| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Ancar had done his job, albeit poorly, but still done nonetheless. His divinations were likely mostly to blame, though. The demon was either not as focused on his goals as Rith had hoped or he did well to hide it. A pity divinations were not entirely flawless, though it was a small matter now and Rith had already planned how to make up for the lost ground. In hindsight it would have been better to have sent Lust. Discretion wants her best attribute, but she always got her tasks done and rarely without exceptional results. Rith had chosen the Hills of Mist for their meeting. Rith favored the bleak landscape and the deep mists. He hadn't been able to note any preferances so he had opted for a location near his guild. Aegnor was teleported without issue to one of the tall hills shrouded in mist. To prevent an unwelcome landing, the tiefling was also removed from his sitting position and stood upright. A bit difficult to pull off, but worth the effort. "Greetings Aegnor. My apologies for Ancar. He was needlessly hasty," Rith greeted from the darkness surrounding Aegnor as shadowy darkness seemed to gather before Aegnor. The darkess forged a tall robed figure who's feature's remained hidden in darkness. The robe it self seemed hardly discernable from the surrounding darkness if not for the elegant purple trim. "I am the Lord of Whispers, but this meeting is more about you than me. I'm in the buissness of making dreams come true. Your potential interests me enough to make you such an offer, but I first require clarity on what your goals truly are." |

"Greetings Aegnor. My apologies for Ancar. He was needlessly hasty," Aegnor was a little surprised to arrived standing, but he was not all to bad with the reaction and did not fall over or anything, the demon sighed and brushed one hand thought his gray hair and pulled of the cap at the same time, he sure hoped that the dark knight from the inn was keeping an eye on Emma, or it was blood to be payed. He then heard the voice as Rith started to talk and the demon slowly turned his red eyes so that he was looking at the tall stranger with the dark cloak. "Greetings yourself, yeah he was a little to the point" he agreed slowly and examined the stranger with the eyes, he seemed to be a person that knew what he talked about...but then again people often made there best to look powerful. "I am the Lord of Whispers, but this meeting is more about you than me. I'm in the buissness of making dreams come true. Your potential interests me enough to make you such an offer, but I first require clarity on what your goals truly are." Aegnor did not speak up against the man as he talked, he listened with a slight interest to the words and thought about them in his mind. He was going to reply the truth, nothing but the truth this time. "What my true goal is? I want to be able to take down my father and let him feel the pain I have felt all these yeard when he left me and ran away like a coward." he started slowly, then he made a pause. "I am sure you already know I meet my father a while back? One could have thought the news that his son was still alive would make him glad...no? Well that coward is still hidding behind a wall of false confidence, hidding behind the illusion that he is powerful. I really hate that man!" he growled softly and sighed. "But I guess somewhere inside of me a part actually wants him to see me, not act like that snobish undead with to much of himself to even see his own feet if he looks down." he stopped and waited to see what Rith would reply to this. |

"Yaksha is a man hated by many. As you say he is indeed an arrogant fool blinded by his own delusions of grandeur. He tries too hard to be everyone's friend, to be liked, to be loved, so much so that more hate him than respect him. Yet, coward may not be the best word for him as his confidence isn't false at all or at least not any more. He truly thinks that he is talented and powerful, now more than ever. Despite all his flaws, unless I am missing details there is little reason for you to hate him. I'm not saying you shouldn't hate him, just that he should not control and consume you through your hate," Rith explained as the mist began to shift and shaped the outlines of a phantom castle. Time seemed to regress. Slowly at first, but rapidly picking up pace and blurring backward through Aegnor's life. Time seemed to stop on the fateful day when Aegnor's world was flipped upside down. The mist outlined the castle and ground. Between Aegnor and Rith was the young 5 year old Aegnor oblivious to their presence. Aegnor would no doubt be able to recognize the moment from looking at himself, if not from misty reproduction of the castle. "So he left you. There are few demons that have the capacity to care for more than themselves, so it's not to great a surprise. Whether he left you out of cowardice, because he thought your mom would save you, or because he thought you were dead is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is that you survived unscathed from the encounter and no doubt have turned out better than if you were in his care, yet tell me your thoughts. What your life be like if Yaksha rescued you? Or I am I wrong to assume this is why you hate your father?" Rith said gesturing to the misty creation of Aegnor's past around them. His voice remained unemotional despite the criticizing words. He wondered if it was ever a question truly thought of, but often times it wasn't in similar situations. The illusion would illustrate Aegnor's thoughts and words, even if they were most unrealistic. |

