Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

The great city of Taras;, a town known for its arena's, temples, markets and just about everything else you could imagine in a grand city. It was said that the arena would draw crowds from all over and that people would fight each other and then dine like they were friends for years. It was a great city.

It WAS a great city. Now, it was only a memory, a shadow of its former life.

Only ruins and stones covered with lapidary words to the fallen remained. The only building standing was a library, and it was there to which Umbra was traveling. The only standing structure in an ocean of stone and destruction, she moved over stones, metal and wood to get through to the lonesome building.

She took the rusted, mutilated handle of the library and pulled, finding it difficult because of the rusted, gnarled hinges that were almost one piece now. Blowing out hard she took her longsword and used it as a lever to open the door enough to get through. “Man, how much this town has changed.” She hadn’t been in Imythess for very long but definitely knew this world was different than any she knew. Squeezing into the opening she had made she pushed the door hard to get it open and walked through.

Sunlight sifted through dusty dirty windows as it tried hard to get into the library to light it, illuminating stirred up dust that floated to the floor like grey snowflakes. Taking in a breath almost choked her as she coughed to get her lungs clear. She wondered how much longer this town was going to be like this as she walked around, breaking cobwebs with the tip of her sword exploring the now desolate library.

Divschatten's Dark Lady

It looked like no person had been in the library for a very long time, the coweb covered most of the shelves. But with a closer look it seemed like the books was unharmed, a person might even have been thinking them to be protected by some kind of ancient magic?

But when the lady had walked for a bit she could noticed that the coweb was gone, to the point when the area actually seemed clean again? There was no dust here either, and further ahead a weak light could be noticed. Someone was still inside of this building after all this time? If Umbra was really good with the eyes she would notice that the shelves cleans just contained one thing. Books about dark arts and demon magic, the most dangerous kinds of magic.

"Has the town changed?" a soft voice suddenly asked from behind Umbra, a few yards away from the woman a lady was standing. She was tall and very beautiful, to the point when one actually could call her perfect. The skin was plane, but did not have any signs of anything that could be called ugly. She was wearing a red velvet dress that not did much to hide her perfect figure and shape. The woman was also holding two things in her hands, one of them was a book and the other was a wand. A black wand that emitted a gentle purple light in the area. "Yes I suppose it has, but then again it was suppose to happen. After all I was there to do it." she smirked a little and tilted her head a little to the side. "are you lost my dear?" she asked Umbra gently.

Umbra noticed as she moved in deeper to the library that something was wrong, it wasn't as dirty as it was in the front. She knew that the library was sometimes frequented but not that much. She kept her hand on her blade, ready for something to happen just in case. She knew enough to be careful, but it was likely that whatever was there was gone.

She continued to notice said subtle things but she was uncertian of who would clean only one specific area. She stopped wondering at the sound of soft footsteps behind her, turning she faced a woman, an elf who was about her own height, a wand was in her hand and it looked like it was activated. "Has the town changed?"

Umbra knew she had to tread carefully, this woman definately had the appearance of being dangerous, "Yes I suppose it has, but then again it was suppose to happen. After all I was there to do it." Umbra gave a slight flinch at the words. OH YEA this woman was definately something to watch. "are you lost my dear?"

Umbra backed up a half step to give herself some move room, it was a technique that swordsman used to prepare for a fight or flight. By keeping the back foot slightly raised it could be used as a spring forwards or piviot point backwards. "No, I'm not lost. What would make you think that?" she asked warily. She didn't like this at all.

Alice made a small gesture with her shoulders that could have mean anything from a shrug of the shoulders to a calm gesture. But most likely it was a shrug. "Because you are here I guess" was the reply she gave to the question. She did not seem to care that Umbra was starting to become a little more hostile, or she did not notice it? With Alice it was hard to tell either way, that was something that made her more dangerous.

Slowly the sorceress began to walk closer to Umbra, but she seemed to be looking at the shelf with books rather then at the woman. After a moment she stopped and gently pushed in the book she was holding into an empty space on the shelf. "I would not advice you to do anything stupid" she commented with a small smile before she turned to eyes to the other lady again. "or it could be fun to have something to do?" slowly she turned so that her entier body faced the warrior woman. Alice was not doing anything yet, but she was going to.

((and the wrong user...again...damn it. XD well it is still me))

Umbra held her breathing slow and steady, the woman was definately something of a mystery to her. "Because you are here I guess" was the womans reply. Umbra tilted her head back and stood up a bit straighter, "Why does me being here mean I am lost? Can't I just be here to be here?" she asked.

She moved slowly as the sorceress walked towards her and shelved a book she had in her hands. Umbra noticed that all the books seemed to be on dark arts. "I would not advice you to do anything stupid" The woman said. Umbra didn't need to be told twice. This woman was definatly someone to watch. First she was just appearing to be dangerous and giving Umbra the willies, mostly because she saw the title of the book the woman was reading. Now she was showing signs of being dangerous and the fact that she said not to try something stupid said she was able to trounce Umbra easily. She would have to be careful. "or it could be fun to have something to do?"

The woman faced Umbra as she dropped her hand from her weapon. Right now wasn't the time to pull blades and attack without knowing your opponent. Umbra had to use tact and brains, if she didn't she may not walk out of the library alive. "Okay... So lets say we do your idea of not doing anything stupid. Fine, I am Umbra, you are?" she asked.

"Why does me being here mean I am lost? Can't I just be here to be here?"

"Does not a person come to a library in order to seek knowledge? Without knowledge a person is clearly lost do you not agree?" a small smirk played over her visage as she said this. It was a while since she had talked to anyone in this area. "That was why I assumed you to be lost, but I see I was wrong. You clearly have both your feet tightly to the ground"

"Okay... So lets say we do your idea of not doing anything stupid. Fine, I am Umbra, you are?"

Alice smiled a little, it seemed that the girl was not a waste after all. She did have something inside of that skull. The sorceress examined her for a few seconds, then she calmly began to walk towards her. But she just walked past the woman without much care if she would try to attack, the wand was still in her hand. "It sounds like a wise thing to do" she commented softly.

"join me for tea will you? I was just going to drink some." she stopped when she was asked to tell her name, she glanced back over her left shoulder for a moment. "You can call me Alice" she replied, it was a simple name and nothing more then that. After she replied Alice continued to walk forwards until she arrived to an area that had once been used to read in. There was many table and chairs.

Leaving it as simply Alice seemed typical as Umbra followed her to the area where Alice had been "studying". Tables and chairs were aranged in a typical library way and she noticed one free of dust. Alice's "study" most likely.
