| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Azura stalked into the small clearing with a purpose, ready for battle. She had found out that two goodly men were supposed to meet here. While Azura normally only hunted down abominations, Azura needed to attract some certain peoples' eyes. And seeing as abominations were always evil scum bags, Azura had to move onto other targets that were a bit less evil. And now, Azura had to wait behind a tree with her spear in one hand and her shield strapped on to her other. From her intel, both men were supposed to be talented fighters and had done countless godly deeds throughout their times. And now both of them had to die so that Azura could finally ascend to a higher level. As she sat there, contemplating how she would go about this deed, their was a loud crackle from breaking branches on the other side of the clearing. |

Bertrade trotted through the ruins of old Taras. He wanted to find some demon to fight, and seeing that the summer had ended, and the fall gained its good standing it would be easier then ever to find them, but twice as hard to kill them. For some reason they gained power in this month, and likewise he felt weaker. This may had put him at a disadvantage, but it didn't bother him much. He didn't plan on fighting any higher level demon, just a few of the spawn. Continuing his normal route he found himself in a rather awkward position. There were trees spread across this area, and would make for a easy ambush. He didn't think they would try and attack him this far away, but he would never put anything past the demon kin, and even worst the human traitors who follow in their ways. Getting yet another bad feeling he decided to continue on his track without hesitation. He doubted that there was an ambush, but didn't want to be anywhere close to it when it happened. once he had gained a good amount of ground he made it to a clearing. It was much better then before. there were only a flew select trees, and he felt perfectly safe. |

If only she had her bow out was the only thing that Azura could think off. With one decent shot, she could have pinned his feet in ice and slowly tortured him til a certain figure showed up. That would have been absolutely perfect but now Azura would have to settle for straight forward combat. Maybe an epic battle, the clashing of two separate fates, would attract a demon or some higher devil. And with that, Azura stepped into the clearing that the other man had just entered. "Let's dance," Azura said, with a coy smile that made one think that the beautiful lady actually wanted a smile. However, the beautiful spear spoke different words. With a quick two step, Azura closed the distance quickly and she quickly jabbed her spear at the man's arm attempting to cripple him early on. While she probably was not as skilled with the spear as the man was with his weapon, her incredibly strength would hopefully take away any advantage that the man's superior skill had given him. After poking her spear at him, Azura was already backing up so that the man's weapon would not be able to reach him. She had light armor on but she did not have faith in it holding too many attacks. |

Bertrade watched as another had entered the clearing. It was clear that she wanted to fight as she charged him with her spear. He normally would take advantage of his lance seeing as it was much longer, but with that shield he didn't feel like charging head on into her charge. Instead he would come at an angle. With his plan in motion he kicked on his horses side, and started to speed up. It seemed that he was charging straight inward towards her, but at the last minute he turned. The spear would not be long enough to strike him, so for now he was safe from danger. It was now time to make an attack. Grasping his lance as tightly as he could, and at the very same time he activated one of his spells. 'Draconic Might' with his new found strength he ordered his horse to charge. He decided that he would aim for the shield. If he would hit it at full charge it had the chance of breaking, and with that he would gain an advantage. If he made contact he would merely keep going, but if he did in fact miss for any reason. He would turn. Making a semi circle he would come back around, and once again aim towards her shield. Disarming that was at utmost importance. |

The paladin had managed to avoid the first precautionary poke check which was not too hard seeing as he was up on his horse. While the other man cast a spell of some sorts, Azura set herself up in a good defensive stance so that she could jump out of the way of an attack or even counter is attack. After a few seconds, it was obvious that the man's body had been charged with sometime of magic but Azura had no training in the magical arts and thus, had no clue was type of magic the man was using. Therefore, she was more inclined to dodge this man's attacks until she had figured out what advantage the magic had given him. "Your the silent type I see," Azura said with a smirk as the knight charged in at Azura with his lance. One skilled in mounted combat and armed with such a devastating polearm was something to be feared but Azura had a deadly combo on the ready. As the horse neared her, Azura leaped forward and upwards incredibly high right over the incoming polearm. This left the knight completely open to attack seeing as the shield was practically stuck on the other side of the horse. However, the leap had taken away any really ability to hit the man with her spear, so Azura punched at the man with her shield. Behind that attack was the massive amount of strength that Azura had trained years and years to get. If the attack landed or missed, Azura would attempt to land and skitter away before an attack could be made against her. She would roll first with the help of her new spear and then sprint into the cover of a tree. (Jump was made with a combo of athletics and the bunny spear) |

