Springtime; when the sun melts away the last traces of snow, woodland creatures emerge from their winter sleep, grand tree boughs sprout their green coats, and flowers blossom with natural perfume. The peoples of Imythess choose this season for an annual gathering, to celebrate the onset of a new cycle of life. This year, the festivities of rebirth have found their place at the Crystal Caves of the Memphian Falls. Throngs of people make their way through the falls, concentrated around the famed caves. Entertainers line the crowds, displaying the skills of their trades to delighted onlookers. Music, singing, dancing, fire-performances, theatrics, and even contortionist exhibitions can be seen among the many artistic attractions. Rare commodities are sold at every turn for unusually low fares, and everything is decorated with strings of flowers, brightly colored parchment, and glass beads or crystals. The most exquisite crystal garden of the falls has been prepared as the heart of the event for those who come to partake of the merriment – a site more splendid than any in recent memory. Set against the backdrop of a tall, elegant waterfall and an immense crystal cavern, the luscious, manicured garden feels surreal. A subtle sparkling upon the ground only enhances this feeling, glistening like dew that clings to blade and leaf and petal and rock. Upon closer inspection, the true nature of the garden becomes apparent. The rocks are covered in small crystal formations, the majority of which have grown into their full splendor – glittering clusters whose shapes resemble flowers. In the warmth, this variety of crystal expands and appears to blossom along with the real flowers. They are the centerpiece of every decoration, so abundant that people wear them on everything. The garden's waterfall pools into a clear pond at its foot, then flows through the center of the garden in a deep stream to supply its foliage with nourishment – and the festival-goers with a cool drink. A number of picturesque, wooden bridges arch over the six-foot stream to allow dry passage from one side of the garden to the other. The entire body of water from pool to stream is lined with large rock crystals, not only because it is beautiful but also to preserve its shape and prevent people from accidentally slipping in. Completing the scene, adjacent to the waterfall is one of the largest caves in the area. Within its gaped mouth, other festivities are observed. [OOC] Everyone who participates in this topic will receive a special, free item for the holidays! Check it out below, and feel free to incorporate this item into your posts. Enjoy the change of season! Be sure to thank Redfiver for the great ideas about this year's theme! This topic is intended for all the festival activities around the falls and garden. The dance taking place within the cave are in this topic so be sure to post about it there if you wish to participate. It is to be a mostly peaceful here, so turning it into a massacre or similar travesty is disallowed.![]() Crystal Flower Description: An exotic flower from the spring gardens at the Crystal Caves. Every year these unique crystal formations expand in the springtime warmth and appear to blossom like flowers. This crystal flower has been fastened to a small metal base so that you may wear it like a brooch, pendant, jewelery, or hair clip. When the crystal is cold it appears as a many-pointed shard of crystal structured like a closed rosebud. When it is warm, it blossoms and opens up into a flower-like crystal blossom. |

Kaess had arrived after a long trip, but he did not like missing the festival. It was one of the few times where he could truly relax. He worn nothing more than his simple monk robes as usual, but that was all he needed for now. His gold scales glistened in the light and was even reflected in some of the crystal flowers as he walked among the crystals admiring them. Having just spent much time with the dwarves who had been finishing a project for him he had learned much about stone and crystal, but these crystal flowers were an entirely new thing and they were beautiful. His time with the dwarves just improved his appreciation of it. He loved how this event reminded him of the good, beauty and peace was in this world. He stopped and looked at several stands and glanced at some performers, but he was drawn to the pool most of all. Standing on one of the bridges he looked out at the pool and the waterfall. There was an almost meditative quality to the view and he found him self soon lost in thought as he stared out. 'Truly this is a magical place. I have an apprentice who is learning quickly and the world is looking a bit brighter. I wonder what will come in the future. I wonder if I will see any of my old friends here this time?' |

Amicus knew he was lucky, and he was utterly excited when the small travelling caravan decided to pick him up and take him to something called the Spring Festival. He thanked them on several occasions for taking him, even though they had never met before. Fortunately, he believed that his thanks breeched the language barrier of him only speaking in the demonic tongue. Perhaps the people had taken him along because they were elderly and kind, seeing a lone kid wandering aimlessly down a road he knew nothing about a bit depressed and oddly enough with the ears of a rabbit. The rabbit ears were not always a part of his normal look; they were from a side-effect of a candy he had found in an oddly colored egg. He had wished, after turning into a rabbit, that he had never eaten it, and when he returned to normal, or as close to normal as he could, he had the side-effect of black rabbit ears sticking out of the top of his head, and his normal old ears completely vanishing off the side of his head. At last they had arrived to the waterfalls; there were crowds of people going behind the waterfall and staying outside to simply enjoy the scenery. Amicus leapt from the caravan, waving good-bye to the elderly couple and running along his way, thanking them once again for bringing him to this place. He quickly ran up to a line of people who were quickly moving their way behind the waterfall and followed suit. His look turned to that of utter amazement as he looked at all of the sparkling crystals within. Coupled with the site of the crystalline waters and the colorful flowers, it was a completely beautiful sight. He had never seen such amazement; His slaver had avoided taking him to anywhere actually nice. The boy ran onto a bridge that surprisingly had nobody on it and got on his knees to get a look at the water. He didn’t wonder for a moment why nobody was on the bridge; he was far more interested in the pure water. He had never seen right through a liquid, his demonic master had always given him filthy water and disgusting drinks. And this water was so deep, he could see to the bottom. He leaned in a bit closer, looking to see if there was anything in the water, and eventually he leaned too much to catch himself, he toppled over with a splash. He didn’t know how to swim. He thrashed about, the long sleeves of his strait-jacket giving no real aid to the already bad situation. |

