| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Kaess stood in a grove of trees about a two hour walk from Memphian Falls. He had just set up camp and was watching his companion who had decided to join him on retrieving some treasure. He had been on a treasure hunt near here some time ago. They had found the treasure, but do to an encounter with a demon who had proved to be a constant problem in his life he and the group he was with had not had the chance to recover the treasure. They had even lost a member of their group to the falls that day and Kaess had returned to find the treasure sealed up again by magic. This didn’t bother him at the time since he had little need for the money, but now he did. He had charged with training people in the art of The Burning Fist and they needed a place to train. To build that place he needed money. So he had returned and found that he could not open the entrance no matter how hard he tried. However he did find an old ritual that with the aid of another could open the place up again, but it only could be performed at night on the new moon so they were just getting ready to set out towards the location."So you ready?" He asked his companion. __________________________________________________________________ In another part of the forest about an hour away from the treasure a man stood at a full six foot three with a massive sword on his back that seemed to have evil cleaning to it. There was also the strong scent of blood surrounding the large blade. The sword seemed like it should be unwieldy even for the strong man, but he seemed to fit the man more than any other blade would. There was something clearly off about this man as if he wasn’t what he seemed and something far worse than the imposing figure of this man. There was a fire in the center of the camp he had made. Looking down you could see the man’s shadow didn’t match the body of the man. It seemed to have a demonic shape to it that was unclear, but produced an aura and occasionally it looked like there were red eyes peering out from it. He moved forward a bit as he saw a figure approach, he was expecting at least one person to come to his aid tonight. The demon, Zelothtith, waited in his cramped prison of a human body as those who would aid his escape came with in sight. Those who came would have responded to his dark energy clearly inviting them with a promise that would tempt them. He had plans one of which involved killing a certain half-dragon he was certain would show up, but this time he would have more than minions with him he would have powerful people to aid him this time. Thinking, ‘I will have my power back too.’ as he greeted his guests “Welcome do join me it is a short time we have and much to discuss. I am sure you have many questions of me so please sit if you wish and we shall talk about it all.” He gestured with a simple movement that showed the bit of respect these talent who were joining him. |

"So, you ready?" The voice roused Serena from her reverie. She blinked, looked at Kaess, and nodded. "Of course." she answered, walking away from the tree she had been leaning against. It had seemed like a good idea to join Kaess on his treasure hunt, even if there was a demon involved. She had fought demons before and lived. Besides, both she and Kaess needed some extra money, so there wasn't really much to lose by this adventure, not counting their lives. "So, where to? she inquired. "As much as I hate to say it, I've never travelled in this region before." |

Blake was in his wolf form along with Jin, Windrunner, and Iken. These wolves were not the normal size of other wolves. Blake was the largest of the wolves. He wandered with them. He was just scouting out the area. He had killed his target just a few days ago and felt like he needed a break or vacation. He did just do Shadow Society a lot of help. He was out just helping his wolves to get some lunch. Blake smelled the air around him. He smelled something strange and decided to find whatever this scent was. Blake wanted some fun and to learn more sword skills and sword styles if he had the free time. This scent smelled dangerous, but behind that scent of pure evil was a pure scent. A burnt and dragon, kind of scent a peaceful one too. Blake growled and allowed his wolves to follow the scent. After a few minutes, Blake found where the brunt and dragon scent got really close. Blake entered the grove. He hoped he did not scare this strange being and his companion. Blake transformed back into his human form and his three wolves followed him. ”I advise you to watch your back. For a day or two maybe even longer a dangerous person has been following you. My name is Blake Byte. If you need help right this instant, ask right away.” |

Kaess had made sure he knew the way and started to respond to Serena, "It should take us about an hour this way. We should come out a little ways from the top of the falls. Then......" He stopped as a set of wolves came out of the forest. He was always cautious of wolves, but they usually wouldn't bother him. He watched as one took a human form. 'Interesting I wonder who this is ' He listened to the what the man had to say. He was interested that the instinct that he would run into that demon again was true. The man named Blake felt different. He didn't seem to be lying, but instinct said to be careful.' He decided to accept the offer of help. It was better to keep unknown elements where he could watch them. He looked at Serena hoping her thoughts were similar to his. "Thank you for the warning Blake. I had been hopping that demon wasn't here, but I did have a feeling he might show up. If it is the same demon I expect it is, I could use help dealing with it. You wouldn't happen to know exactly where the demon is would you." |

Zelothith didn't wait long, before a figure detached itself from the shadows, his long, slender fingers steepled together as he spoke in a cold, almost apathetic tone. "Hello, old friend. It's been some time, hasn't it? So many memories, so many people we've had so much fun with. I'd almost forgot your face..." He seemed almost to glide towards the demon, his long, thin frame accentuating his eerie aura of power. There was the faintest smile on his face as he sat cross-legged before Zelothith and nodded slightly. "I believe I have heard tell that you need assistance. Please, old friend, do tell me what I've missed, after so very long..." |

Zelothtith smiled in return and inhumane teeth showed and evidence of something moving under his skin like thousands of spikes. Clear evidence, showing he had reclaimed some of his former power since the last time they met. Yaksha would probably know that this power had been robed from him long long ago by four powerful creatures, a rival demon, a celestial, a dwarf rune master and an elvish mage. "Ah it has been a while. I have had some problems getting something that belong to me, but I got several in the end so far. As you can probably see. Still one, a half dragon, has been an annoyance at every step. He even had the gall to throw me into the plane of fire last time and try and seal me in there. I believe him to be an ancestor of that cursed elven mage. Yet again I have found him in my way and I felt I should get some help to lessen the annoyance. Especially since my minions have proved less then satisfactory in dealing with him permanently. Plus your unique self can get a certain object I can't. There is a treasure not far sealed away. Inside is a ruby mace that I can not touch do to certain old wards but I need it. If you help me retrieve it and open a certain object for me I would be most grateful. Plus you can have all the fun you want and take what you like from the treasure. You can even keep the ruby mace once I am done with it. So what do you say old friend?" He waited for Yaksha reply still smiling demonicly, and remembered he must be careful around this one. Though quite useful he could be trouble too, but then who wasn't. |

