| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

It had just been rumors Chris heard when he was in norwood village, people talked that a member of the moon children had been seen around the area of the mountains. Close to the vulcano area of the mountains to be exact, it could just be rumors but it could also be true? Chris was not sure about it, but he knew he had to find out about it. He still remembered the last time he was in these mountains, when Shadeen had fallen to her death, something he always had a hard time to forget. The journey to the mountains took a few days and after that it had taken yet another few days to actually get to Therab. But now the young weretiger was starting to get closer to the end of his journey and the massive collossus that was the vulcano was towering in front of him. He had a small bag thrown over his left shoulder, it was filled with food and other things he had used during the journey. Now it was time to see if he could find some scent out of place. Chris stopped and began to smell the air, he could feel the scent of the ash and smoke from the vulcano. It was not really a surprise he would feel that, but not what he needed. After a while of deep focus he noticed a faint scent that was a little out of place, he could not be sure. The boy took a deep breath of air and then he slowly started to follow the scent of the side of the vulcano, he made sure to make as little sound as he could just in case this turned out to be something dangerous. From time to time he stopped and smelled a few times just to make sure he was going the right way. |

Kaess stretched a bit being more comfortable then most would be near the Therab even at this distance. He was slowly clearing some rubble from the place where he planed to build the training hall. The location was quite large and was set a little above the base of the mountain. It also was positioned so that lava flows tended to avoid this spot. As a result even a few plants grew in this area. With a bit of magical protection the location would give the feel needed to learn the art of the Burning Fist, but also be a safe place. Good for meditation too. He had felt he should pass on the teachings he had learned and soon there would be a place to do just that. He had collected some money from an earlier adventure and also found this spot. 'Now all that is left is the labor.' Looking at his progress he was pleased. 'Well this is probably good enough for a moment.' He stretched a bit and walked down the a winding path that lead out to the spot he liked to eat at. The spot was a little higher and gave a view of a lava flow still active in the distance. It gave a nice view of the mountains. he had made. The path itself was hidden by a few steam vents and he would appear to be walking out of no where. Only one immune to fire could truly walk through those vents untouched. There was another way that he planed to show students, but this one was quick an convenient. The wind curled around him a bit stirring a bit of dirt as he took out a small hunk of meat from his pack, which he promptly started eating as he watched the lave flow in the distance. |

Young Chris continued his way up the side of the vulcano, he could feel the rocks under his feet and a little now a tiny vibration would be felt as some rocks began to slide down the mountain side or the lava in the underground moved. These small events was not enough to capture the little feline of guard, it was rather interesting to imagine what power this vulcano had. Chris looked up towards the top of the mountain, he watched the smoke. Therab sure had to be one of the most amazing creations in the world, not created by anything other then nature. But before his mind started to drift off the weretiger shook his head and returned to finding the scent, it was more important then acting like a child. It was starting to become stronger now, a sign that the thing, person or creature he was following was not far away now! Chris stopped for a moment and took in the air, the smells from the vulcano made it harder to track. But he was not losing the scent! The trail seemed to end at some cracks in the ground that released some really really really hot air, Chris moved as close as he dared but was forced to back away because it was so hot. He stood there and watched the steam as it moved out from the vents. "Now you really are not getting tired from doing that" he murmured as a comment to the fact that the steam never stopped. The boy was just about to try to find another way when a low sound reached his ears, something that was not steam and hot air moved further inside. As a common reaction the boy quickly searched around for a place to hide in, he found a large crack in the side of a large boulder and quickly took cover inside of it. The boy then peeked out and waited in complete silence. A few seconds later Kaess arrived out from the steam, Chris examined him silently as he walked. That guy was so familiar! He knew he had seen him at the moon keep a little now and then. Chris took a deep breath of air and then he slowly began to move out from his hiddingplace. He stopped a few yards away from the man and hesitated a little as he was not sure what to say. |

Kaess took a few moments to realize someone was looking at him. Upon seeing the person he remembered meeting this person before, but that was some time ago now. He looked up slowly from his position still slightly on guard. Wasn't he with Fara're before.... yes the one who followed her around. Come to think of it he hadn't visted her or the guild in quite some time. Come to think of it she wouldn't let him come here alone.... odd. Well better find some answer the poor kid looks a bit nervous. Now what was his name.......why do I even ask myself that.' He smiled a bit showing his toothy draconic grin. "Well hello there. I think I met you before, part of the guild right but I am afraid as ussual I have forgotten the name that goes with the face. Any ways care to join me for a bit of lunch I have plenty to share and I can try and learn your name again. Plus if allowed may I ask what bring you up here?" He reached in pulling out a few strips of cooked meat offering it. It was simple salted veal, but tasted pretty good in Kaess' opinion. However, that didn't say much since Kaess liked simple things. |

