We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. The village of norwood, a small village nestled deep in the woods of norwood itself. Most inhabitants were elfs or other various creatures that lived in the forest. With its towering buildings built into the trees and its peaceful feel about the entire place. Syvarris had only been here twice, even though he lived in norwood all his life. The first visit was a rather boring one, not knowing any one made it hard to find things to do there. And his second visit was the last time he saw his brother. So he was hoping that a visit back would be fun. With his bow on his back he broke the tree line and crossed the stone path that led to the entrence to the village. He looked up to see the sun rising up behind a very tall tree that seemed to house a building. The previous night he had stayed at the lake, resting on its calm shore. But he was in need of a adventure, something to keep him busy for a while. Not knowing any other place out side of imythess he was hoping maybe somebody here would know of anything. The world to him was norwood, the only place he had ever lived. |

The chill wind blew all around her, nipping at her body like an irritated animal as she walked down the path that led to the village. Feeling the strong breeze rustling through her hair, she tilted her face toward the blessed current of air, closing her eyes and just allowing the breath of wind to surround her until it died down. Breathing in the crisp morning air, Ryze held the breath for a second or two before releasing it once more. It felt so nice to be out of the crowded city and back into the beloved forest. Feeling the first rays of sunlight peek over the horizon, Ryze felt the warming sensation driving away the chill that the wind had put upon her skin. "And the sun has risen on yet another beautiful day," she murmured softly, a smile forming on her lips. "I thank you for your blessing on allowing me to survive to see another sunrise. May I remain loved within your eyes." Once the prayer to her gods was spoken, she began walking once more, now within the village, which was beginning to stir to life after the long night. Women began going about their chores, men shuffling this way or that to reach their shop or smithy or wherever they were going. She got only a few sidelong glances, but Ryze understood that they were still tired. For all she knew, these elves could have still thought they were dreaming, and that there was not a jewel elf in their midst. Smiling at the thought of a half-asleep elven man thinking she was just a figment of some dream he was still trying to awaken from, Ryza continued on. Perhaps there was a tavern she could get some food at within this village. She had been walking for going on twenty hours, and she had only stopped to eat once about eight hours ago, so it was without a doubt that she was hungry. |

Syvarris had been wandering around town a bit, looking at all the shops and buildings that stood open for the public. People of all ages walked around, moving from place to place going about there day. He loved the sight of so many elves living in one area, all his live ha had never seen so many of his kind. Sure they were not all wood elves, but elves non the less. It was mid morning, the sun shining up over the tree tops and a cool wind blowing through the area. Syvarris loved this weather, not to hot and not to cold, just right for a wood dwelling elf. Syvarris was getting hungery, and a little tired in the legs. So he tried to find a food place, a tavern or something, but not being here in so long he had forgotten most of the places here in norwood. So he tried to find some locals who might know some fancy places to eat. But this was harder than said, as most people just walked quickly, trying to get from place to place. He could not snag anybody. So he walked over to a nerby bench and sat, looking out over the walk way. Taking a deep breath he waited, waited for someone. Then he saw her, a rather young elf. She was attractive and made syvarris just stare at her presence. She seemed to be a elf of some kind, but the exact race he could not tell. What the heck Thought syvarris as he stood up from the bench, fixed his leather clothing, and walked over to the woman. Hello there, sorry to bother you miss but I am in need of direction. See im new here and am kinda hungery, I was hoping you could help me find a place to eat. He had a big smile on his face and tried to seem as friendly as possible. Oh forgive me, where are my manners. I am Syvarris, nice to meet you. He said as he bowed and smiled as he arose once again. |

