Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

((Eeep. Seems I'm missing all the fun, what with RL butting in an' all.))

Magic.

The dwarf didn't like magic. Not at all. He didn't particularly hate it as some dwarves did, but he certainly wasn't fond of the stuff. For one thing, you never knew how magic was gonna work. If you did, you never knew how bad it was gonna be. With a blade, though, you always knew what was coming. You always knew which way a blade would cut, how deep it would go, and how much a body would bleed. With a blade, you knew exactly what was going to happen. With magic, you never quite did.

So he growled and popped his neck, but his eyes were aflame with anticipation. Soon - very soon, Hugen was sure - this would erupt into a fully-fledged brawl. Only difference here, of course, was that weapons would be involved. Hopefully, they'd devolve to fisticuffs when they got too weak to raise their weapons - and that's when Hugen would murder them both. Mind, he'd enter beforehand if it came to him. But then some girlie had to go falling off the mountain.

Hugen rushed to the side, but it wasn't out of any kind of concern for the girl; it was more out of curiosity than anything else. He grinned as he saw the terror on her face, the desperation in her eyes - and saw her body tumblin' about on the ground almost out of sight so very far below. Then the body didn't tumble no more. If he'd been closer to the ground, he might have seen the blood that began to stain her clothes and the ground they flapped upon in the wind, but there was nothing he could see in that much detail from here. Anyway, there was still more to see before the end.

So he turned and clapped his hands together, steadying himself for a charge should the opportunity present itself. He licked his lips again, his too-eager eyes gleaming as he chuckled to himself. He was going to enjoy this.
