| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The sound of a neck snapping resounded through the entire area, almost resembling a crack of thunder. The body went limp in his hand, it stopped struggling, stopped breathing, nothing but a lifeless shell. He tossed the body aside with ease, lightly glowing dark eyes lifted slowly to look at the other man that stood terrified, unable to move as those demonic eyes looked at him. Slowly, the demon moved swiftly toward the man, reaching out with a clawed hand, the dark claws razor sharp. The mans breath quickened, but before he could take a step back that clawed hand wrapped around his throat. "P-please, just let me g-go." The man begged, the claws tightening around his throat, claws digging into flesh, drawing drops of ruby. The demon leaned forward, licking the mans skin where a drop of blood fell, tasting the sweet blood. A wide grin broke over the monsters face, white sharp teeth showed. The demon leaned back, watching the fear in the others face, seeming to feed off that fear, before he shifted his hand, and snapped the mans head sharply to the side. Another crack sounded through the air. The demon dropped that body too, and stood still, his expressionless face looking over the bodies of the three dead people that laid on the ground. The first one was ravaged, claw marks over his face and throat, and arms, he died of blood loss. And the other two had had their necks snapped. Isis, was the demon's name. He was thin, and not very tall, he didn't look very muscular, but looks were always deceiving. Black hair fell about his face and over his dark eyes that seemed to have a pale glow to them. Two small horns protruded from his head, and his skin was ebony. His fingers were long, and clawed. And even bat like wings grew from his back, but they were too small to fly with, but they gave him a more eerie look. "Was this supposed to be a challenge...?" His voice was quiet, filled with malice. A wide grin pulled at his lips, the sharpened teeth showed, looking like they could rip a person apart, much like a vampire could. "Humans... Break so easily." |

Darkness followed in Cassie's wake, every other lantern snuffing out in a puff of soot. The woman and her hulking escort, elbows locked, walked between the shadows, disappearing into one cloud of inky darkness and appearing in the next, their passage smooth and quick. Catching the eye of a rough couple, she squeezed closer to Samuel, the servant paying no mind. “Don't let them hurt me, Sam.” She crooned to him in mock fear, a smile playing on her face. The crack didn't draw their attention as much as the shudder, the sound itself the snapping of a twig. Her head whipped to the source, feeling a spirit enter Death. Cassie stopped mid-step, Samuel but a second behind her lead. Turning to face a wall and the doorway of shadows forming there, she stepped in. Samuel was pulled along behind her, both walking through the shadows of a building nearby. Cassie pulled down her hood, letting wavy black hair tumble free. A brief glance revealed the source of the disturbance. The demon was thin, looking to her like a toffee two kids had been fighting over. Reaching into her robe, she pulled a cantaloupe-sized orb from seemingly nowhere as the creature squeezed. Another crack later, the body fell. It lay still for a moment before giving a twitch, air distorting around it like heat on a cold day. The distortion pulled away, swimming through the air and into the crystal. Smiling, the middle-aged woman slipped it away, no bulge remaining to reveal its presence. “What are you?” She whispered quietly, but not too quietly to be heard. The tone could have been so many different things, but this question was full of curiosity, not fear. |