Festival of rebirth, celebration of life and new life. Was Evals welcomed to such a thing? From words of people that were there and the few that told her about it she was. In morals of the celebration she wasn't, but would anyone pester her about it? She wasn't hiding herself under a disguise of magic for once. She didn't feel like it. She didn't even feel like going to the dance, nothing to do there yet. She might go in later when the outside got boring. She sat on the ground and leaned against the stone walls of the cavern. From the outside, at least the Crystal Garden was still beautiful, even to her. For now the Undead girl was just trying to enjoy the view of everything. Returning a few smiles to people that waved at her, not being too far from the waterfall enterance. Of course she wasn't the only person to be waiting outside but who knew their motives. Looking past a group of Elves that were chatting about something, probably about a tree or rabid bush, she saw some boy was looking at the water from a bridge. She was about to look away and at some other people but the boy ended up falling off the bridge and into the water. Did anyone else see it? Evals sat up and prepared to get up. Would she have to tell someone? Maybe save him herself? She didn't think there was enough time to tell someone what happened so she decided to go with plan B, go after him herself. What if he was just fine and didn't need help? She first walked over to a bridge where she could seem the stream he fell into. Yup, he was thrashing about. She panicked a bit, it might not be good if someone died at this festival and even she was worried for the living sometimes. With a short focus, she used the Spell Blink to get herself down there. At the edge of the water and kept her footing on one of the crystals she judged how far he was. Hoping he wasn't going to have water in his lungs by the time she reached out a hand to try and grab at his shirt. It looked odd but this wasn't the time for her to be concerning herself with someone else's dressing habits. Missed, he was too far. Hooking her foot about one of the smaller crystal she stretched out further and scraped his shirt and barely got one of her claws from her gauntlet on them. Using that as a little leverage she pulled it a little bit closer to get a loose grip on him. With a tug his shirt was in her hand. Might have holes in it from her claws but he wouldn't drown now. Now only if he would stop flailing around like a fish on water. She pulled him in an to the shore of the stream. She ended up getting one of her feet wet, stepping them in the water. Oh well, she would live... or not redie... or something. "Kid, you ok?" |

Kaess was roused from his contemplations at the sound of a commotion. He turned as saw a boy was being pulled out of the stream by another person. An odd person too, but he couldn't quite figure out why she was odd. He couldn't really tell. Still it seemed the situation was under control for the moment, but he moved over to assist if necessary. "Would you happen need some help pulling the poor boy the rest of the way out. He seems quite panicked." He offered a hand in trying to get the boy off the bank of the stream and the rest of the way onto shore. On closer inspection he really didn't get a good feel off Evals, but then she had helped a person so she wasn't all that bad. He heard her ask him if he was alright and felt that things should be alright hopefully. The boy couldn't have been in their too long. 'What a strange thing to happen. Well life is strange what was I expecting to happen and why does this kid have rabbit ears.' |

Water was rushing in and out of his mouth as he splashed and panicked. He was so distracted by fear that he didn’t notice when something had hooked onto one of his flailing sleeves. He continued flailing, panicking slightly more when he didn’t have full control of his arm. Chom never taught the boy to swim; he always had him locked in the straight-jacket, so the issue never came up. There was definitely a reason demons were feared. A few moments passed and the familiar feeling of ground returned, though he was completely drenched he didn’t have to worry about drowning any longer. He turned over and crawled the rest of the way up the sore, coughing out water and dripping from every spot; thought right now he was much moiré relieved that he could once again breathe than concerned with the fact he was utterly drenched. "Kid, you ok?" A female voice asked him, and at the moment he couldn’t tell if the bad thing he felt in his chest was the fear of drowning or being near a bad person, and quite frankly, he didn’t really care at the moment. “Ja, I. .. Ich bin okay, danke. Das war beängstigend.” He coughed, the remnants of water in his throat being expelled with an almost painful force, though it still beat Chom’s punishments, and is definitely was more preferable than dying. He shook his head a bit, trying to get some of the water off of his head as he sat on the ground, moving the black hair from his eyes with soaking wet sleeves that went well over and past his hands. “Es ist wie ich in einem regen Sturm habe.” He said calmly as he shook his now heavy sleeves. The water must have ended up adding a few pounds to his clothing, and Amicus was too distracted to notice a good feeling coming from where hc couldn’t see. “Vielen Dank für meine Rettung.” He thanked the person who saved him, seeing a strange-looking woman who seemed blind with pale skin, though, right now appearances were the last thing he cared about. |

