Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Fara're's eyes darkned a bit when he asked why she did not want to be accepted due to her power.

"Beacuse...power does not make one accepted. True you can get people to follow you, worship you, and fear you through power. But they won't accept you," she said. "If you rule people through fear, you will then always be expecting a dagger in the back. If you gain acceptance by showing you mean them no harm, then you can live in peace. That is what I want."

She now had a feeling that this drow was a bit more like the rest of his kind that she liked. THose who used thier power to get what they wanted is what she was against. That was why she lead Moon Child. To show that people like her could be trusted. That people like her were not always evil. But it was people like him who made her job so difficult.

"Some only accept power or live through power, it depends on where one is born and how one is forced to live. Sides, power helps achieve one's dreams, without power, one could be crush by another more ambitious being, or hero. Without power, one would be unable to unlock their full potential or unravel the secrets of the universe. What's wrong with a little power if it goes to a good cause? Sides, sometimes acceptance isn't the answer to achieve greatness, and with enough power, one won't get stabbed in the back as either no one would be stupid enough to do so or would be unable to do so." Doguso smiled at this.

Hhe liked Fara're but he had a feeling she was too heroic, and passive, too good where everything needs to be simple and peaceful or however they think nowadays. Didn't matter to him though, truly.

She listened to his words carefully. She pondered his words for a moment before replying.

"There is nothing wrong with power," she said. "It is how you use it. If you use your power to force people into obeying you or to take over a village, then you are abusing your power. But if you use that power to protect others, that is a worthy use of power. And that is how I use my power. Through that I have gained the acceptance and the trust of the elves in Norwood forest. And through me, they accept those I call friend. I help protect them, and in turn they help me when I call on their aid."

"Power alone does not make your dreams come true. But your power along with that of your friends and loved ones will help you get much farther in life than you could alone. I have experience this first hand. I would not be where I am now if it were not for those who helped me get here," she said.

She hoped he would understand her words. That merely having power alone was not the answer for everything. That if all you had was power, it would lead to nothing. Even the most powerful people could be defeated if they stood alone. If you had people who trusted you and whom you could trust, it only added to your power and your ability to accomplish even the most difficult of tasks.

"There is some truth to that, Fara're, but friends can just as easily back stab you as enemies, but only more lethal and unpredicted." Doguso laughed, "However I guess we differ there. While you look for friends and loved ones, I look for allies. In allies I trust, but at the same time that trust is loose and our nerves on edge so betrayal isn't as quick and painful."

"With friends, they can back stab me while I trust, and if I don't trust, they aren't really friends. Not the same as with allies. You may have gotten where you are because of them, but I gotten where I am because of myself, which shows my power, and of course my allies help. I guess we'll see who is more correct though, shall't we?"

Doguso continued walking into the darkness. "But why should we fight right now? What's the point in this argument that'll lead us nowhere if we cling to our beliefs so well. Keke."

Fara're shrugged at his words. She guessed his view point was in part of how he was raised. The drow were taught that trust was for the weak, and you gain power by your own actions. And with that power you gained prestige and respect. But in her eyes, it was power like that that bought the most envy from others, and more assassins.

"I guess we will have to agree to disagree," she said with a smile. "But I will say this, don't underestimate my power. I may not look like much...but I can take care of most things myself. I have killed a few demons in the past."

She twirled on the foot and skipped ahead. She was acting much like a young child now, despite her adult body. But only a fool would think she were childish. She was ready to fight within a moments notice. She was just in a cheerful mood right now.

"So what does one do for enjoyment down here?" she asked.

"A few demons? Oh-ho, that sounds interesting. Care to share?" Doguso smiled back at her and laughed at her childish way. Doguso felt a bit uneasy now though, a slight tension between the two but it had been dismissed for now. Sighing, he jogged up to Fara're and walked along side of her.

"I haven't been down here in so long I'm not sure anymore. I grew up a bit poor though so I didn't get to do much for fun." Doguso laughed, "I'm not poor anymore though, sort of. Want to take a look in the next city?" Doguso said invitingly, his voice soothing and calm, unlike his usual cackling, evil tone.

She looked over her shoulder. "Oh the demons? Not much interesting to tell really. There a demon attack a while back. I was one of the ones who help fight against the hoard. Then later I killed a long time foe of mind who had bonded himself to a demon," she said. "I don't really see it at that important."

She smiled at him as he caught up. She did not really trust him. With the way he had spoken before, she knew there was something odd about him. Something that would not sit well with her. But there was no need to let him know that. Besides he was not doing anything wrong right now.

"A walk around the city sounds fun," she said. "I just don't want to be hearing rumors later on about you having a raven haired surface elf as a girl friend. A certain tiefling I am in love with would not be too pleased about hearing that."

She then suddenly turned down a street that looking interesting to her. After skipping a distance away she looked over her should and gestured to him as if tell him to hurry up. She figure she still had an hour or two to explore before she should head back home. Slade would likely be getting worried about her.

"Hm, bonded himself to a demon, sounds like a great battle keke." Doguso started to laugh more like his maniacal self now, his eyes starting to take that insane look. Whoever this person was, she wasn't quite the kind of person he liked. Too good and hopeful, too trusting in others. Maybe if they were born under different circumstances, they could've been friends, but that's said a lot isn't it?

"Keke, sadly you're not quite the kind of girl I'd be into, and I'm sure everyone here either wouldn't care or could guess that keke, so no worries." Doguso started laughing more, such a weird thing to think, him with a surfacer.

Doguso jogged up to Fara're when she suddenly took off again. "Saw something that is 'interesting' or you liked?" Doguso ask in response to her running away.

Fara're gave him an odd look as he laughed. She did not like the feeling she got from him when he laughed like that. Something told her that this man was not to be trusted. She did not trust him, but she not feel that he was a threat to her right now.

"The demon bonded goat was more of an annoyance than anything else," she said casually. She decided not to mention that same 'goat' was alive again. And that she had used a little trick to put him under her power.

She twirled around at his last comment. "Oh nothing much. Just though I saw something interesting. But was not as interesting as I thought it was."

She stood there and thought for a moment. Her gaze looked up the cieling of the cavern. It felt odd not so see the sky above her. But she figured it felt just as odd for the people here to not have a roof over them when they ventured to the surface.

She turned and smiled at him again. "Actually I should get heading back home," she said. "No need to walk me back. I will be back to the surface in just a few moments. Bye now"

She gave him a wink and a friendly wave. Moments later the shadows enveloped her and she sank into them. Nothing was left but empty shadows. It was not long after that she stepped out of some shadows at the Moon Keep. She would have to be careful of the Doguso, he could end up being a threat later on.