He wasn't nearly as good at Mounted Combat as he would like to be. Just like he planned he rounded the bend, and came back around for a strike. The girl did not dodge in the way the he was anticipating, and that meant for a rather unusual outcome. He jumped an impressive feet. It almost seemed impossible, but with means in which Bertrade didn't know she managed to jump right towards him avoiding his lance. Not only did she dodge the attack, but she managed to make an attack. Before he knew it he had a shield in the blunt of his shoulder, and with such force it drove him right off his horse. Falling straight on the ground he grasped his small buckler shield for an attempt to block any extra attacks. Trying to get into a defensive stance. He knew she wasn't done, and would probably be trying to ambush him again. He wondered why the girl was so intent of talking during a fight. It wasn't how he usually fought, but if it would help him he would talk. Trying to see where she was he made a small attempt start a conversation. "Hello. My name is Bertrade; Knight of the holy order. Who are you, and why did you attack me?" He didn't expect an answer, but if he got one so be it. His defensive stance was simple. In his left hand was his sword, and in his right; his small buckler shield. His arm was over top head with the tip pointing down. This way he could strike with a slashing motion easier. His Buckler hand was fully extended hoping to protect against an easy attack. He liked this defense, but something began to worry him. What if he had a ranged weapon? That would make him an open target. He figured he could run in the woods, but then he would be a lot more susceptible to an ambush. He hated standing in the open, but for now it was his only option. |

"Ah, so now you want to talk. Well I will oblige seeing as you just made my day seeing as you are one of those Knights of the Holy Order. If this does not attract the attention of one of them, then I simply do not know what will. I thought another man was coming but hopefully, he will wait till I have your insides spilled out on the floor. As for who I am, I am Azura the Dark Ice Paladin. And why did I attack you, is that not a little obvious? I want to kill you but that probably is not the answer you are looking for but sadly for you, that is the only answer you will get," Azura said, revealing where her position was. Realizing that, Azura moved slowly into the cleared area with her spear still on the ready and her shield held tightly on the other arm. While the counter attack had gone perfectly, the shield had been dented by the man's body and probably would only take a few more hits. As the horse stood still in the clearing, Azura realized that she had to force the horse to flee so that the knight named Bertrade could not regain the advantage by retaking his position atop the horse. Therefore, she slowly sidestepped closer to the horse so that she would be able to smack the horse's rear and hopefully spark the creature to run faraway. After a few more steps, Azura was just close enough for her to spank the horse with her spear and did just that. However, the paladin was still far enough away from the horse that it would be unlikely that the creature would kick her for her slap. "Hopefully, now we can play on an even playing field," Azura said with a smile as she looked to see what the horse did while keeping an eye on Bertrade. |

Once Azura began to speak he knew exactly where she was. With that he tilted his defense towards that direction, and walked slowly towards her. She spoke like any evil being did. She was going to try and kill him. Its wasn't like he never heard that before. What did intrigue his attention was when she said she was trying to get the attention of something, but of what? That was something he was going to ask. "And what are you trying to get the attention of?" Asked Bertrade. Once he was a few steps away from his horse, and where Azura was he added. "Well Azura you picked the wrong side. If you've chosen the side of evil I will be forced to eliminate you. It's more then a creature like you deserves." Soon after he spoke he noticed his horse running away in a rampage. It was clear that Azura was there. Now that she was in sight he could make his attack. Running as fast as he could he went to attack Azura head on. Once he was close to her he expected to be attacked by a spear. That would not happen though. Once he was in spear length he would take his buckler shield and hit it at it trying to knock it aside. While he would do this he would continue and slash at Azura with his rapier. With his superior strength he would cause immense damage to her if she made contact. It would even cause great damage to any shield if made of wood. |

Everything was the customary goodly paladin speal until Bertrade made the mistake of calling Azura a creature. That was something that the racist lady could simply not take and almost immediately, her face became flushed and angry. "Me...a creature? You have got to be joking me? I am nothing but the purest races, that of human blood and elven body," Azura said with an angry look as she readied herself for the on coming attack. However, what she was not ready for was the increased strength that now matched Azura's own strength against the man's magical strength. Thus, the tides were turned once again as the man pushed throw Azura's defenses thanks to his skill with his blade. A few pokes came through Azura's defense in the first couple of seconds which did little other than prick at the leather armor that covered the majority of her body. However, it was only getting worse as his sword and shield were pushing right through her defenses and her shield was slowly becoming nothing more than broken bits of metal and slivers of wood. In an attempt to escape the brutal onslaught, Azura tossed the wrecked shield at the man while quickly stepping backwards. The shield would probably entangle itself with the man due to it's completly destroyed nature. Normally, Azura would have pounced on the man but blood was slowly dripping from her brow where the rapier had caught her brow. It was far from a life threatening wound but the blood was rolling over her eye and thus, she had to wipe away the blood every few seconds. "Looks like you have pricked my beautiful face which may I add, puts me far above any creature or abomination that I have ever seen," Azura said, remembering the comment, that the onslaught from the knight had made her momentarily forgot. "And now you will pay for that comment," Azura said, holding her spear with two hands planing to use her strength to simply ram it through his defenses, but that would have to wait for a few seconds. |

"You think yourself pure. Ha! You are nothing but a tainted rendition of what was once some admirable. You may be elvish, you may be human, but you allowed darkness to taint you. I have the power to purify you. Baptism through death, and may god have mercy on you." Bertrade said in a mocking laughter. Moving backwards right outside of the striking distance of the spear Bertrade prepared for another attack. He didn't want to make an attack for fear it wouldn't work the second time around. Instead he would force the opponent to be on the offense, so that he could use his superior swordsmanship to his advantage. "You say I will pay, but I do not see you making any offensive gestures. Now, creature, fight like you want me dead." Bertrade said trying to lure Azura into attacking him head on. |