Ryze's eyes scanned each building as she passed, trying to find any sign of food being cooked, whether it was the smell, the sound, or even the sight. Unfortunately, it seemed nothing of the sort met her senses. Breathing a sigh, the jewel elf was beginning to feel discouraged, when she was completely and utterly taken by surprise by an elf that decided to walk right up to her and greet her. Yelping with fear, the elf jumped away and felt her hand fly to the dagger she kept strapped to her thigh. She suddenly realized that, as soon as she had done that, this elf meant no harm. Willing her racing heart to calm, and her tensed muscles to relax, the female shakily stepped out of the combat pose she had assumed. "F-forgive me for that," she spoke softly, trying to meet the gaze of the larger wood elf, but not being able to. Allowing her eyes to drop to the ground, she shook her head. "I've been walking since early yesterday morning, so--" A loud growling from her stomach interrupted her right as she was about to get to how she was a little on-edge from the lack of food and rest. "I'm afraid this is my first time in this beautiful village," she looked up, managing to actually meet Syvarris' gaze. Forcing an apologetic smile, she added, "I'm sorry, but I am caught in the same plight as you, sir Syvarris." Realizing that she hadn't introduced herself, she jumped again and gasped, "Oh! I haven't introduced myself! Forgive me. I am Ryze L'amyria, of the Jewel Elves." She gave a quick curtsy to the elf and stood straight. "P-perhaps we could try to find a place to eat together? Two heads are better than one, after all..." she spoke softly, the smile on her face now slightly more genuine. Hopefully this would work. She was starving, and this elf looked like he could be trusted. |

Syvarris was a little taken back by this womans act of attack. He thought he had scared her with his sudden approch and put his hands forth to try and calm her down. Seeing how she figured it out and knew that he meant her no harm, she came closer and spoke. She tolkd about how she had been walking for a while and was new to norwood. A bit of sorrow went into his body as he relized this woman could not help him out. But she was also hungery, and wanted to help out, so syvarris smiled at that. She said her name was Ryze, of the jewl elves. A hand went to his head as he tried to figure out exactly what she was. Nice to meet you! umm not to be rude but may i ask exactly what kind of elf you are, i cant say i have ever met anyone like you. He tried not to seem rude, and smiled the entire time. Her offer was to work together and find a place to eat, this made him happy for he was starving, and would not mind the company of a beatiful elf. Although he would not speak like that, he tried to be kind and nice all the time. Sure, i would love to walk with you and find a place to chow down. Umm what exactly are you in the mood for? |

Wait...did she say that she was of the Jewel Elves, or did she just pretend that she said that? She could've sworn she had told this elf that she was a Jewel Elf, but...well, it couldn't hurt to say it again. Giggling, she smiled, "I thought I told you! I'm a Jewel Elf!" Crossing her arms, she shifted her weight onto one leg and smiled slyly, "Or are you just that forgetful, Syvarris?" Giggling again, she stood up straight, stretching her arms over her head and winking. She had to admit, this Syvarris was attractive, though that was certainly a surprising thought considering she had just met the man. Trying to push the thought out of her head, she heard Syvarris ask where she wanted to eat. "Hmm...I can't say I'm picky. As a matter of fact, I say we find the first place we come across and just eat there. I'm so hungry, I could probably eat a dragon!" Shaking her head, she laughed at the thought of her shoveling a dragon into her mouth. It sounded painful, though. Probably not the best idea. "So, since you asked what kind of elf I was, I want to hazard a guess at what kind of elf you are," she said, leaning in and staring hard at Syvarris. Her blue eyes scanned his face, his hair, his eyes, trying to glean any details she could about him. Not a Moon Elf, that was for sure. Probably not a High Elf, or a Sun Elf. That only really left one possibility. "Forgive me if I'm wrong, but would you be a Wood Elf?" she asked, hoping silently that she was right and she didn't seem like a total idiot. |

