| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Cassiel smirked at his suggestion. "Dancing sounds perfect," she said. If he made enough of a spectacle of himself, then perhaps it would distract enough people that she could quickly swipe through the crowd and liberate them of a few belongings. "Make it ugly, or interesting, at least amusing. Make sure it's something people will stop and stare at." Her smirk expanded into a wide grin. This was going to be wonderful; she'd never had a team mate before! She nodded. "Then work hard," she said. She lifted a hand to ruffle his hair affectionately, offering him a reassuring smile. "Don't get all worked up, all right? Just go out there and do something that feels right. Sing if you feel so inclined. If anything happens I'm here to catch you, and I'm an expert at this." Cassiel offered him a wink in the hopes it would boost his spirits further. "You'll get the gold you need. Now go, before I decide to be the distractor and leave you to picking pockets when you don't know how!" Cassiel pushed his shoulders at that point, nudging him further to go do as she had directed. |

Kent listened to the intelligent advice that the beautiful Cassie threw at the the inexperienced farm boy. Right then and there, Kent could not decide if he thought Cassie more of a sister like figure or as a possible date but either way, Kent truly was enjoying himself for one of the first times since he had left the farm, possibly since forever. Kent could only hope that their relationship would keep them in contact and pass the test of time but that would only be seen as time went on. For the time being, Kent had to formulate some idea of what to do and fast before he was left standing alone looking like a fool. Not that dancing or singing in the middle of the street would make him look like less of a fool. "Come, gather round everyone," Kent sound as loud as he could with out legitimately screaming and the farm boy with his rather rural appeal soon had a few people gazing at him. Hopefully, this would be enough of a crowd for Cassiel and maybe a few more people would come up as Kent performed for the group of shoppers and workers. "Oh, the sun will come out tomorroooow, Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow There will be sun! And the sorrow 'Til there's none The sun will come out," Kent began to sing in a rousing voice if not exactly in tune until he realized that he had skipped a few lines. It had been an old farm song that his father would lead will they were doing chores and Kent had never payed an awful lot of time learning the lyrics. "...The sun will come out tomorrow, the sun will come out tomorrow," Kent repeated trying to retain the crowds attention for just a few more minutes. |

Cassiel watched with amusement, wariness, and even a glimpse of pride in her violet eyes as Kent went to work and did as she had instructed. She stayed around the edges of the people that had gathered around to watch him, walking around and through them as if she were trying to catch a glimpse of the foolish man as well. Like a predator her eyes scanned the crowd for the weak ones, the ones who neglected to guard themselves, who left themselves wide open to attack. Of all the things he could have sang, it had to be that song? Had this situation not been serious Cassiel might have smacked herself in the forehead. He was dreadfully out of tune, especially for a song that was relatively simple; ugh, she would have to teach him how to sing properly as well it seemed. Going back to work, Cassiel dipped her slender fingers into the pockets of a few gentlemen, taking their pouches of money and moving swiftly on her way before they could notice her. She stopped a few times and got on her toes, still trying to put up her own act, keeping the money in hidden spaces in her dress. There were various pockets hidden within the fabric of her skirt, and she'd been able to hide one or two pouches in her top. Between all the pockets in her dress, Cassiel figured she had earned him more than enough money. Toward the end of his song, Cassiel bounced lightly on her feet, acting enthusiastic but keeping in check so the coins wouldn't jingle and give her away. "Woooo!" she cried, clapping her hands together. "What a spectacular performance! I'm in awe! Woohoo! This is talent right here! Yeah!" Hopefully, Kent would take that as a hint to bow. It was doubtful the crowd would give him any extra money for his 'talent,' but maybe for his bravery they would. The sooner the crowd dispersed the sooner they could count what they'd earned. |