Azura realized just what the man was doing as it was nothing more than a simple jest at her. However, the man had failed to realize what made her angry and thus, his simple little attacks at her being evil just did not cut it. So she kept her spear in her arms, and slowly moved backwards edging away from the man. Once at a decent distance, Azura let her spear sag in one hand so that her other was completely free. Mustering what little magical power she had, Azura cast one of the simplest spells that existed in Imythess. It was a small bolt of magic that would weaken the defenses of the other man hopefully and allow Azura to attack the man with an advantage. It flew out at the man aimed at the center of his body, more towards the side with the sword. If the man wanted to block it with his shield he would have to twist his body awkwardly and if he dodged, Azura's spear would be there to intercept him. Thus, she charged in at the man covering the path right behind the missile. She was either going to tackle the man to the floor and try to maul him to death or slowly dismember him with his spear from afar. But that would all depend on what the missile did to Betrade. |

Within seconds Azura attacked. A rather straight forward one, but that meant something else was coming. She used a spell, a notable weak one, but a spell none the less. It was a bolt of raw magic which was coming straight for him. He would react to this attack quite simply. Using his shield to intercept the blade he watched the spell disperse off the face of his shield. Then came the second half of the attack. Azura came straight for him with a drawn spear hoping to stab him. Sadly his shield was to his side, and reaching it up would take to much time. Instead he used his rapier as a defensive weapon by lifting his sword hand up and dip it down, and over the incoming spear. Using his strength and proper proportion he redirected the force of the spear to the side. With the attack redirected he went to counterattack. Lifting his shield hand up he took aim for the girls head, and went to attack. His intention was to make contact with the girls head. If it did it would cause significant damage. Whether he did, or did not make contact didn't matter. His next step would be the same. He would take a few paces back to try and egg on another attack. |

Azura realized that not everything had gone according to plan when her spear began to twist up and away. Instead of holding onto the spear, Azura let the spear fly away but it would also keep the sword out of play seeing as it was pushing the spear up and away. And thus the spear flew up into the air while the sword would ultimately fly out wide. That left the pressing manner of a spear coming in at Azura's head. However, both of her hands were free and she was ready to counter the man's counter. "I know I'm curvy but it's all muscle, baby," Azura said as she attempted to grab onto the man's shield. Her strength allowed her to slow it down completely and her fingers wrapped around the edge of the buckler. Using all of her tremendous strength, she attempted to through the shield up and over her head and thus, take Bertrade along for a ride. While this would normally be a godly feat, Bertrade had aimed the shield punch at her head and was thus already going upwards. Azura was simply adding a lot to that momentum and would hopefully send Bertrade flying into the air. (OOC: If there is anything wrong with this Bert, please tell me and I will edit right away. If the touching of your shield if too much Powerplaying, then just send me a PM :)) |

His defense worked better then he had hoped. Not only did he redirect it from hurting him, but he also disarmed his opponent completely. His small victory then took a turn fr the worst. As he tried to punch Azura with the shield she gripped it, and with surprising strength picked him off the ground threw him. Flying through the air he braced for impact, but that did little to defend against the hard ground. As he hit the ground his body made a loud thud. Arching his back, while gripping his spine he let out a cry in agony as the sharp pain surged through his body. Bertrade stood up and listened as his back cracked. The pain had finally subsided, and he was once again ready to fight. He had an idea, and figured it would work. Glancing over to his lance where was laying on the ground when he fell earlier. Quickly he ran towards it and picked it up. It was heavy, and awkward to wield off horseback. Running forward he used it like a long range baseball bat and tried to strike Azura. (Your fine. You can do that if you want to. Oh yeah, and if I do something like that feel free to point it out.) |

The perfect counter to a well executed counter attack had went off perfectly with the man by the name of Bertrade hurtling over Azura's head while loosing his sword in the process. As Azura regained her footing after the tremendous throw, she quickly searched the grass with her eyes, trying to find the location of her lost spear. It took her a good few seconds, but time that she had plenty of seeing as the man would take some time to gain his wits. The sun caught a small part of blue metal on the spears shaft and Azura immediately rushed over to retrieve her fallen weapon. Picking her weapon up in one hand, Azura turned back around to face her fighter who she assumed would still be on the ground but was instead met with the scary sight of a long pole being swung at her. With every muscle in her body, Azura attempted to jump up and over the pole. As she glided through the air, she could only hope and believe that she had indeed been able to leap the awkward and unwieldy strike. However, almost at the same time that she believed she was safe, the lance caught her feet flipping her body. Both hands and knees slammed far into the soagy earthy as Azura fell to the ground. Her spear had helped her guide her way down but once again, Azura had lost it when she had collided with the ground. She scrambled up and away, not even bothering to look for her spear in fear that the lance would slam down her back. Regaining some sort of balance, Azura turned to face the man who was wielding the oddest of weapons for a one on one fight off of horses. This would give Azura some type of advantage but then again, she had lost her spear. Thus she simply waited for the knight to act. |