Syvarris was a smart man, and normally he did not forget man ythings, but soemthing about this woman made him agree with her. See she had gotten free from her shyness just a little to try and say that she told him she was a jewel elf, not of the jewel elves. Crossing her arms and giggling syvarris smiled. He was a hundred percent sure of what she said, but there was no way he was going to disagree with her. so he chuckled and rubbed his face. Hahaha, so sorry miss ryze. Forgive me of my forgetfulness. Now they were on the task of finding a meal. Ryze wasnt really picky, and her idea was to stop and find the closest place they could. He even laughed at her dragon comment. He agreed and motioned for them to walk off down the street in sreach of a tavern or resteruant and such. So as they began to walk, now side by side, The jewel elf took a guess at to what syvarris was. He simply looked at her until she finally answered wood elf. Bingo! haha i am indeed a wood elf. You are a very smart young woman. As they continues on ward he could begin to smell the sweet baking of bread. Smoke rose from a building just down the raod, and syvarris could make out the sweet aroma of beef and pork. Pointing down the road, I do believe i smell food, comeing from down the way. Hows about we go check it out. Out of instinct he took a hol dof Ryze's hand and began to jog down the slope to the smell of food. Hopeing she would follow and not try to pull away. He wasnt sure about this new feeling he had, he never felt like this before, But it was evident, syvarris liked Ryze. |

"Ah, no worries, no worries!" Ryze replied, laughing and shaking her head. "I'm a bit on the forgetful side at times! Even the gods can forget things at times!" Clapping her hands together when she heard Syvarris confirm her guess, she giggled. "Really? Oh, how interesting! I've never met a Wood Elf before!" She paused, trying not to let curiosity get the better of her, as she wanted to ask him about the life they spent. She didn't know much about the kinds of elves...well, save for her own, and she wanted to learn more, but that was for another time. As the sweet scents of baking bread and roasting meats reached her nose, Ryze's eyes opened wider. She would've sprinted toward the tavern where the smells were coming from, but she was too worn out. Feeling Syvarris grab her hand and begin to jog, she kept up easily, her weariness making her not really care that the Wood Elf had grabbed her hand. It felt nice to have a new friend, especially a Wood Elf! Her ears perked upward even more as the tavern grew closer and closer. She felt her strength returning from just the very smell of the food cooking, and could almost taste it on her tongue. It was a good thing that she had broken free from the traditions set by Jewel Elves, who strictly required all food consumed be gathered from nature. What meat they were allowed was only to be eaten after a special ceremony to thank the animal for giving its life to nourish the elves. Ryze was infinitely glad that she had wrested herself from such stiff rules. She probably would have starved if she had to eat nuts and berries and try to kill a rabbit for meat. But no. Bread, beef, pork, oh, just the thought was making her mouth water! "Oh, it smells delicious!" she murmured, closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath of the heavenly scents. She couldn't wait to just tear into the food and regain her strength. |

Syvarris smiled a wide grin as he heard Ryze say she always wanted to meet a wood elf. This made him feel proud for a moment, and he even considered telling her all bout his life, but maybe he would do that while they ate. For now he just wanted to consume the awesome smelling food. So with her hand still in his he reached the tavern and began to slow to a walk. The door was a large wooden door with elf language writting on the doors metal outlining. Syvarris didnt even think about it as he pushed open the door into the large room. He stopped so sudden that Ryze might have run into him. The smell hit his face like a wall, his nose in delight. Everything was like culture shock to him. Elves roamed around the entire place, many different species that syvarris could not even name. The food sizzled on the grill in the back and syvarris almost passed out. With a watery mouth he walked over to the counter, hoping ryze would follow. Looking at the chef he asked for a large peice of deer. Living in the woods al his life this was what he was actustomed to. The sweet venision with its juicy meat and tender taste. He looked to ryze so whatll it be? im paying! you can have whatever you like He smiled at her as he brought out a bag of gold. He had been saving up for this trip, and now that he had a friend he could actually use all this gold he had. |

So many different sights, so many different smells, so many different sounds...all of it made Ryze just want to faint. She had never seen so many elves in one place. And there were Wood Elves, Sun Elves, Moon Elves...as she scoured the crowd, she tried to see if she saw any of her Jewel Elven kin, but with a pang of sorrow, remembered that her kind preferred solitude within the boundaries of their magical barrier. As much as they strove for peace and balance, they believed that as long as they put their hands over their eyes and ignored it, it wasn't there, and all was right in the world. They believed that if they secluded themselves, they would be just fine. It was a shame they didn't see the cities. Ryze quickly pushed those thoughts out of her mind when she heard Syvarris ask what she wanted to eat, and that he would pay for her food. She wanted to argue, but she supposed she would just slip him a couple gems later that he could sell for money. It was the least she could do, after all. Turning to the cook, she said, "Um...some pheasant would be nice...and maybe a little bit of rabbit?" Watching the man she had given her order to disappear into the kitchens, the Jewel Elf turned to Syvarris, smiling gratefully. "You're too kind, Syvarris," she said softly, "Although I must insist on paying you back. I could never impose on you like this!" |

