| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The young weretiger turned his bright eyes up towards the tall man when he came over, he liked Tolmar better then his sister. Not sure why but the brother was much calmer and easier to get around then the sister, she was a little to much and even if Chris just meet her like once it was enough to understand that she made him very nervous. "What is it? some kind of water?" he asked curiously and tilted his head to the side. "I want to know, come Tolmar, tell me" he asked. "I am very good with secrets so you can tell me, I wont tell master you told me." He looked up to the sky but did not see any sign of his teacher on his animal, the green eyes then looked back to Tolmar again and waited for a reply to his questions. This was starting to make Chris extremely curious....and he really wanted to know now. |

Tolmar contemplated telling Chris for a bit. 'Well it might stop him from messing with it.' 'It would probably stop me.' 'In that case good enough and I can get back to work.' Looking at the boy with fake seriousness. "It isn't really water, but it is similar. The stuff is called Belchan's Night. Weighs a lot and attaches to things easily. So, don't stick your hand in or you may not be able to get it out of the barrel with out help. I doubt you want to be caring around something that almost ways more than you for an arm. Still it has it use too. Just a little bit can protect people from flames. Oddest thing though is that people still feel heat no matter how weak the flame is. Kaess probably has some training with the stuff in mind. Must have used it too since not too many people know about it. Just trying to track down this much was hard work, but if you want to hear more about that you will have to ask Tresia. Shes the story teller. Well now can I trust you not to mess around with this stuff?" He had to glance a few times at the workers and twice had to shout out some orders while explaining things to Chris. He just hoped that this would solve the curiosity problem for the moment. 'I should have asked for more money from Kaess, he said nothing about watching students in the contract.' 'Oh stop it the guy is cute and that more than pays for it.' 'sigh' 'Oh stop sighing.' |

Kaess stopped just outside the build site. He landed out of sight over a ridge and started taking out the the wood and started to pile it so that he could start a good bonfire going easily. This would be interesting it was time to see if Chris could really get the hang of the burning fist. He soon had a pile of wood set aside so he could keep the fire going all day and into the night, right after lunch of course. 'This will be a long day for the boy. I hope I am doing this at the right time.' He continued to think as he stacked the wood. (OOC: This upcoming part is going to be your next task, so be ready. You will also get your third task which you can start now. Kaess will send you into the dragon spine mountains to find his father, an old and powerful dragon, who may have a fire stone that he can retrieve. How he get the stone is up to him. I will post as Kaess dad if required. Also after these all future tasks will be done in or at least start at, The Burning Fist Monastery.) |

Chris listened in silenced when Tolmar was talking, he made a small ish sound and moved away from the barrel when he heard the he could get stuck with his hand in that stuff. Not something he wanted happening to his arm, he liked it very much as it was now. Barrel free. "I wonder what master is planning to do with it?" he asked to himself, not really to the others. He shook his head to the offer to know more about it from Tresia. "It's okay, I'm good. I understand" he assured with a smile. Well now he got to know what it was so he was not as curious anymore, now he became more curious what Kaess was going to do with the Belchan's night. The boy became more curious when the master did return and started to make the bonfires, but he was helpful so he did help his master carry wood for the fires. He did not seem to lack any kind of energy, a question was...where did he get all that energy? It was like a fire that never was going out and continued to burn and burn. Not in a bad way, just a good way. "So what are we going to do now Kaess?" he asked with a large piece of wood in his arms. |

Tolmar nodded and started to walk away. 'Well at least that is done with.' 'Oh look at that Kaess is back and stacking wood up.' 'You want to know what he is doing don't you.' 'Well of course, plus I could glomp Chris again.' '...... No just no.' Having turned back to the workers he spotted one putting a stone in the wrong place. "No that stone go over there common lets get it togeather people." He then started helping and supervising the construction with Tresia nagging him to investigate Kaess every once in a while. His response was. 'Oh just wait you get to have the body back latter tonight.' |

Kaess noted when Chris started helping. 'Good he is taking the initiative. He will shape up to be a fine person. He let this go on until Chris asked.
"It is quite simple you are going to learn how not to burn your hands today. Now finish building this up and I will get some lunch for us then we shall start." Kaess moved back to the camp getting both lunch, the barrel of Belchan's Night and a very small ladle. He soon set down the barrel and the ladle on top of the barrel. He then offered Chris lunch which was a simple sandwich of dried ham. He ate his meal in silence and then got up opening the barrel. Carefully dipping the ladle in the barrel he took out a small amount of the liquid. He then heated it over the bonfire until it looked like it was quite hot, but Kaess was watching for some hint before he had pulled it out. "Alright hold out your hands and then spread what I pour on them up to your elbow. It will feel a bit wierd, but it is the perfect way to do this training. It should last twelve hours. Also don't try this your self it takes practice to get this stuff at the right temperature." He then pours just the tiniest amount in each of Chris's hands. The substance would feel cool and light, but would stick like a second skin over where it was spread and it can be spread very thinly. With fur it may feel even weirder than for most people. "Now you will follow my movements until you get it right. You will be able to tell if any part of you would have been singed or burned and we will continue until that doesn't happen. Also don't extend past about half way to the elbow yet it takes much more training before you are ready for that." Kaess began again doing punches both slow and fast that were the same as the ones shown before. |