Evals turned to what had come to her side. What appeared to be a Dragon scaled person, he offered his assistance. The boy had already seemed to have pulled himself out of the water and stood up. "I think it's alright now. Thanks anyways." She said to the scaled man, he really did look like a Dragon giving him a second glance. One of those halfbreeds? She wasn't concerned with it now, but the boy she was. The first thing he said, she intended to nod to a "Yeah, I'm fine" but nope. Some other langauge, took her a moment to recognize it. Black Speech. She hesitated to reply, she knew very little. She nodded. He said it was scary or something like that. Evals didn't really get the next part of it, something about a storm or something. Bah, why can't anyone she saves be normal or at least speak common? She was born a commoner afterall, she was lucky she even knew a third of what this person was saying. "Ich spreche sehr wenig dieser Sprache..." She replied to him slowly and picking her words carefully. She replayied it over in her head in common. "Sprechen Sie Gemeinsame Zunge?" Evals hoped that he did, this would be very tiresome. She started to pull back away from the stream to avoid sleeping and falling into it with a wrong step on these crystals. They needed to get this kid dried off. They didn't have any drying clothes lying around by any chance, did they? "Do we have any way to get him dry?" She asked towards the man that she assumed was a Halfbreed between something and Dragon. OOC: Eh, I still question why the Black Speech is German but whatever... xD Just incase anyone wants to know what I said: "I speak very little of this language..." "Do you speak Common Tongue?" |

Kaess was confused by the strange words of the boy he had never heard anything like them, but the other one had. It definitely was curious and why was this person (Evals) helping this boy, when his instincts warned him against her. Regardless helping the boy was more important. "Get him dry, well lets see ....." He thought about it for a bit no. His fire was too strong for this and too likely to cause problems. Well he did always have a few spare sets of clothes as any good traveler is in the habit of carrying. He reached into this bag and started to pull out a set. "Well not much just got some spare clothes here probably won't fit the best, but at least they are dry. The next best thing is just get him to a nice sunny spot. Its good you understand him, because I don't. Why don't you tell him I will help him to a good spot where he can change into something dry." Kaess bent down a bit ready to help the boy up. 'Now lets see where is a nice hot spot for him to lie down at for a bit. I hope he speaks common or I am going to be completely lost. |

The girl spoke in the same way Amicus did, though it was a little off he could still understand it perfectly fine. He shrugged it off as being a sort of regional inflection to the demonic tongue, perhaps whoever had taught her what she knew was from somewhere else. “Nein, ich kann nicht sprechen gemeinsam. Aber ich kann es verstehen. Es ist nicht zu differant vom Dämon zu reden, und es ist ziemlich einfach, um herauszufinden, ich Zuflucht; t konnten sie sprechen.” He said with a big smile. It wasn’t very often that one met a nice person who could speak in the language of demons. After that they seemed to be talking about getting him so new dry clothes. He looked at his drooping, sopping wet sleeves. They may have been there to restrain his arm movements, but he still liked the long sleeves. “Ich mag meine Kleider. Ich habe nicht um sie loszuwerden, nicht wahr?” He asked, looking at the yellow-scaled being that helped him up. The bow remembered as quickly as he had forgotten that the dragon-like creature had said he didn’t understand what he was saying, so Amicus turned his look to the girl which had helped him out of the water. Despite the look in her eyes, she seemed to see perfectly fine. “Können Sie mir bitte sagen Sie ihm, was ich gesagt habe? Sie scheinen eine Idee, was ich sage haben.” The look he gave her wasn’t one of utmost importance, but slightly filled with concern. He didn’t care how it was used and by who, it was sort of like a part of his personality, it hadn’t really been used to bind him since his escape from the gray fiend. |