Chris frooze in his stepps as the man turned around and looked at him, he suddenly got a strong impuls to take cover or something. But in the end he just stood still and looked at Kaess with large green kitten eyes. He could see the man was on his guard from the way he had his body, a little something that added to the fact that he was feeling nervous. But now he did start to remember that he had seen this guy before in the guild, he could not remember the name...but the letter K was very familiar with him. "Well hello there. I think I met you before, part of the guild right but I am afraid as ussual I have forgotten the name that goes with the face. Any ways care to join me for a bit of lunch I have plenty to share and I can try and learn your name again. Plus if allowed may I ask what bring you up here?" Kaess confirmed the thoughts, this guy was from the guild! "Yes sir, we have meet before" he said lowly and moved a few stepps closer to him as he talked. "My name is Christofer, but people call me Chris" the following offer with food was most welcome since the meat Chris had was all dried and not very tasteful. "That would be nice, I was not even sure I would find someone here. I mean I have been looking for someone from the guild for so long" he lowered the gaze to the ground and was not sure what to say next. "Mom is missing, the keep have been turned into some fortress and people calling themselves the iron hands are hunting members of the moon children." he said this because it seemed like Kaess did not know about these news, or he would have said something? right? "I thought I was the only one left alive." |

Kaess listened to the boy for as he explained what was happening. 'His mom was her(Fara're) wasn't it. To think she has gone missing. Probably for a good reason, but it doesn't sound good at all.' "Truly some terrible things have been happening since my last visit. To think such things would happen while I was gone....." He looked a bit distance wondering what would caused this fall of his guild. He also wondered if any others had survived, surly she was alright, but were they the only ones left. A bit of golden flame seemed to glint in his eyes and off his scales in the light as he pondered these things. After a few moments he finishes his piece of meat in a few large bites and spoke up again a little unsure what to say himself. "Well I am glad you are alright for the moment. It looks there is much I need to consider. If you wish you can stay with me for a while. I only have a small camp right now as I am currently clearing out an area land. I plan to build a small monastery in to pass on my skills........ Oh yes please forgive me if I forget your name while you are here Chris as I have a terrible memory for such things." He smiled trying to look a bit comforting, but probably failing, he wasn't very good at this sort of thing. |

"Truly some terrible things have been happening since my last visit. To think such things would happen while I was gone....." Chris nodded a little to his words, it had been a good guess that Kaess had not been around the forest for a while since he was here and all. "That is why I came here to look for you, I thought you might know where mommy is. I have lived alone in the cave ever since she dissapeared, it have worked...but I am not strong like her. I have also tried to protect norwood forest from the bandits, but without the others it is draining on me." After all the young weretiger had been doing all he could most of the days, helping people and taking care of the bandits. "and without mom around I have not been able to train my skillsw to become stronger" he added after a small pause. "Well I am glad you are alright for the moment. It looks there is much I need to consider. If you wish you can stay with me for a while. I only have a small camp right now as I am currently clearing out an area land. I plan to build a small monastery in to pass on my skills........ Oh yes please forgive me if I forget your name while you are here Chris as I have a terrible memory for such things." The young boy was eating from the meat Keass gave to him, it was really nice to have some real food for once. He sat down on the ground and teared his sharp fangs into the meat, he had finnished it only seconds later and he used to back of his hand to brush it over his mouth. Then his green eyes turned to the older man and listened to his words, he smiled a little and nodded. "I would like to do that actually" he paused a little and thought over his words, there was a little something that appeared in his mind. "a monastery? what kind of skills are you going to pass on? Just a little curious" he shook his head to the last part. "It's okay, I will just have to remind you about my name until you get it all the time" he smiled a little in a rather cute manner when he said this. |

Kaess laughed a bit. "Ah then you shall be reminding me for a very long time. Still you asked what I would pass on well there is my skills as a fighter. I am quite good at unarmed fighting, but I suppose the true thing to teach here would be the Burning Fist style. It is a little hard to describe why don't I show you a little bit." Kaess flicked his hand out as flames burst around his fist dancing along his arm a bit too. The motion used was quick and subtle at the same time. Kaess let the flames dance a bit before he made them vanish. "That I suppose is the basics for the burning fist. There are many other skills gained. All are fire based I suppose. Anyways as I am the only person I know of who uses this style anymore I feel it should be taught and not die out. " He watched the boys reactions wondering if maybe there was something else he could do for him besides just a place to sleep and eat. |

