Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Aegnor was slowly walking down one of the ruined streets, he was holding a slow phaze and did not seem like he was in a hurry. From time to time he came to a halt and examined the remains of the buildings around himself, he always found the city to be so depressing. But it was still the best place to be alone in, and he liked to be alone most of the time.

He had sent Emma to spend some time with a few kids her own age, so he did not have to worry about her as it was. Kind of gave a nice comfortable feeling to not have her there, he did not have to think about her needs at all times. The demon began to walk again and he casually kicked away a lose rock a few yards into a wall. He had to sort a few things out, it was very important that he did so.

Illianis was standing in the shadows again, sticking on a wall. Just like a spider waiting the juicy beetle to pass in front of her nest. Too bad the girl was not with him, two kill in one stone. Well, not that he was payed for the girl anyway, just that demonic Knight. He looked alone, in his mind, far away from here... The perfect place to be killed.

Like in every key place, the katane had a hidden suit absorbing the smell of the air. Here, desolation, and destruction... Why did people continue living here then? Hope? Foolish mortals...The elven assassin was glad to have no material attachemen. Neither emotional. Business was business, and pleasure was another thing....In his domain, it was the same. He smiled, and jumped....

The wind was again with him, no sound was made as he moves through the small distance. He kick with fullweigth transfer behind the knee to make kneeling, a dagger was falling towards the forehead... With a move as quick... Did he had the time to dodge? Or was the moolight on a dagger the last thing he'll ever see?

Aegnor slowly came to a halt, he frowned a little and seemed like he was thinking about something. But that was not the case, he was not sure why but something was not as it should be right then. The demon...dodged the dagger! The second before it was going to hit he moved to the side and the weapon hit one of the walls of a small house before it feel down to the ground. At the same move the demon also pulled out his vampire blade, it was a very impressive weapon that gave out a demonic glow, this was not any normal kind of weapon!

The dark knight looked in the direction from where the attack had arrived and the red eyes focused onto the attacker, he examined him without much care and he even seemed bored to see him. "Missed me" he commented with a low tone, "Something you want to say to me now that my back is not turned away?" he asked and pointed the sword towards the assassin. So...someone wanted to kill him? whoever this person was he was glad that Emma was not around right now.

The surprise was there indeed when the dagger hit something else the what it should have been. How was that possible! The technic was perfect, the hide, the surprise effect was prefect. Everything had been perfectly planned. He had changed outfit, he had taking on his skin the smell of the area also. Stupid demons. Why were they so superior to most mortals. Taking a defensive stance, the katane stayed silent. True assassins never spoke to their targets.

Unless in disguise and all, or if they were young and cocky they would speak. But real ones kept their silence until their target could sleep no more. Suddenly, he charged at the demon knight. Him maybe stronger then most man, but so was the assassin's in night time thanks to his lineage. Night was his mother, the one who raised him. He jumped at Aegnor. And yes he knew the meaning. Hellfire. It was elven. And so was the assassin. Imagine the scene. Darkness envellopping the fire from hell until there was nothing but smoke.

Aegnor watched the assassin with casual eyes and he shifted a little on his feet as he made himself ready for an incoming attack. Then the enemy jumped in for him, but the demon knight was ready and quickly began to block attacks with his blade.

It quickly could be noticed that Aegnor was extremely skilled with the use of his weapon, he blocked all attacks made with either the blade itself or the hilt in case the blade could not be used. The tall man repayed the attack by starting to attack back with a serie if very advanced slashes, showing that he very much knew how to use a sword. (Master on sword skill with blade) The demon was not going to say anything more either, after all he saw no reason to talk with someone that did not reply to his words.

This ...thing, this demon was far more to be expected. But still, how did he saw this attack coming? It had to have ligthning reflexes or have been aware of the assassin's presence. Which was unthougth... He was stunned to see every attack was blocked. How annoying. Once blocked he was thrown back on his feets. Tssk, it seems he would have to be dirtier then expected. He lowered his scarf and and revealed the lower part of his face.

''Hmmph, just as expected. Your skilled, but are you fast enough.''

He returned into the shadow and went to run on a house, and completly on the wall of it, he was a bit slower but he was still running up that wall. Once he was on top of it, his eyes met those of the demonic one. A eye contact that meant everything. The target was not more Aegnor anymore. How much would he sacrifice to save the girl. An assassin was not an idiot, every weak point of the target, Even psycological ones. He had located the girl's location expecting something like that to happen. After all that woman told him to not understimate that one. And he did not. He had set his first classic plan into action. Now, was time for plan B.

He was now in full run, jumping over buildings. Running on walls. Getting to the location of the girl. Better run fast. Assassin's are not known for mercy, neither pity. Run little demon, run....

Aegnor watched the assassin when he was talking, he examined him and then how there eyes meet. The demon sighed a little and shook his head, but he knew what the man was after....so typical. He quickly returned the blade back and returned back thought the ruined town. Aegnor knew his way around all the ruined streets so he did not have any problem to run.

He knew where Emma was, also that she was not at all without protection from attacks, the demon was not a fool to just leave her there without any kind of help.

Illianis was getting advantage on the feils towards the girl. He also knew about her location. As Aegnor was running in the streets, the assassin was directly going at her. On a second level of a buidling, he knew that she had a protection of sort. He jumped to the wall and climbed to the building she was in. Jumping on the wall, he went to the window. He had between two or five minutes. Two if he could pass though buildings and not bing injured by them, without getting injured and slowed down. Five minutes if he was running in the shortest part of the streets without directly getting the way the katane went.

