Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

The night was dark and gloomy, much as it was almost every night. The dull gray landscape made anyone not custom to this area sad and depressed, but those who claimed this place home found it to be just as great as any other land. Its deep dark lands with its evils and darkness creeping about the place, a creature of naught could find a liking to Balefire. A creature such as Zion. A pitiful being cast from the depths of hell he was, stained in blood with dirt and flesh crusted to his skin. He had on no clothing save for a cloth over his man glory, the dark cape he wore and a pair of guantlets he picked off a travler, which never seemed to let go of his arms. But he came to a liking of the metal gloves, always being by his side when none else where.

Zion found himself in the dark streets of the great City of Lanterns. Bored and out of his mind, like always, he went about hoping and skipping down the path, waving his arms like a small child. The Sour stench of death flowing from his mouth, the gore of past victems lay apparent on his body. He was a sore to all that lay eye on him, and to many he was nothing but a useless sack of human flesh, cursed with the evils of Hell. All he wanted was a friend, a companion to play with.

Step, scowl, step, scowl, step, scowl. Over and over Duo repeated this pattern as he travelled along the streets of Balefire, mood as sour as it ever was. He couldn't even remember what had brought him into this foul of a mood- perhaps nothing at all, maybe he just felt like being pissed off. He glared at everyone that dared lay eyes upon him, seething malice hidden under his violet eyes. All he wanted was to lash out at someone, anyone; to burn something or stab something or even just bite something really hard! Anything that would let him vent his frustrations.

Almost as if sent by whatever Gods there were, his answer came bounding down the street, reeking of human (and maybe even elven) blood and flesh. He kept walking, unperturbed by this mountain of flesh that skipped towards him down the way, and even plotting out what would happen if the foolish being didn't move out of his way. All it would take was something simple to set him off; running into him, brushing against him the wrong way, even talking to him would be sufficient. All that Duo had to look forward to right now was the idea that this behemoth would, if fate was kind, choose the wrong course of action- wrong for him, anyway.

The mind of zion was a small simple minded mind, with no goals, task or expectations in mind. He never planed anything out or even attempted to go about with confusion and complicated task. All he cared about was having fun with a little bit of destruction and chaos added in to the mix. And when zion got bored, it got really fun for him. As a small woman passed by, out of no where zion slammed into her shoulder, sending her flying into the dirt. He burst out laughing and spun around like a mad man. He would go for another. A odd looking man came passing by, he seemed to be minding his own bussiness and would not expect zion to attempt any such act of stupidty. But that was the difference between him and other humans, he would actually do things others found to be stupid and extreme. So he reared back and readied his shoulder to slam into the odd man walking. He had no idea what he was about to unleash.

The vampiric teen couldn't help but surpress the urge to laugh as he watched the lumbering... What the Hell was he, anyway? A man, a demon? No matter. He couldn't help but try not to laugh as he watched the beast slam shoulder-first into a woman who happened to be in a bad place at a worse time. A tiny snort of amusement left his tightly-pursed lips, which had already curled up into a smug smirk.

And then, suddenly, it occurred to him that he was the beast's next target.

Pfft, as if! he thought to himself, smirk transforming into a snarling, feral scowl, much like that of a cat hissing at an object it loathed. He readied a spell to cast upon himself, one he was largely unaccustomed to using due to his increasing lack of need for physical might, but one he retained nonetheless. After all, it was better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it, wasn't it? He'd heard the saying often enough to take it for truth.

With the might of a bull backing him, he turned, pulled back his fist, and let fly at the man's shoulder that was baring down upon him. Even if he wound up breaking every knuckle on his hand (which, while annoying, would be healable), there was very little doubt that he would surprise and wound the large being. If anything, it would at least give him the time and opportunity to whip up a more powerful, magical assault-- one with fire.

Lots of fire.

Even with all of his strength and might put into his shoulder, the impact was like hitting a very hard, solid wall. Zion's shouler went first into the man, not even expecting him to launch a fist at zion. the imoact sent a blood thirsty shiver through his spine, with shocks of pain and sheer hurting. zion let out a roar and threw himself on the ground, his back hitting the dirty path an dhis limbs flailing like a madman. He layed on the ground and began to cry, holding his fist to his face, dirty tears shed from his face and blotted to the ground.

But zion was more than just a dellusional man with no thought at all. he was a poor man filled with the very hate of hell its self. Pulling his hnds from his face zion glared up at hi sattacker with blood in his eyes. Gripping his fist he reared up and swung a punch at the mans face, his gloves ready to crush in his cheek.

The moment he saw Zion reel backwards, flailing and whooping like some bat out of Hell, cruel laughter ripped forth from Duo's cold lips. What kind of fool allowed himself to be thrown down so easily?! And what in the name of the dark, foul Gods below was he doing? Crying? "What a pathetic excuse for a living being," he scowled, kicking at a loose rock to launch it at Zion's covered face. He didn't even care if it wound up hurting the blubbering monstrosity, he just wanted to kick something.

He snapped his fingers, grinning as Zion stood once more. A long lash of flames spewed forth from his fingertips, coiling and curling until it reached the length of a common whip. As the giant being swung at him, he let fly with the lash of flames, aiming to strike him across the face and deal an excruciatingly painful blow, hopefully one that landed across an eye or two.

Zion was ready for the attack, although he was not sure how to approch it. As the man before him rushed and let loose a whip of flames from his finger tips, zion opened up hi shand and smiled, his black chipped teeth could be seen from his gross crusted mouth. A large fire ball launched its self from his hand and hurtled at the man, hoping to smash the man in the face. Zion rolled back onto his back trying to dodge the whip. This was only half a success for the whip lashed at his back, and left a small line of burn across his skin. But he loved the pain, jumping up he sent yet another ball of flames to distract the man.

Zions goal now was to run, and scream like a little baby. His arms went up into the air as dried blood flaked off of his body. He started to run in circles, trying to either scare the man or make him think zion had completly lost his mind. The truth was zion had lost his mind, he was mentally insane and had a vicious attitude to back it up. but one thing was true, he would no trest until he had a taste of the man that was attacking him.