Chris sat and listened to the man as he was talking, telling about his skills to pass on. It sounded rather interesting actually, but also kind of familiar for some reason. He tried to remember for a moment, thinking back to where he had heard about the burning fist before. But he was not really given the time to think before Kaess showed what he could do with the flames, the young weretiger watched with wide eyes at what he was doing. It looked so awesome! Then it came to Chris all of a sudden. "I have heard of that before, was it not some lady that was very goo with fire that could do that? What was her name? Oh....she had a dragon I think." he tried to remember but the name was gone to him, he had just meet her once before. Something with ash...fire...something like that. "That I suppose is the basics for the burning fist. There are many other skills gained. All are fire based I suppose. Anyways as I am the only person I know of who uses this style anymore I feel it should be taught and not die out. " Chris returned his attention to Kaess when the burning fist master continued to talk, he looked at him for a moment. The boy was thinking to himself, he seemed to want to say something. But he was unsure how to put it out in the right way. The weretiger started to fibble a little with his own fingers in a nervous manner. "It sounds bad if it would die out, I mean I hope you find good people to train." he began, then he paused and avoided to look at the man directly. "do you think....I could learn these skills?" he asked rather quickly, more like he just threw out the words. |

He was a little surprised at Chris's words. "Ah you knew her, she was the one helped me master this style. I believe I was the last one to learn from her. She was the one who entrusted me with passing on the style." He was pleased that the Chris had already met with her. It meant that there may be more than one reason he was interested in the boy and he expected the next question.
"Well I would certain not turn you down, but not everyone can learn it. You need a particular affinity with fire to truly learn the skills and being a good fighter is necessary too. Still if you feel you are up to the task I can test you at the campsite. Just give me a minute and I will call a ride for you so you can follow me to camp." Kaess took a deep breath and gave a roar of a call that would have scared most things, but in the distance a resoponding call of some large creature called back. Soon a large frozen drake showed up on the horizon, which was an odd sight given where they were. "That is Aelin by the way she was raised by me and will give you a lift to camp so don't be afraid." |

"Ah you knew her, she was the one helped me master this style. I believe I was the last one to learn from her. She was the one who entrusted me with passing on the style." Chris was surprised in return that Kaess knew who he was talking about right away, but then again maybe it was not such a great surprise after what he told about her. Yeah she seemed to have been a woman that knew what she was doing. "She seemed like a nice person, I just meet her once so I could not say I know her that well" he explained slowly and rubbed the back of his head for a few seconds. "you don't think there are any others out there that is teaching the same thing as you? If she have been teaching others before, maybe they also are doing like you now?" he was not sure about this, the burning fist was nothing he had heard about very often. "Well I would certain not turn you down, but not everyone can learn it. You need a particular affinity with fire to truly learn the skills and being a good fighter is necessary too. Still if you feel you are up to the task I can test you at the campsite. Just give me a minute and I will call a ride for you so you can follow me to camp." The young weretiger listened to Kaess when he was explaining, he smiled a little and nodded. "Yeah I feel up to it, I am a rather good fighter. Just because I am young does not mean I do not know how to protect myself" he grinned as he said this, revealing his feline like fangs for teeth, not really something he was thinking about that he did...just a grin. "Yeah I can wait, I am in no hurry" he said lastly and scratched himself on the side of the neck with the hand. Chris was starting to feel a little excited about this, it also made him a little nervous as he was not sure what kind of tests Kaess wanted him to go thought with. Was it going to hurt much? or did he have to be very smart...fast or something? Nothing was sure. "That is Aelin by the way she was raised by me and will give you a lift to camp so don't be afraid." Chris had shivered a little to the sound of the roat the man made, then he looked around as the other roar was heard from somewhere further away. He soon noticed the dragon as it was flying towards them, his eyes widened a little as it was not often he had seen such a large dragon before. "She is beautiful" he said lowly. Oh he wished that he also could have a dragon like that, maybe then people would take him seriously? |

"Well as I said I am the last master I know of, but I haven't met them and I have traveled the lands quite a bit, so I doubt it. Still anything is possible."
Kaess was glad that Chris wasn't afraid and even admiration. He watched as Aelin approached. "Yes she is beautiful for a drake, and strong in a fight. She even doesn't mind fire like most of her kind, but she does tend to be prone to sneezing at times so be careful. Still if you want to be impressed I should take you to see a real dragon some time. I do need to visit my father at some point." Aelin soon landed and Kaess started calming her. He then motioned for Chris to approach and showed him how to get on her back and safely hold on. At the same time he calmed Aelin. He allowed Chris to practice for a few minutes. The drake probably felt cold as ice, but even though she appeared crystal like it was clear the body was made of strong muscles of a hunter. After the practice Kaess took to the air circling around some rock formations and then descending back into the small place he had chosen for his monastery. Aelin followed behind him used to visiting him there by now. She was a little unsure about the new person on her back, but it didn't effect the stability of her flight. She was just a bit slower than usual. After landing a small tent and a few other simple camping items could probably be seen and the evidence of a large area that was clearly being cleared out for the monastery Kaess had mentioned. |