He opened the window and took a peek into the room, the girl was with somekind of woman. Slowly, he opened the window. Feeling a look was sent to the window, he stopped. Took a few seconds, and looked at the scene again. He had to be fast, He jumped in there aiming directly at the woman with his dagger. If she could go down, he would simply need to run after the girl. Should not be difficult.

There did not seem to be any other people inside of the chamber other then the little girl and the woman, the girl was around 6 years old and dressed in a small tunic in a blue color with her hair losely hanging around her. She was sitting on a bed and seemed to be looking at some kind of book, but it did not seem like she could read and she just looked at the pictures.

The woman had a brown cloak that covered her face and she seemed to be murmuring something with a low voice, it was impossible to tell what. The assassin jumped inside and threw his dagger towards the woman, it hit her in the chest and with a small sound she feel down from the chair onto the floor. Emma blinked a little at this and looked up from the book, she looked at the woman and then to the assassin, she seemed a little surprised...afraid and yet...not? "Who are you?" she asked and moved a little backwards onto the bed.

---

Aegnor was still moving thought the city, he was not far away and he would not stop until he came to the house.

The eyes of the assassin moved quickly. The woman had fell, well it was in the chest. He gave out another blow with his dagger. If she was still alive, she would be out of use for a long while. The he stepped up to the girl. The bloodied dagger flipping in his hand. He went at her. His eyes staring into hers. Another innate ability of the assassin. The charming glare. Less powerful then the dominating vampires glare, but should work well. The katane rised her chin and spoke using a smooth voice.

''I'm...a friend of your daddy. He just does know it yet. I will help him, protecting you...

It was no lie, if the knight could get his armor off and his damn witted blade, he could take him out. Though, there would be magic problems. He smiled at the girl.

''Now, Emma, let us play outside.''

The little girl blinked and she seemed a little unsure what to do, her eyes looked from the stranger to his blade. She swallowed a little and looked over to the lady on the floor, had he killed her? "Why did you kill the lady?" she asked slowly and looked back at the assassin again with her large eyes. The girl seemed like she could not really look away from his eyes when they finally meet, she did not say anything. "Oh you are?" she asked curiously. "How can you be his friend without him knowing?"

Emma stood up from the bed and nodded. "okay mister" she said and slowly held out her hand towards him. In case he wanted to take it....after all that was what people often did do.

----------

Aegnor was not far away and he was going to be there in just a few seconds, if the guy had been hurting Emma, then he was going to kill him!

Illianis grinned as the girl gave her his hand, He took it, and opened the door where Aegnor would come up. The girl and her questions, he was laughing inside his mind. How easy this was to fool this one. Poor children, so innocent. He did not answered as soon as she fell under his charms. In the street, the demonic knigth was easy to hear coming.

Having hidden his dagger, he could suddenly pull it out with one flick of the wrist and kill the girl in one precise and deadly strike. And that, surely the ''Hellfire'' would be aware of it.

''Drop your weapons, or else....And why not this armor of yours too. Someone has already been called by the reaper, since someone had not accept fate. Do you intend to let the reaper take another innocent victim?''

What choice did the demon had? But honestly, was it because he was mortal that he cared so much about somebody else? No one had the cares of the katane, no ones. Friends, family, all those things were a weakness. His cursed bloodline also was. Could not survive daylight. Pathetic, as weak as regular mortals. Was Illianis a true, nearly perfect being? Perhaps, but himself did not cared on that point. He was more rationnal then anything else.

Aegnor quickly noticed what was going on and he saw the man with Emma by the hand, he did know that the guy was serious and would kill off the girl. The demon still had his serious face, he did not move...but what else could he do? "You win, I will drop my weapons..." he said slowly and pulled out the vampire blade, he examined it and then he threw it to the side...it landed a few feet away by a ruined building. After that he took out the whip and threw it the same way.

It did not take long before he also had taken of his armor and threw it with the weapons. The demon was dressed in a black runic under the armor, his gray hair was falling down in front of his face and he was still very serious. "so there...I am weaponless...now let her go." he told with a serious voice.

A sparkle of interest appeared in his eyes. Excellent, he was weak minded. Perhaps strong with the blade, but weak in his will. This was a thing that could never happen to the katane. But he looked at the girl in front of him, slashed in her quickly and dashed for the man. Soon, he realized that the girl was not dead, hearing hear in pain. Though, this was a wound if no one tried to help her, to heal her, she would die. nfortunetly, the only one who could was being assaulted. Pushing on the handle with his second and free hand, he aimed for the heart of Aegnor. Helped by the moolight's stroke His strength, enduarance and agility increased. The gift of his bloodline. Weaponless and armorless, would Aegnor be able to keep up now?

Aegnor glared at the assassin, the seconds passed and none of them moved. But then suddenly the man attacked Emma after all and charged away towards the demon, he showed his teeth in a angry grin and then his eyes quickly became all redish. He quickly moved to the side and dodged the incoming attack, he was not weak just because his armor was gone! The demon alos grasped something on his back and pulled out...an empty crossbow!? There was no bolts, but he seemed to have had it on his back.

He pointed it towards the assassin as he moved in a circle around so that he was between him and Emma. He also fired! It was not empty and as he fired the weapon began to fire away bolts of light towards the enemy, being of his vampire nature these kind of weapon was going to be even more painful.