"It is quite simple you are going to learn how not to burn your hands today. Now finish building this up and I will get some lunch for us then we shall start." Chris became really excited from what he just heard, so he was finally going to become a burning fist? well sort of become one anyway, that was rather nice! The boy smiled a little and nodded to the instructions. "Yes sir" he commented with a happy voice and quickly continued with making the bonfire's ready as Kaess worked with the lunch. He looked to the teacher when he came over with the food, the weretiger cub accepted it and quickly began to eat. It took him around 30 seconds to eat all of it...yes he was excited so he wanted to get the eating over with. Then he spent the time watching his master....eating so slowly! God why was he sooooo slow...come on eat faster damn it! But he did not say anything...but it was not hard to read and Kaess should know a little about how the boy worked after there time together. Then finally Kaess was done eating and the half-dragon began to do the weird things with the water in the barrel. Chris watched curiusly...but did not say anything that might cause the teacher to lose focus. "Alright hold out your hands and then spread what I pour on them up to your elbow. It will feel a bit wierd, but it is the perfect way to do this training. It should last twelve hours. Also don't try this your self it takes practice to get this stuff at the right temperature." The weretiger blinked a few times and looked at the ladle with the weird water, it looked very hot. "Uhm...okay" he said and slowly held out his hands towards Kaess, he waited in silence for the burning heat he was sure would hit his hands/arms. The substance was not at all like Chris imagined, it was not hot at all...in fact rather cool. Good thing was that Chris was not in his weretiger form so he did not have any fur on his arms right now...he looked just like any normal human boy...with a tail and feline ears. Slowly the boy did as he was instructed and began to spread the weird water over his arms, he was very careful to add it all over the arms...not leaving even the smallest spot without it. "Now you will follow my movements until you get it right. You will be able to tell if any part of you would have been singed or burned and we will continue until that doesn't happen. Also don't extend past about half way to the elbow yet it takes much more training before you are ready for that." Chris listened at the same time as he spread the water, he nodded a little to show that he was paying close attention. "yes sir" he replied and made himself ready to follow the masters movement. It was not much different from before so the boy had little problem to do as Kaess did, he was starting to get a hang on how all this worked by now. |

OOC: Well next task is given in the end of this post. Kaess watched as Chris learned the hours passed, but he didn't take a single break. Even for Kaess it would get taxing to keep going, but it seemed to be working. The fire burned brighter as the day moved into the night and Kaess stopped a few times to add wood, but he didn't let his pupil stop for a moment. This was the begging of a new generation of burning fist users. 'I wonder how many others will follow this path and soon there will be place to train all the time.' As it approached midnight he looked on impressed with the boy. Allowing him to continue on. He didn't even mention the time as he saw the movements were good and clean. And he would stop the boy in about an hour after midnight. The liquid would have worn off and there would just be the finished product. He wouldn't even singe his fur when he had it now. 'Well at least on his hands he wouldn't. There was still a bit of roughness, but that part wasn't needed yet. When the boy learned that he would have the true namesake of the burning fist. "Well done you truly showed some spirit tonight. Plus you won't burn your hands ever again. However, tomorrow you will have a new task. All burning fist need to find a fire stone and that is now your task. If you want a hint try and find my father in the dragonspine. Oh and this is my fire stone, so at least you know what to look for." Kaess took out a small red stone and showed it to Chris. "Now get some sleep and be glad you learned a powerful skill this night." Kaess then moved back to camp to sleep. |

The time was really flying away as the training continued, the young weretiger was doing his best and forced himself far past his normal limits. His body was starting to tell him to slow down a little....but of course he did not listen and continued to do the same moved as before. A little now and then he gave a small glance to his teacher, it was not hard to see that the boy was starting to drain more energy then before, but he was not going to stop. Chris did not stop until he was told to do so, then he listened to Kaess words when the man was talking. He swallowed a little and removed some sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand. "I understand master, I wont fail. I will make you proud" he said and from the way he said it...he was really meaning it, he was not going to fail on this next task, no he would never fail! He watched the stone his master showed him. "But master...how will I know if what I find is the right stone?" he asked as he walked with the half-dragon towards the camp. "soo you want me to visit your father? well I can do that, I want to meet your dad and tell him what a great treacher you are" he smiled brightly and sat down and began to make himself ready to sleep. He yawned a little and rubbed one hand thought his hair. "Master....I really like you" he murmured to the man before he drifted off into a deep sleep. |

Kaess watched the boy and turned back laying a blanket over the sleeping form before going to sleep himself, muttering "I like really you too." In the morning he ate a large breakfast made arraignments with Tresia, who was currently in control and unhappy that cute Chris was leaving, to take care of things while he was gone. Finding his father was never easy and the Dragon Spine Mountains weren't the easiest to travel in either. Still soon they were off to new adventures. |
