| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

She almost danced along the road as they passed on and on over the dusty ground. She dreaded the travel, but the whimsical feeling was always a welcome friend. Well, that, and her new monk friend that decided to travel with her. Her grin was wide as she continued her little dancing trot along the road. There was something about the plains that just made her feel at home. Perhaps it was the desolate type of lands, she thought jokingly. She was acting almost like a child as she started to skip on her toes, looking left and right with each step. From an on-looker, it would seem like that, anyway. All she was really doing was trying to keep her spirits lifted. The road was perhaps her least favorite part of her job. She wrinkled her nose at the thought, back to her carefree pace. |

"Ya seem pretty cheerful Miss Melanthios, though I do haf'ta admit tha' scenery is pretty nice around here, open sky, wide roads, a slight breeze... its a good day today," states Vyse as he keeps up with her, eyes scanning the area, looking for bandits or possible enemies. "The best part is, no thieves or rogues on the road, its odd... I'd usually have ta' crack a skull or two by now... guess I made a wee bit of a name for meself," Vyse takes a deep breath and sighs, "Today is a good day." |

She glanced back now and again, continuing on her little trot. She wasn't too surprised at all, the rangers of the area did their job well. She wrinkled her nose now and again, shuffling to and fro along both sides of the road, using Vyse as a center as she went in circles again and again. She stopped after about an hour of walking, letting out a deep huff. She let out a soft sigh, "The road is so boring..." And that it was. She sort of missed the tavern already, or any tavern really. She couldn't help but wonder what sort of food she could be eating at that moment if she was in a tavern. She wiggled her nose again, passing off the though. Itching her head, she looked over at her new travel partner, "So, why would you rather travel with a wandering dancer then be about your own business?" She didn't intend to be rude but she realized the question could easily be taken as that. She sighed, glancing around a bit as she did. She quietly thought to herself, perhaps I should stick to dancing and leave talking to others. |

"Ah, that is a good question... well ye could say I have no real business, I just go where the wind takes me, take any job I can and live, thought I cannae say its fruitful, I am lookin' for a Burning Fist member ta teach me their ways, ye could say... I want to be called Fire Fist instead O' Iron Fist, I do nay want ta' sound like a dwarf, people might think 'Oh yer a wee bit tall fer a dwarf Laddo,'" Vyse smirks as he turns his head towards her. "I like being asked direct questions, even if it sounds a wee bit odd, I prefer the direct approach, why bother leading up to tha' question when ye can ask it directly and if that doesn't work, a quick left straight will solve most O' me problems," he smiles wider remembering the days he would get into his daily brawls. |

She shrugged, holding her arms out and twirling a bit. Her childish nature was rather apparent on the road, when boredom reached it's peaks. After a moment she stopped, walking backwards as she looked upwards. "I suppose." Was the only reply she had to his long speech. She ran a hand through her hair, shaking it out a bit as she walked along, backwards, but walking along all the same. She began to hum as she went along, watching the clouds above her head. These plains are far too long, she thought to herself. She couldn't help but frown, knowing there was at least a two or three day walk until they even find a decent rest spot, let along reach the desert. |

"Ah... its good ta' have some down time, no worries, no random beer mugs shatterin' on yer head..." Vyse picks up the pace a bit, "I don't like it..." Vyse states as his eyes scan the area, constantly checking behind him. "... things are going to well... whenever things go this well I get suspicious... where are the birds and other animals that live in this plain... isn't it a wee bit odd that no ones here, not even tha' random bird flying over head." Vyse states as he checks behind him again. |

She looked around curiously, not really paying attention as she did. She really paid it no mind, she was used to things being this quiet on the road. She huffed again, "It's probably nothing, these plains are pretty barren on their own. Perhaps it's just an off day." She turned to face forward again, looking around, wrinkling her nose. She ran her fingers through her hair again, scanning the road ahead. She blew air into her cheeks like a child, letting it out slowly like a whistle. When it was done, she looked left and right, "Either way, bandits wouldn't really get much from us..." |

"Not much sure, but they'd still get a bit O' gold and they might just want ta' kill us for the sake of killin'..." states Vyse as he focuses on the road ahead. "... Its to quite," he states again as he grumbles a bit to himself, hands shaking a bit. "... This will be a good day... I can feel it in me arms... a powerful foe is comin' my way... I can feel it in me arm..." his smile widens and his eyes seem to sparkle with childish glee. "Today is going to be a good day..." he repeats himself as he sets off at a slightly brisker pace. |

