| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The dark sky over the Memphian Falls was beautiful, the moon and stars shining in the skies, seeming to almost give off a warm feeling. When coupled with the cooled air of the waterfalls made for a truly beautiful night, especially to do a bit of flying. A small yellow dragon flew about happily in the moonlight, golden wings extended over two feet, which given the small stature of the dragon was rather large. The small golden dragon seemed to be a surprising rarity in Imythess, seldom being seen within the borders, but since the small wyvern hadn’t travelled outside of the country, she would perhaps never know if there were others in this world. She took to small gusts of wind, rising and lowering with joy as she glided laps around the shimmering pool that the waterfall poured into. It seemed as if she was the only one for miles upon miles. She was nocturnal, she loved the night air, the cool shadows that engulfed the world, the large white orb in the sky, it was simply in her nature. She had seen the light of day several times and found it unpleasantly hot and bright, blinding her quite frequently in flight. The moon never seemed to try and make her lose sight of anything in front of her. She fluttered her wings, stopping short of running into the waterfall, falling back and down and elegantly turning and extending her wings, quickly gliding to the edge of the water. Her small, lizard-like face showed a smile as she turned and got a drink of water from the unsettled lake. She had tired herself out; perhaps she had too much fun in such a wondrous place. She looked up to the moon before lying on her stomach, her wings extended simply because she enjoyed them that way. |

Nireza was in the Memphian Falls area. She had enjoyed the afternoon near the lake, having taken a nap in the afternoon sunlight. She liked this part of Imythess. She had been here several times, but she always enjoyed it, except for the occasional time there were hostiles she had to deal with. Fortunately she didn't meet up with a lot of bandit types, so she could enjoy places such as this without worrying too much. Nireza wasn't normally one to be up at night, but tonight was a beautiful night, and she had been napping for a good part of the afternoon. She watched the play of the moonlight on the falls and the lake. It wasn't long before she noticed something flying through and around the falls. It was some sort of flying creature. At first, she couldn't tell what it was and thought it was a bird of some kind, playing in the cool mist. At closer inspection, she realized that it looked almost like some kind of dragon. Her first thought was a baby wyvern or something similar. After flying around merrily for a while, Nireza saw the creature land at the edge of the lake not far from where she had been sitting this whole time. Nireza decided to approach the tiny dragon, keeping quiet to avoid startling her. She saw the creature at the edge of the lake. From her experience with dragons (or more specifically, a half-dragon), she could easily see that the tiny creature was smiling. It was at times like this that Nireza wished she could grow wings and fly. Nireza said to the small creature in a soft voice, even though she didn't know whether it could understand her, "Looks like you've been having fun in those falls and got a bit tired out." She knelt down and began stroking the creature's head. |

“Oh, yes. How could I not on such a peaceful and tranquil night?” June said as she happily received the strokes from the new woman. To be quite honest, she didn’t care, she simply enjoyed the attention from a complete stranger who, so far at least, wasn’t trying to capture or sell her on some sort of market. So far the pleasant atmosphere that his woman gave wasn’t at all threatening, which came as a pleasant surprise. So many people were greedy and aggressive, often wanting to capture and sell the small golden dragon. She saw the positive end of being captured, though. She was so rare that she would probably be sold for a high price to a rich and noble family that would probably pamper her and show her off as an apparently unique creature in the world of Chaon. That just made her happier to think about. “It seems rare that a night so pleasant comes around in Chaon.” She held a nice wide smile on her small golden head as she looked up to the elven woman who had randomly decided to give the small wyvern some well-appreciated attention. Having seen the face of the nice woman who had given her the attention she stretched her wings and tucked them back. "My name is June, what's yours?" She asked, her smile not beiong lost from her scaly face. |

Nireza was quite surprised to hear the tiny creature speaking. She paused for a second and then continued to stroke the creature. She thought for a moment about the small creature she was looking at and stroking. By appearance, this creature seemed to be a wyvern, as true dragons were never this small, even after they had just hatched. However, wyverns, as far as she knew, were not intelligent. She decided that this creature had to be either a tiny dragon or an intelligent wyvern. Either way, she was unusually small. She seemed to appreciate the attention though, and to Nireza, she seemed to be playful, possibly mischievous, and in general a good sort of creature. Like herself, June seemed to enjoy the peace and beauty of these falls. Nireza returned June's smile and said, in a soft, almost seductive voice, "I am Nireza. It is quite a beautiful night. The sound of the falls, the moonlight sparkling in the water, and a nice cool breeze. Can't really ask much more. I'm not normally awake at night, so I don't see these falls like this much. Anyways, what sort of creature are you? You're too small to be a dragon or a wyvern as far as I'm aware, but you certainly look like a dragon aside from your small size. June might have noticed that a slight aura of wind came off Nireza's hand, which June would feel as a mild breeze in the wrong direction for normal wind conditions. Also, the same wind aura was playing in her golden hair and her clothing. |
