The bleeding was starting slow down a lot now, which was a good sign. An added bonus of the herbs was that then numbed pain. It would probably feel like the entire area had gone numb. But better than constant pain. 'Sigh people really should get some basic training in the healing arts before traveling. Ah well I suppose this is why I learned this stuff.' "I know that swords man ran into him several times. Quite crazy and dangerous, but not the most lethal thing I have seen. Still I suppose you are right that you are lucky to get away from him. I almost see him enjoying leaving wounded alive so they suffer a bit. But if you really want to help find a pair of sticks made of good strong wood and start making a splint. We should get that ankle fixed up soon so it doesn't heal wrong especially since she had to walk on it." Turning back to Serena he continued to patch the wound. Looking down at the ankle it looked okay for the moment as no bones were sticking out. He would have to look more carefully later to make sure nothing else was wrong. |

"People change with the times, Kaess." Serena sighed, shaking her head. "Ogichi is no exception. I've even gone as far as to mimic some of his fighting style, and even after a whole year's worth of fine-tuning it, he was toying with me the entire time." By now, she could feel the effects of the herbs on her shoulder wound. Well, it was better to not feel incessant pain rather than have to deal with it. "Toying with you?" Liam asked, incredulous. "You were at his complete mercy two times over. I'm starting to wonder what was going on in his head then, because he doesn't just spare peoples' lives like that." he added, becoming more thoughtful. |

Kaess just shook his head. "Doesn't sound like he has changed too much in personality at least. Well I am glad he spared you though. The world is a strange place and it sometimes work for us." Looking to Liam he seemed a little annoyed. "Didn't I ask you to find some wood for making a splint with, I don't have any with me and I don't want to leave the patient if you don't mind. I am not the strongest of healers and this is taking quite a bit of work. Some water might be nice too." He pulled out a bucket out of his bag and tossed it to him. He then went back to concentrating on the wound. The wound was starting to stitch a bit as he got the blood to clot properly and slowed the blood. 'It looks like I can stop the blood loss soon, but healing would take some time yet and movement was out of the question. |

"Oh, yeah. Sorry. I'll get right to it." Liam said, glancing confusedly at everything. Just how absent-minded could he get? "So, water and some wood for a splint..." he mumbled, turning and walking off, leaving the two of them alone. Kaess was doing more than a fine job of fixing her shoulder, but it only made the pain of her ankle that much more noticeable. "So... How's life?" she asked, just plain willing to do anything to give her mind something else to do besides focus on the one thing she wantedto go away right now. |

Kaess had found that talking did help a bit in these situations, so he talked. "A large amount has happened, but we have time I suppose. Life is chaotic after all. To start with I defeated that demon I mentioned before a few more times. May have actually finished him off last time, since I haven't seen him recently, but I have a feeling he is still around. I also founded a monastery. You should stop by some time and see the place. Hmm.... what else..... " He thought about things and felt the upper half of the wound finish sealing the blood loss and moved on to the lower portion. "Oh yes I also became an adoptive father to a boy I have been training. Cute kid and determined, athletic and more energy then many others. I guess as a result of those events I a traveling a lot less than I did. Well that is the short story for now. How about you excluding the Ogouchi.... no that isn't the right name.... well you know." Finishing his talk a bit with a few other pauses in between he stopped the bleeding completely. "Alright now don't move that shoulder or you might tear it open. Now lets see that leg." He moved on to examining the leg carefully feeling it a bit moving down to ankle to see where and how bad the damage was. Making sure it wasn't actually a break of some sort. After the inspection he applied some herbs to try and numb the pain their though that would take longer than the wound. It would feel a little cool though. |

"Well, long story short, I ran into Ogichi in some ancient city, or the ruins of a city, and I'm only alive because he, for a reason he doesn't even know, decided to spare me." she said. "I'm not sure where Liam came into the picture, though. I mean, I spent an entire year thinking he's dead, and now..." she trailed off. Just trying to comprehend it all was giving her a headache. "Kaess, I'd honestly just rather not talk about this right now. Ogichi and his death's-head grin is already etched into my nightmares, and having Liam back has completely derailed my train of thought from trying to make sense of it." |

Kaess found that the foot didn't seem that bad and started getting out some wood for a fire a bit of cloth and some other herbs that would be useful in the next parts of the treatment. "Perhaps I misspoke I meant to try and hear about other things that didn't involve that horrible person, but I understand lets just leave it at that. Ask me anything or talk about something happy." As soon as he finished laying out the materials he started a small fire and then went back to healing the wound on the shoulder. |