Aegnor listened to what Rith said, he did not say anything right away and waited until the man was done before he started to talk himself. He watched the event from his passed as they where shown before his eyes, but the demon did not reach much and he just looked at them without much care. He had dreamt about these events since he was a little boy, he knew why he hated his father and he wanted him to feel the same kind of pain that Aegnor was forced to feel all days of his life since he was left to root alone, lost. "My father is a coward, not because of what he did all those yeard ago...yes he was a coward to leave and not check if I was dead. But a coward because he could not take even the smallest piece of the blame and threw it all at my mother. Sure I know she was a terrible and powerful woman in her time, she was evil and cared for nothing but her own looks and power." he sighed and shook his head. "She died, I know she is back in some form....but it was not she was left me. I would have forgiven him you know....I admitt I would have, but the way he acted to me in such an arrogant manner made me furious. Then he claim that he has the right to judge me?" he shook his head softly, he did not tell about the second reason and his love for Mahea, the way he hated how his father treated her likfe nothing when he was going around with all other ladies.. "In a way I am actually rather happy that he did not save me..." |

It was and yet it wasn't. Curious. Clarity of the situation came, yet this was not Aegnor's deepest desire. If Aegnor had contemplated forgiving his father then it was obvious that this was not the heart of the issue. It was just icing that would be nice to have on the cake. Rith's psychic tendrils dug deeper. "Arrogant would be a better term for him perhaps. He thinks himself high and mighty, incapable of wrong doings and shameful acts. Yet, whether or not he is a coward is irrelevant. Sure the man is deplorable, but why should you waste so much energy on him? He was hardly in your life and the less he is the better," Rith said before pausing. He could already see what he was no doubt after. Rith was not entirely surprised by what he found, but he was no less amused. Love often commanded one's desires. Nevertheless I see that I was wrong. There's clearly something more you desire, than your father getting what he has coming to him. Your arrogant father is insignificant, yet he is an obstacle to what you've come to desire so greatly..." Rith mused as the mist seemed to reshape once more. Rith waved his hand and the doomed castle swiftly became the beautiful meadow that was no doubt familiar to Aegnor. Between them stood not a child, but... "Mahea, perhaps the only woman you've ever truly loved and yet you were together only briefly," Rith said as he gestured to Aegnor's 'queen of the meadow' dressed just as she had been that day with bright smile and a fragrant crown. She was a figment, yet real to touch despite the thin veil of mist about her. "Being with you makes me smile, so you don't even need to leave," The memory smiled sweetly. "Do you not desire her freedom and heart more than your father's downfall?" Rith asked. It was possible he already had her heart, yet Yaksha still very much claimed her freedom. A fact that no doubt made Aegnor no less disgusted with his father. It would be a difficult goal to reach, yet Yaksha's actions might be more of an aid than a hindrance. |

Aegnor listened to what Rith said, the young demon did not say anything and he slowly looked at the other man with his red demonic eyes. He took a deep breath and forced himself to remain calm, it was a feat that was rather hard. But it was true what Rith said, why did he waste so much energy to on Yaksha, well yeah he had his reason. But he did not have to kill his father to do that now did he? In fact the pain showing him that life is not perfect for him alone would be enough to give Aegnor the pleasure to see him in pain. Teach him what a fool he was, without any love for anything at all. He claimed he loved and yet he threw things away like nothing when that time came. Mahea was not going to be used any longer, if Aegnor had to kill his father to let her live life freely...then he would do so. The dark warrior watched the mist around them change and he knew the next scene when he saw it, he closed his hand hard and made a rather angry face. The face did soften a little as he saw the image of Mahea and Aegnor looked at her without saying anything. He then glanced to Rith when he talked. "Get her away, I do not want you to play around with her from my memories..." he said with a serious voice and looked away from the image. "I want her to understand that my father is not good for her, she is never going to be fully happy with him...he is just going to keep using her." he bite himself in the lip. "But you are right, she is more important to me then to let my father die. I want her to smile at me....without having to think about my father, controling her...using her" he shook his head. |

Upon his request the mist uncoiled and the illusions faded away, bringing them back upon the bleak misty hill. He had what he needed out of it. He could feel the emotions it conjured and they were vibrant enough for him to tell without words that this was exactly what he was looking for. It would be no easy feat to accomplish, though. He had not yet fully investigated Mahea, but he could tell that her mind was most certainly addled. "Very well. I understand your desire, and I shall do what I can to see that she is freed from his clutches, yet her heart is your job to win. It is possible that you may need to give your father forgiveness to free her. Nevertheless your father has controlled since you learned of him, you will let him do so no more. I will handle affairs with him," Rith nodded. His hate of his father would only inspire more conflict with Mahea and could do more to bind her shackles tighter rather than free her from them. "You father is a powerful man, I will see to it that you get formal training should it come to crossing swords, though I do not expect your training will be used there. In any case we can begin tonight if you are not too tired. Emma is sound asleep and safe," Rith offered. He'd heard Aegnor was good with a blade but had yet to actually see for himself how much so. The most important points had been covered so far, it couldn't hurt to see him in action before sending him off if there was not much left to accomplish. |