Still if you want to be impressed I should take you to see a real dragon some time. I do need to visit my father at some point." Chris was not at all afraid, he could be really afraid of a few things. Like small spaces or large crowds, worse even large crowds in small spaces. But dragons was not one of his fears, so that was just okay. The young weretiger cub listened to the burning fist master as he was talking about his dragon. "Yeah I was a little surprised when I saw she was an ice dragon" he had to admitt and the eyes looked to Kaess when he said this. Chris was also very surprised to the last thing he said, his father? "Is your father a dragon?" he asked slowly, but then he looked at Kaess and blinked a few times. "But I guess that was kind of obvious right? I mean now I sounded a little stupid, sorry" he rubbed the back of his head and blushed a little. The boy stayed back a little when the dragon landed, she was very large and he was not so sure if she was going to like him or not. But he walked closer when Kaess motions for him to, he slowly tried to get onto the dragons back as the man told him to. Aelin's body was really cold to touch, but it was not melting like snow or anything. After a few times of training he did think he had a pretty good idea how to climb onto a dragons back. Chris looked around as they where flying, he was really amazed of what he said and their was really much things to see. His green eyes moved on to look around on the camp when they landed, the boy slowly slipped off the back of the dragon and landed on his feet down at the ground. "Your going to build a monastery here? alone? It sounds kind of hard to build something like that." |

Laughing a little. "Yes my father is a dragon and no it is not stupid, there are many strange things in this world. Learning is just part of living. Also you should learn that Aelin is not a dragon. She is a drake and a smart one, but there is a large difference in power and intelligence when comparing her to a real dragon. It would be an insult to a real dragon, as it would be to compare you to a common house cat that could only meow. You understand right?"
"No I am not going to build this place by my self. I have an old merchant friend who is gathering people to help construct this place. My friend said it would take some time to gather those needed so I came here to start clearing things out as preparation. I expect they should arrive in a few weeks or so. Any ways lets start the tests. The first one is simple." Kaess pulled out a small round stone that seemed to be red in color, but would almost remind one of burning flames as you twisted it in the light. "Now all you need to do is hold this in you hand and concentrate on it. Think of something warm or think of fire. I will judge the results from there." When concentrating the stone will seem warm at the least. The stone may also react by floating up in front of Chris for a bit until he loses concentration. No mater what though he will feel a connection to the fire element in some way. Kaess will wait and request he keep trying until he can get it to float for five minutes or so. OOC: this is not one of the tasks yet that will come later. |

Chris listened when Kaess explained about his father, after that the difference between a dragon and a drake. The boy had no idea that it was such a large difference between them at all, he examined Aelin with his green eyes and then he frowned a looked to the fist master again. "I do not really see why they would be insulted that much, I mean I think Aelin can be as smart as a dragon even if she is a drake. Same as I know that a cat can be as smart as a person if given the chance" he smiled a little after he said this, he was thinking about his pack back in norwood. He kind of missed them, but it was not possible to take them with him here. "But I think I understand" The weretiger cub nodded to the part with the merchant and he got a nice picture that it was going to be great. It was a large space to build something, and if he was going to get help then it was not going to be a problem. The boy smiled brightly when Kaess talked about starting the first test. "Awesome, let's do it" he said, his voice sounded very confident. "Now all you need to do is hold this in you hand and concentrate on it. Think of something warm or think of fire. I will judge the results from there." Christofer accepted the weird stone and examined it in silence, his fingers was going over the surface and he listened to the instruction to what he was suppose to do. He nodded a little and tried to think of something warm, first he got was of course fire. But then his mind started to slip off into another direction, he began to think about the vulcano. The weretiger closed his eyes and pictured the vulcano, the hot steam and the boiling lava. The stone reacted by starting to feel warm in his hand, he did not really see how it reacted but he could feel that something did happen. Chris was very surprised when the stone left his hand, he opened the eyes and the stone feel down on the ground. The boy blushed a little and picked up the object from the ground, he listened to the further instruction and nodded. It took Chris a few times before he was able to make the stone float for a few minutes. After that it took a few more tires before he made it float for five minutes, but he made it! |
