| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Nireza had arrived at the Memphian falls a few minutes before. She was sitting next to the lake, relaxed, but still alert. There were a couple others nearby who at a glance didn't look too strange, but they seemed to be up to something. She figured it probably wasn't anything serious, so she left them alone, but watched them. After a few minutes, she realized that they were preparing some kind of spell. One of the people seemed to be a master spellcaster and the other, his apprentice. A few seconds after they began chanting, she noticed that something felt evil about their spell. She quickly realized that these men were opening a gate to the Abyss to summon a demon. She stood up and pulled out her wand, ready to fight. However, before she could cast a spell, an imp came through the gate. She heard the master say, "Keep the gate open. This one isn't powerful enough." |

A voice rang from above, along with the sound of wings snapping shut and a mighty impact of flesh on flesh. The red haired male dropped from the sky, pure white wings curled around his entire body save for the extended foot that drove the imp's head down into the ground, wings flaring open just in time to keep him from slamming into the ground, sending him flipping back to land beside Nireza. "Name's Sarin, and I think you picked a fight you can't handle alone," he said, his voice clear and ringing with holy power. His eyes were blazing, but a pale blue light gleamed behind the orange. "And I am Zarinock. Those are not just ANY summoning glyphs. They're trying for pit fiends and the like. They HAVE to be stopped. Such monsters CANNOT be unleashed on this world." "Zarinock, I know." He snarled as a much larger, bony demon came out of the gate, flanked by four more imps. "Great. An osyluth. Damn bone demons. You want the imps?" he asked, eying the bony creature before them, a spark igniting in the palm of his left hand, a full flame striking around his right fist as he clenched it. |

Nireza had been paying attention to the gate and didn't notice the man approach until he had landed next to her. She had her wand out, ready for combat while he was speaking. Right after he finished, she cast a magic missile at the nearest imp, but the sphere of energy released was no normal magic missile, but a bolt of holy energy, which killed the imp on impact. She said, "I think I can take on these imps. Go get the bone demon. And thanks for coming to help." The made a mental note of the circumstances causing the change so she would be able to repeat that version of the spell. She cast another white bolt at another of the imps, which narrowly missed the gate when it was blasted backwards. Her normally green eyes were now a bright topaz, a sign of her hidden celestial ancestry. |