Kent gazed over at the beautiful lady who was Cassie as she cheered him on. He took this as a cue to continue singing so that she could go steal more gold from the surrounding patrons. He did a little chorus warm up he had heard one of the more proficient singers from the neighboring farms had done before belting out another song. Kent's father had sung this song every night before the children were forced to retire to their bedrooms so unlike the other song, the farm boy knew every single word. "Well, sad, small, sweet, so delicate It used to be this dying breed Well I've got a bad feeling about this I've got a bad feeling about this Well sad, small, sure and porcelain You're skin and bones, I'm a nervous wreck Well I've got a bad feeling about this I've got a bad feeling about this." Kent felt that that song had went a lot better than his last verse but by the looks on the crowds faces, he could see that they were not impressed in the least. A few even looked fully disgusted and these patrons along with the majority of the group wandered away from where Kent was leaving just him, Cassie, and a few other men and women who were just loitering around. "Well how did it go?" Kent asked in reference to Cassie's attempts to steal from those watching and listening to Kent perform. |

Oh, no, he was still singing. Yuck. Cassiel cringed just a little bit, but this time it sounded at least a little better. She wasn't sure if she was grateful or not that it was a song she didn't know, but right now that didn't matter. While he continued to distract the crowd, the young lady took the liberty of stealing another few pouches of coins, though only one or two. She was sure they had more than enough to get out of this town and that he had enough to get a room at a tavern and eat something as well. When he finished for the second time she merely smiled warmly, moving closer to him. She clapped a few times, and, as a finish to the act so they wouldn't look suspicious, leaning in and kissed his cheek. Ignoring his question, Cassiel went on, "Oh hunny, I'm so proud of you for overcoming your fear! You amaze me!" Her tone was girlish and adoring and she giggled; she could have sworn she could feel the stars glistening in her eyes, how revolting. Returning to her normal self, Cassiel reached down and grabbed his wrist, tugging him along gently. "Your singing was awful, the stealing was wonderful," she said bluntly. "There should be an alley around here somewhereeee.... ah!" She turned her head, spotting it across the street. It was a somewhat secluded place where they could count their money, which was just what they needed at the moment. Leading him to the little hiding place, Cassiel dropped his wrist and dug her hands into her pockets, pulling out pouch upon pouch of coins and a few pieces of jewelry. Once there were no more on her person and they were set in a neat pile on the ground, Cassiel's shoulders slumped forward and she sighed in relief. "I didn't realize how heavy those all were!" she said. |

The amount of gold that came out of the bags blew Kent's mind. He had not realized just how easy it was to make money with a quick performance and a fast hand. Today, would mark the last day that he would ever work a real job thanks to the wonderful influence of Cassiel. However, Cassie's harsh words had stung a bit more than she had probably meant them too. Even though Kent should have been incredibly happy with the gold that lay in her hands, he was rather disappointed that his performance had been so 'awful'. "Well at least we got a ton of money," Kent said which would sound incredibly out of place in the current thread of conversation that he was having with the beautiful maiden beside him. If Kent realized just how much money was on the ground before him, he would probably be overwhelmed with joy but do to his life on the farm, Kent was rather unsure if the amount of money in front of him would be able to support him. "Thanks so much," Kent said hearty as he attempted to hug Cassie. While her words had stung him, Kent was not one to mull over past statements. |

((ooc: sorry it took me so long!)) --- He seemed not to care how bad his singing had been, but Cassiel couldn't blame him. If she had made this much money after doing something so utterly ridiculous, she wouldn't have cared either! Money was money, and there was no surviving without it. "A ton might be an understatement," she said with a giggle. She really didn't want to count it, since that would take too much effort on her part and she had already done enough for him, but she knew it would be enough for him to get by. "Actually, erm, I'm gonna take some of this off your hands," she mumbled, swiping at one of the medium sized pouches and pocketing it. He wouldn't miss one little pouch, and she deserved some payment! Cassiel offered him a soft expression and hugged him lightly, careful not to get too close or affectionate. He had been working in the stables earlier and the last thing she wanted was to end up smelling like that. "Of course, Kent," she said with a nod. "No problem." She stepped away from him then, folding her hands behind her back. "Sooo... are we gonna go spend it?" she asked with a girlish giggle, twisting on her heels a little bit with a mock-innocent expression. "You can go buy some new cloooothes and foooood... and you could take me with you for being so niiice and helping youuuu..." |