Will was struggling extremely hard not to laugh. He had witnessed the boy fall into the water, and as he was about to run and help him, the girl flitted over, along with what looked like a half dragon, and took him out to a sunny spot. Now that he knew the boy was fine, he allowed himself a small giggle. He sighed, and walked slowly over to a small vendor, buying a bag of what appeared to be small balls of fried meat, heavily spiced and smelling heavenly. He also bought a medium sized bottle of pear wine, and walked out to where the small group was sitting, out in the glorious spring sun. He strolled over, and sat himself down next to the boy, "I thought you might like some hot food and stimulating drink to help you warm up." he smiled and held out the bottle and canvas baggy of food for the boy to take. Tulip had just arrived with Chriss who had invited her here. His master Kaess had wandered off leaving them alone before they arrived at the garden saying he wanted to think. She looked at all the different things. The crystal flowers, the waterfall, the stream and everything else was so beyond her imagination. She had never even thought the world was this big. There was so many different things to see. The carts had many good foods and neat things to look at. She didn't know where to begin and the excitement in her rose and she looked at Chris, "Where should we go first? There is so much to see and it is so pretty.... Oh it all looks so exciting thanks for inviting me again." her tail twitched behind her clearly showing her excitement at seeing this big festival. Of course she wouldn't tell him, but she was pretty sure she had a kind of crush on him after their entire adventure in the dragon spine and that being with him at the event made it even better. It would just be her little secret, which of course only made her smile more. |

"Where should we go first? There is so much to see and it is so pretty.... Oh it all looks so exciting thanks for inviting me again." Chris looked around, he examined the different things and then he looked to the girl when she asked where to go next. He sighed a little and rubbed the back of his own head in a thoughtful manner. "Weeeeelll, I say we go check out the food first" he commented and licked himself around the lips before he started to walk over to the place where they sold the food and other objects. He felt the smell and the low growl from his stomach showed that he was hungry again, yeah he was a big eater since he moved around all the time and never stayed still in one place for very long. "Yeah I'm hungry like a tiger...of a half tiger anyway" he giggled a little as he said this. |

OOC: Opps wrong account. Tulip didn't seem to be able to keep still to long either and did feel a bit hungry though she never could be as big an eater as Chris. Giggling for a moment. "Alright lets go fill up your half tiger belly and mine." Heading to the food stands there were many tasty things on display. So many interesting smells, but one drew her more than the others. She looked and saw it was a stand selling honey bread. "Oh I have to try some of that." and she quickly ran over and got some of the bread. She ran back up to him with sticky fingers thoroughly enjoying the bread, but even though she loved honey she still offered Chris half. "Um this is good you want some?" She felt that the bread was probably making a mess around her mouth with it's sticky goodness, but it was good so what. |

Chris was not one to say no to that! He was not sure what all this was...but he began to take from what he could find and did not really care what it was as long as he could eat it and find it good. The young weretiger turned his attention towards Tulip when she came and offered him half of her bread. "Thanks" he commented and accepted it, he quickly started to eat it and to be honest he did make a rather large mess when eating. It did not seem like he was used to eating in...good manners so to speak, that was never important when you lived in the forest like he did. The boy then looked at Tulip and noticed she was also a little messy, he laughed a little and it was all kind of funny. "I wonder if youy did not become a little tooo much like me back then Tulip" he commented. |

Why am I here? Why was the Tiefling there? It was a good question. One which still plagued on the mind of the crimson haired newcomer who had just that moment entered the cave which seemed to be harbouring a small amount of activity within it. The truthful answer was that his curiosity had overridden any other portion of common sense that he may have possessed as he had caught glimmers of movement from within the crystalline light; but of course that hadn’t clicked within the mind of Caius, as it seemed only natural to the man, yet he was still questioning his own actions as he did them. Hands in pockets and head down, Caius casually made his way over to where he had seen the main blur of movement, which had been something near water, as he had audibly noticed a splash followed by further actions. Upon closer inspection there was what seemed to be a lizard person thing who intrigued the Tiefling slightly, a young-ish looking girl alongside a boy who didn’t appear to be much older, if not at all, and a man who was holding out a bag of sorts. Why was it that everywhere Caius seemed to go, something or someone would happen? It narked a portion of the man slightly that he couldn’t just have a boring, mundane life. But this was diminished by his adventurous ways, which seemed to have conquered the rest of his mind. However, if the man had been trying to approach the people unnoticed, he had subconsciously failed as before the Tiefling knew it he had begun to whistle a tune, as he always did whilst walking. It was a relatively upbeat tune which matched his stride, and also resounded around the closed in area of the cave. Even though he noticed it, the man didn’t stop in his movements and was soon enough within normal talking distance with the small grouping. Though he was pretty sure the enclosed area would add to the volume of his voice, Caius didn’t want to attempt it; it didn’t feel right to do so anyways, manners cost nothing. “Yo.” With a casual movement of removing his hand from his pocket and flicking it in the air as a show of good will and a greeting, Caius lifted his head and spoke to the group. His voice held little to no emotion within it, but his ever so slight smirk showed he was at least partially interested in whatever was going on. All he had to do was wait and see... Then again Caius hated waiting. |