"It should take us about an hour this way. We should come out a little ways from the top of the falls. Then..." Kaess trailed off, staring at a group of wolves that had just entered the clearing. It was not much of a surprise to Serena to see them, due to the fact that not too long ago, dinner was being cooked over the campfire. However, it really was a surprise to see one of the wolves turn into a human. Well, he hadn't been hostile this far in... "I advise you to watch your back. For a day or two maybe even longer a dangerous person has been following you. My name is Blake Byte. If you need help right this instant, ask right away.” the man offered. She wasn't sure whether this Blake was telling the truth or not, but Kaess seemed to know it was true. "Thank you for the warning Blake. I had been hopping that demon wasn't here, but I did have a feeling he might show up. If it is the same demon I expect it is, I could use help dealing with it. You wouldn't happen to know exactly where the demon is, would you?" he asked. "Or if there's another demon accompanying him, who goes by the name Horo Ogichi?" she abruptly inquired. She wasn't sure if Kaess remembered him, but she'd never forget the sound of his insane laughter that foreshadowed a massacre. |

Blake was just getting used to the demonic smell until a very familiar smell came out of nowhere. Blake thought Yaksha was here. Blake knew that Yaksha sided with the neutral side of the Shadow Society, but Blake well knew that Yaksha was not neutral when it came to desires and combat. The wretched smell proved the whole point. Blake snapped back to reality. The strange fellow never told him his name. ”Well if that was possible I would not come here, I would have confronted the demon and fought him. I can chase after him, but he masked his smell within the region. I can help you fight him. It is quite decent courtesy to exchange names after greeting each other. That was how I did it a hundred and some years ago. Oh and the man by the name of Ogichi, I have heard of him, but my nose only tells me what kind of person they are. Evil, sinner, good, neutral, half dragon, angel, or well you get the jiff. There seems to be only one demon with them.” Blake with held the information about his Shadow Society leader. He did not lie, but just told half truth. There was no other demon just a lich following that demon. Blake unsheathes Frostbyte and told his wolves to stalk the group through a long distance. ”They will come back once we are true danger. I hope this battle won’t take too long. What are you after if you do not mind me asking?” |

Kaess watched the wolves move away and wondered how much he could trust this person. He was somewhat glad that the crazy demon Serena mentioned had not been sensed by this person. That man was dangerous and demon himself was dangerous. "Ah I did not mention my name, my apologies the name is Kaess. It is too bad you don't know the location of the demon. It would have been nice to know when he would attack. Still no use wasting especially since I expect we will have limited time now until the enemy arrives. Follow me if you wish and we will talk on the way." He started to move, but had fallen into a more combat oriented walk, which could easily fall into any fighting form he needed. He also glanced at Serena with a look, which said 'Stay on guard and watch everything.' He felt a bit of water hit him and glanced at the sky noting that clouds had started to move in, it looked like it might rain soon, not the best of conditions to be in. "Since you are coming with us I might as well say we are going after some treasure I know of, simply because I need money. However, this was also the place I first met a demon, who is probably the same one you detected. I would only guess that he needs something here too." Kaess did not tell the entire story, but it was unnecessary and far too complicated these days. He left out too that the demon had been killed at least three times now and had resurrected somewhere each time. Not to mention he had been the one stopping the demon each time. He also wondered why the demon was back had there been something else in the treasure the demon had missed the first time. He wondered how long his fight would go on with this demon. He had mentioned some of this to Serena though. |

Yaksha cocked his head silently, seeming deep in thought as he listened to the demon's proposals. His eyes glittered like twin gemstones, but there was no emotion that could be discerned from them. His face was set into a look of serenity, before he spoke. "A half-dragon? I'm disappointed in you, Zelothith. However strong he is, he should be no problem for you." He walked closer, holding a hand over the flame, and then into it slowly. The flames coiled and hissed around his flesh, causing the smell of burnt meat to fill the air, yet he showed no hint of pain. All that he showed was a small, faint smile that filled his face with a terrifying look. After several moments of this, he withdrew his pale extremity, and began to mutter soft arcane words that crackled in the air. Black energy began to coil around his arm, causing the blackened and burnt flesh to regenerate. The faint scent of cooked flesh still lingered around it, but he moved the fingers slowly and experimentally. "As expected...my powers could easily dispatch your little half-dragon nuisance." He stepped closer to Zelothith, and chuckled calmly. "I'll fix this, Zelothith; I'll make it what it's supposed to be. Simply wait, and let your old friend take care of everything." He stepped back, coiling the shadows around him like a cloak, and making himself nearly invisible. His voice issued from the shadows, sounding almost amused. "We'll be discussing my payment soon enough..." |

Zelothtith watched Yaksha perform in front of him and stayed silent at the minor jabs at him. Thinking to himself, 'Ha he thinks this one is easy to deal with, but I suppose he may have more success than I have. As long as things get done.' He smiled at Yaksha response. "Indeed take care of it how you will and have my thanks. Then we can further discuss payment then. Regardless I suppose it is time to start moving. It seems like it will be a satisfying night." He started to move off drawing in his own dark energies creating an almost solid aura around his body. From his shadow many things seemed to start stirring as if awaiting release. He grabbed hold of the hilt of his sword swinging it to his front ready to go meet his old enemy as he continued on. |