His breathing came in short, raspy bursts, his cloak held tight against him. His new gauntlets glinted in the sun light, already stained red with blood. His smile was wide, regardless of his ragged appearance. Looking up, he saw the pair... and he began to laugh. His ebony skin was revealed to the sunlight as he removed the blinder from his eyes, his bloodshot eyes a bloodshot glow against his black ebony skin. He let his hood drop, his teeth barred. He had no control today... it was like a sickness... "I... am going to feed..." "Tear them apart." "REND!" "There is no mercy in this world, only judgment. Send them to their makers, harbinger of Lloth!" They screamed at him! Oh, how the chorus bellowed! His laughter grew, almost carrying over the resounding boom in his ears. He couldn't help but shake, the excitement pumping through him like a fire. He would have fun... oh yes.... he would have fun... |

She instinctively moved behind the monk, her eyes locked on the new figure. His ebony skin marked him as a drow, so she already had a horrible feeling in the pit of her gut... but... he was covered in blood. The sound of his voice was as if he hadn't had something to eat or drink in days, and the way he was shaking was as if he was sick. She rose her brow, "What....." She couldn't think of what to say, the man seemed so out of place, even in desolate lands like this. She had to wonder if he would look any different anywhere... perhaps Balefire... She shook her head, bringing her attention back. She may need to heal sometime during this fight. |

"Oh yeah, now things are gettin' good," remarks Vyse as he widens his stance, placing one foot forward and bending the knee, placing one fist at his waist and the other one down over his bent knee. "So you're the one making my arms quiver... I hope you like to fight... because you'll now face the power of Vyserial Edge, the Iron Fist!" Exclaims Vyse as he charges forward, an almost psychotic glint in his eye. Vyse throws a punch straight for his head, readying his left fist for the right moment to strike. |

Exodus threw his cloak at the man's right side, bringing his gauntlet covered fist to grip his punching fist. He smiled wide, barring his teeth. Claws began to grow out of his gauntlets, barely cutting the skin before he threw the man's hand aside, shifting himself to the right, standing lazily. He laughed loudly, his voice almost perfectly clear... "I've never heard of you... and soon... no one will ever hear of you again..." his laughter just became sicker, his teeth almost fanged in his mouth as his smile couldn't grow anymore. Throwing himself at the man, he began to claw, right-left-from the bottom-left again. His eyes were bloodshot as his onslaught continued, the clear faces of insomnia covering his features. He felt a tingling in his fingers... the excitement... it was intoxicating. This would be such a great... great day. |

She watched close, her eyes following the movements loosely. The man was fast, that was sure. Every snap of his muscles seemed to be beyond the norm, like lightning running through his veins. She was astonished, and slightly afraid... what was he, beyond drow? She got lost in the movements, watching the battles like a child watches a play, her eyes wide, barely blinking. She wasn't a fighter, she would never survive a minute in that flurry... |

Vyse laughs as he can barely dodge the onslaught, taking many cuts and gashes, "I don't care if the world ever hears about me, I want the strong and weak to hear me, the strong to fear me should they do wrong to the weak, and the weak will revere me as a hero!" he punches at his face, over extending it so its the only thing he can see happening as he swings his left fist into his gut to deliver a stunning blow to wind him. |

He simply laughed, his eyes darkening, the evil inside gripping it's hands around his actions. It was time to play. He dropped his knee, moving his head around the blow, letting the punch hit him in the center of the chest. He laughed as he hit the ground, rolling to his feet immediately. He kicked to his feet, his eyes narrowing even more. He breathed heavily, laughing the entire time. "Pain! Yes, pain! It's like the ultimate essence of battle! Let it's sting lead me into death!" He laughed louder, swinging hard with his clawed hard, his other held in front of his face, striking forward like a snake once his other blow finished through. He would take his time, enjoy his pray. This was gonna be a day he would enjoy for some time. His grin only got eviler, "And I"ll be sure to treat your little girl nicely..." He laughed hard, rolling forward as his blow finished to kick upwards into the man's gut. How fun battle was! it was like a play that could never end! Happening a million times before it's lash finally closed the curtain! |
