| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

It was a horribly cold night. Snow and sleet was falling heavily on to the streets, and the darkness seemed even more dense. An odd man was walking down the street, his hat clinging to his head by some strange force. He had a monkey resting on his spear, which he held in his right hand. In his left hand he held a strange slip of paper, glowing a faint gold. It had been given to the strange man by an equally strange courier; a small man with an orange tint to his skin, and long hair dyed green. The gold piece of paper was an invitation to a party, an exclusive party at a very secret candy store. He was told that he would know what the store looked like when he saw it. As he scanned his field of vision, he found what he was looking for. He came to a brightly lit storefront, windows glowing with a bright light. He saw millions and millions of different kinds of candy; chocolates, lollipops, gums, caramels, tarts- everything in a child's wildest dreams. Damascus smiled, and walked toward the door of the store. He reached for the handle, and the door immediately opened. He raised his eyebrows cautiously, and stepped in. He was greeted by ten other people, who were laughing and drinking, and above all else, gorging on sweets. He sighed and stepped into the fray. He was handed a strawberry tart, and a large glass of brandy. He sipped the latter, and nibbled at his tart. He made his way to the window, and sat down. This, to be sure, was going to be a fun night. |

Nine was the son of an extremely wealthy family, one son out of three. Their main house had been set in Taras. But luckily, he and his family had been out of town that day. Though their home was destroyed, they still had their second home in Balefire. They even had vacation homes set in Cascadia and on the beach. This week, his family were staying in Cascadia for a while, but Nine had decided to stay behind, home alone. He was wandering the streets of the City of Lanterns, beginning to feel the shadow of boredom begin to fall over him. Without his older and younger brother, there wasn't that much to do around here. Until he heard of a rumor about a candy shop, and of course, that sent the seventeen year old's spirit high to the heavens. Candy! The one glorious thing in all the world! Though he got whatever he wanted, when he wanted it, whether it be toys, or sweets, he still liked to go check out where the commoners go. As it was always interesting, and when he found something that was interesting, there was no stopping him from checking it out. It was like a craving, that couldn't be satisfied until he got what he wanted. Nine also heard something about tickets. He didn't know the point of them, but he decided to check that out. He found the person who was handing them out, and not being noticed, he pick-pocketed the strange person, never being noticed. Then he found the store with ease. And it was like heaven when he opened that door. There was candy everywhere. When he had stepped in, he froze, eyes wide as he stared at all that was around him. This was way too good to be true. The boy immediately grabbed a small lollipop, licking it and chomping it. This was really wonderful. "Whoa..." He whispered as he noticed a strange looking person, and unable to hold his curiosity back. He approached the man that had the strange ears, tossing the lollipop he had been holding, only to pick up some kind of chocolate and nibbled on it. He stood near the the taller man, eyes wide, almost like a child's as he stared at the odd being, who didn't look that human at all. "Your weird looking. What are you?" Nine asked without hesitation. Not once had the thought crossed his mind that it might be rude for him to be so blunt about asking this. ((OoC: Sorry 'bout the late reply. Wifi went grawr at the hotel, so I couldn't get on until I got home, XD)) |
