| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

A clear, cool river bubbled along gently through the wood. In the distance could be heard the sound of the thundering falls that fed this river. Small fish swam in the crystal waters, and insects skated to and fro on its surface. A family of deer had stopped for a drink at a pool that had developed off a gentle bend in the river, and under a particularly large and droopy willow a petite elven girl rested. Katrina wasn't with Bryhn this time. She wasn't quite lost, she did know how to get back and he knew where she had gone, but she wasn't entirely sure where she was either. Being alone probably wasn't good for either of them, but it was hard for Katrina not to trust the forest and lose herself in it. The wind, trees, water, and animals just seemed to call to her and she eagerly embraced them and explored. Today, she had wandered along the edge of the river for a couple hours, following some song birds and picking flowers. After awhile she realized how far and how she had walked and decided to take a rest. The sun has risen higher and the trees were a little thinner here than they were closer to the falls, and the heat had started to wear on Katrina. She had spotted the willow and sat down to rest herself through the hottest part of the day. One of the deer that had been drinking from the pool lifted its head and looked at Katrina, noticing her for the first time. Cautiously it walked over to inspect the strange girl sleeping in the shade and then lowered its head to sniff her. Katrina stirred a slightly. The deer took a step back as Katrina awoke and sat up. It stared at her quizzically, trying to figure out if she was a threat or friend. Katrina smiled at the deer, and reached out her hand, offering it some small corn she had conjured. It nibbled them cautiously at first and then eagerly licked the palm of her hand for more. Katrina giggled as she conjured up a few more pieces for her new friend and pet the deer as it ate. Suddenly, the deer raised its head and stared deep into the forest, and without another sound bolted in the opposite direction with its family. Katrina stood up, confused, and looked around for what could have startled the deer. She hadn't heard a thing or noticed any movement. After a moment she sat down again. "Must have been a hunter in the distance," she thought. Katrina began to remove her shoes and massage her feet. Her stomach grumbled and she realized she hadn't eaten in several hours. Perhaps she could take a dip in the river after she ate? Katrina scooted closer to the water’s edge and hung her feet over the side, sliding them into the water. She smiled as it swirled and splashed around here legs and massaged her feet. She then conjured some small berries and other fruits and started to eat. "Yummm, strawberries, my favorite," she said as she bit into the fruit. |

Memphian Falls were a less often frequented place for the lich, but by no means an unfamiliar one. Yaksha seemed to move through the falls with a preternatural silence, the spray of the water landing against his flesh and rolling off quickly. He paid no heed to this occurance; in fact, his deadened flesh barely even registered the droplets landing against it. But he was indeed fleshy tonight, and he could've passed for human to anyone who wasn't looking closely. Animals could still see through the guise, see to the skeleton beneath, but he knew that few of them could pose a true threat to him. Besides, tonight wasn't a time for fighting, or for death. Tonight was a time for fun, for leisure, a time to enjoy the view that could only be found at those spectacular falls. He could hear a rustling up ahead; animals that felt his presence, he would've wagered. All too often, beasts ran at his passing, steeped in fear. He spoke out in a calm voice that carried easily, and gave off an aura of soothing certainty. "I'm not going to hurt any of you, you know. I'm just here to enjoy the sights." He chuckled softly, pushing through the foliage to spot an elf, happily eating berries. He stared in silence, clearly caught off guard. He hadn't been expecting to see anyone else out here, not in a place like this! He caught himself quickly, and managed to give a half-bow as he did. "I wasn't imagining anyone else would be here. Call me Yaksha." |