Aegnor listened and the man let out a little sound that was a mix of a growl and a humpf. "I will forgive him when he can admitt that he did wrong and not hide behind a wall of pride and arrogance." he said slowly and tapped himself on the chin for a while. "Forgiven can only the one that has earned the right to be so be, even you should know that much" he glanced to Rith and then he sighed and shook his head. "But I will not kill him, and just fight him if he forces me to do so, does that sound like a deal to you?" he asked slowly. He continued to listen and then he raised an eyebrow a little, he sighed and then he thought over the words he was told. "Power does not make a person powerful only, I think that my father has been to cocky about his own abilities." after all pure power did never win a battle. "Well I am not tired, and I sure hope that Emma is safe...or the deal is permanently off" he was very serious as he said this, the little girl was the one thing in his life that he knew he had, a thing he was close to and that actually came to him and not the other way around. He still remembered the day when they had first meet, she had searched protection from him without knowing what he was. |

"Understandable, yet Yaksha does value family, at some level. If he is willing to give up Mahea to please his son, I may be able to convince him to admit to his failings, though even the act itself could be looked at as such a plea for forgiveness. He may not love her as much as you do, yet in his own strange way... he does love Mahea. Once again it's only a possibility, and not a likely one. So long as you do not seek adversity with your father, all shall be well. Mahea is no fan of seeing her master hated," Rith explained in hopes showing him that all mentioned were steps towards Aegnor's goal. There was no question of deal or no deal. "Put you mind at ease. Nothing shall happen to Emma so long as she is in my care. I invite you to leave her in my care as you deem necessary. There are after all places where little girls need not follow you," Rith offered. A small hindrance, but it was important to Aegnor and Rith was not a fan of Important things being stolen from those in his care. "What you say of power is true. Combat prowess does not always win a fight. For this reason your training will extend beyond it. Tonight though I will merely observe where your combat prowess stands," Rith replied before the mist stirred once more. The mist seemed to call upon the darkness of the night and give it a tangible form in the moonlight. The mist swirled around the silhouette as it grew and took humanoid form. It seemed almost to glow in the moonlight, making it's form all the more apparent. The shadowy silhouette was copy of Aegnor, though it might not be immediately apparent given it was dressed in only black. "Tonight's opponent. When you fight it, show me your determination to see Mahea free of Yaksha," Rith instructed as he waved to the shadowy figure. |

Aegnor made a little growling sound and then he sighed softly as he shook his head for a few seconds. "Value family? He did not give me such a good impression to do that" he said slowly and tapped himself on the chin for a few seconds. "I imagine that as soon as something comes up that is to much for him o handle he will run away like a scared little rat just like the other times" he sighed once more and turned the eyes to look at Rith. "But for Mahea I will not try to kill my father, for now. But if he forces me to then I will do it" Agnoe sighed a little as the man assured him that no harm was going to come to Emma, he had a feeling that Rith was telling the truth. He needed Aegnor so there was a reason for him to keep his words to the demon. "I am aware that I will go to places she can not come, very well I trust you to keep her safe when I can not" The dark warrior watched what happened and he examined the dark figure with his eyes as it started to take shape from the mists and the darkness. Aegnor tilted his head a little to the side as he saw a dark copy of himself. "Sure, bring it on" he said slowly as he pulled out his blade and placed himself in a defensive position, he was ready to fight this thing. |

Rith shook his head. "He did demonstrate this to you, though in his own contorted fashion. If he desired he could have likely killed you. Yet that is presently unimportant. I've dealt with Yaksha before, should he indeed run like a scared little rat, I know where he runs to and how to corner him effectively," Rith explained. Rith was tempted to also remind the demon of the little time had actually been around his father, but it was not an important enough point to point out. He was curious as to how Yaksha truly felt about the matter. No doubt he already knew that Aegnor had met Mahea, though the question was how much. This could work to their advantage. Yaksha liked to think himself fair and just. A meeting with the Lich might be all that was needed to resolve the large mess, yet he knew that Yaksha had feelings for Mahea and most certainly fond of Rith. It was good that Aegnor agreed to allow Rith to help keep her safe. Dawn could use a regular playmate, aside from Mahea of course. If all went well he could have them taken care of with minimal drain on his resources. The shadowy figure lunged at Aegnor, beginning to spin the moment it's feet left the ground. The silhouette of a blade wound around in a graceful circle before nearing Aegnor's mid section with the full force of the gathered momentum. Despite it's appearance, the sword was nearly as real and solid as Aegnor's. (bleh, *stabs icky post with stick*) |

Aegnor growled a little at the words. "See If I care, I have lived thought harder things then people like him. You with all your knowledge should know that I am not afraid to die, so saying that makes little use" the demon replied slowly and shook his head. "now your the one thinking the harmful thoughts....not I" he said as a comment to the last thing about cornering Yaksha. The dark warrior did not seem to care at all what his father would think and if he would be stronger then Aegnor, to him he was weaker then most since he was so arrogant and blind to see any flaws in himself. Aegnor slowly watched the figure as it charged at him, before the attack landed a hit he raised his arm and blocked it with his own blade. He focused himself and quickly puched the enemies blade out of the way with a quick parry and a sidestepp. He made a vertical slash down and up and aimed to either cut the creatures arm of or wound it badly....or just wound it. He had been training much with the swords so this was not going to be a problem for him. |
