| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"Ah you wish to be brought to saftey, your friends too no doubt. Let me teleport you then." Both Aiden and Eonian were already prepared for the demon's teleportation to their location...and already had their swords drawn and at the ready. When the little thing reappeared, they both aimed the point of their blades at the demon, preparing to end the little nuisance once and for all. And yet, to their surprise, the demon only reached out and touched them both, closing its eyes as it prepared to teleport away yet again. "Kaess!" Aiden called out, wondering if his friend had managed to return in time. He glanced down, stifling a smirk as he noticed his large companion grasping onto the demon's leg. In the nick of time as usual, Aiden thought, now beginning to focus on exactly where the hell they were going now. Needless to say, no one really seemed to be in a condition to resume a long battle. What if we're being transported to a hostile spot? the elf thought, worry beginning to consume his thoughts as they hurtled along to who knew where. Nonetheless, Aiden refused to be caught lying down. If they had to, he was sure that everyone was prepared to fight to the last breath. But what about Kaess' father? the elf wondered again, If he's not here, did he get away? How will he find us again? Aiden kept his thoughts to himself, noting that Kaess hadn't said anything about it. If anyone should be worried, it'd be him. And yet, if he wasn't, there was no reason for Aiden to be either. For now. . . |

The demon got up removing himself from Kaess who was still eying him and bowed to them all as he started to fade away. "I have partially repaid my debt. If you need a service again you may call me by Melinacent, my name. Well until we meet again." The demon then vanished. One of the dwarven smith's sons came out soon, "By my beard what happened to you lot? Better get you all inside. My father and your dragon father is a bit out of it as he is they are drinking ever since he showed up with a shadow thingy stuck in a crystal of some sort. I will go fetch a healer once we get you settled." "Thanks" Was all Kaess could manage. Kaess felt a little rushed at the oddity of being dropped off by a demon, but he wasn't going to complain. He bent down to help Eionan and Aiden up as the dwarf did the same. They were soon being led to a simple set of cots where they could lie down, all could see the simth and Kaess' father drinking in another room as they settled in. Kaess just wondered who in the world his father had gotten here before them since he had teleported '..... right dad knows how to teleport to places he knows.' |

Aiden opened his eyes...and to his surprise, found himself in the same, warm smithery they'd been in just days earlier. "What's this place?" Eonian whispered, pain clearly creeping into his voice. "The home of friends," Aiden replied softly, bearing his friend's weight as the demon spoke. "I have partially repaid my debt. If you need a service again you may call me by Melinacent, my name. Well until we meet again." Debt? Aiden thought, We were fighting just a few minutes ago. We're on opposite sides! How on earth does he owe us a debt? Despite his questions, Aiden refused to press the issue. Instead, Aiden hobbled over to a nearby cot and laid Eonian out on it. "By my beard what happened to you lot? Better get you all inside. My father and your dragon father is a bit out of it as he is they are drinking ever since he showed up with a shadow thingy stuck in a crystal of some sort. I will go fetch a healer once we get you settled." The news was a comfort to Aiden and Eonian, who promptly fell back on their respective cots and closed their eyes. It was the first time either had been able to rest for some time now...and they reveled in the opportunity. "Could I get some ale, please?" Eonian asked weakly, drawing a comical stare from Aiden. "What?" Eonian replied, "I haven't had a drink in ages! I feel that now's an appropriate time. . ." |

Another dwarf came in with a smile on his face. "Ah did I here a request for ale, I suppose that means you will be fine be back shortly." He trundled out another door and was soon back with a few tankards of ale. "Be careful it doesn't kill you lads. My brother should be back with the healer soon so just rest up. The family will watch ya." Kaess himself was starting to relax a bit and enjoyed a bit of the ale which helped numb some of the pain from his wounds. He then sat on his own cot getting himself comfortable. "Well we survived ..... " He stared into an empty spot of the room for a bit unsure of what to say past that point. He thought 'If only I had been able to make sure I had finished that demon. I wonder what will happen now. I feel this part is over, yet it is not ... weird.' |

Eonian took the tankard of ale with a nod of thanks and drank greedily, his enthusiasm driven both by the taste of the drink and the fact that he was still alive to enjoy it. Aiden drank his much more slowly, almost contemplatively, as he waited for the healer to arrive. "Well we survived ..... " Aiden looked up, startled from his own thoughts by the simple statement. "That we did," he said slowly, a smile beginning to lift the corners of his lips up. "I must say, you were more successful in your hunt than we were in ours." "Be quiet," Eonian said, suddenly serious. "Zieg's a slippery bastard and everyone knows it. He dealt with me easily enough and you fought him to a standstill. There's no reason for you to be ashamed of anything. We'll just keep chasing him as we've always done." "I'm tired of coming so close to fail," Aiden said, lifting his tankard to his lips and taking a deep drink. "We've got to end this...sooner rather than later." To this, he got no answer from either of his companions. Aiden took this as either agreement or simply the lack of anything else to say. Either way, the elf continued sipping his drink quietly, resigned to waiting until they could start out again. . . |

Kaess slowly passed out into a dreamless sleep and awoke suddenly in the next day in the late morning. He got up finding his wounds had been treated to some extent and he was feeling somewhat better, but still probably not up to heavy work. He was surprised to find his father had left in the earlier morning only leaving a message saying to visit him in the dragon spine mountains some time. 'Well that makes it so easy, just an entire mountain range..... oh well at least I guess this means he is done here for now.' He step over a dwarf in one of the doorways who was out cold from drink. 'I wonder where I will go from here.' He got a bit of bread and munched on it while he thought further on what to do now. |