Syvvaris smiled at Ryze then turned back to the big man behind the counter. You heard the woman! Get us some of your best pheasant, rabbit, and a little deer meat for me! He chuckled a little as he tried to seem big and tough to everyone else in the tavern. He normally wasnt a loud outgoing man, so to act like this in a public place was most likely just to impress someone, in this case ryze. Turning back to her Well our food is on the way. And dont worry, i got plenty of gold saved up for more than enough. Its not often i get to come out to the village and spend my gold. Plus i dont mind spending it on someone worth it. His cheeks turned red and he looked away a little now, hoping she did not see him. It was true that he was begining to like ryze, a little attraction was seeping into his heart. But he barely knew the woman and did not want to rub off the wrong way. So Ryze, what brings you here to the village? I take it your not from here. This was indeed obvious, but he tried to start small talk while they waited for the food to arrive. OOC-sorry for the wait, iv been busy. |

Syvarris seemed to be getting a little rougher around the other patrons of the tavern, as well as to the cook. He wasn't like that a minute ago, Ryze noted. It was quite possible he was just hungry and was trying to speed everything up, but at the same time, he would have probably acted like that toward her if that was the case. Ryze was trying to figure out what was his motive for the sudden change in attitude when he turned to her and said that he would pay, since he was spending it on someone worth it. Wait...someone worth it...? Ryze didn't really understand what Syvarris was getting at. Her? Worth it? She almost wanted to laugh, seeming to take it as a joke, when she realized he was serious. He seemed to be getting a bit flustered as well, his face turning red and his gaze avoiding her own. Wait, could he have possibly... Ryze pushed the thought out of her mind before it could even conjure itself up. She then busied herself in walking to one of the many tables in the tavern. Sitting in one of the four simple oaken chairs arranged around the table, Ryza then heard Syvarris ask his question. "Hmm? Why am I here?" She chuckled, shrugging her shoulders. "I've drifted about from village to village for a long time. I guess you could say I'm an exile--even though I willingly left." Shaking her head, the jewel elf rest her chin in her palm, staring right at Syvarris. "Now it's my turn to ask a question!" After a few moments of thinking what she wanted to ask (and thinking several times about asking why he was blushing), finally, she asked, "What's life as a wood elf like? Your kind aren't secluded like mine are, right?" She wanted to learn as much as she could. The hunger for knowledge was clawing at her...or was that just her stomach? OoC:// Ah, don't worry about it! 'Tis perfectly fine! |

Syvarris followed ryze over to the table and sat with her on one of the wooden chairs. He noticed that his attitude was a bit more friendly and over active towards the crowd around him. and he saw that ryze also noticed this. He wasnt sure if he had scared her or something like that, but he hoped not. So as they sat he smiled up at ryze. she began to tell her story a little about how she was an exile and that her kind never really go tout much. He made a small look on his face at this but let it pass as his turn to answer a qustion came. Well i dont really live with other wood elves, im sort of a loner myself, living in the deep part of norwood. Haha actually in my life i have only ever met four other wood elves, not including my family. But yea i love life in the woods, waking up when i want, hunting for food and just living with nature. Syvarris stopped talking and saw ryze looking into his eyes. He had never felt like this before, about anyone. Since living with himself he never had company or anything to keep him from himself. He didnt know what to do or what to say anymore, his mind began to go blurry and his skin turned red and hot. He thought it must have been the cooking food in the back but something was effecting him. Then suddenly his head dropped and hit the flat wooden surface of the table. He fell out unconcious. |
