| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Just when he was afraid that the demon hound was going to tire of toying with him and finish him off Andras was pleased to see a flurry of projectiles strike his attacker. The hits did relatively little damage, due to the already weary state of their users, but succeeded in surprising the beast and causing it to turn away from the wizard long enough for him to roll away and push himself to his knees. "HEY I'm over here!" Andras yelled as the ball of light infused magic grew in his hands. The hound turned to face him and as a result caught the blast in its face leaving it blinded and crippled as the shock wave of light ripped through its body. The beast wasn't quite dead yet, however it seemed to have lost the ability to maintain its physical form in this world under the sunlight and was slowly disintegrating away. Breathing a sigh of relief as his foe hit the ground painfully reminded Andras of his internal wounds. Choking on his own blood only led to more painful spasms, he was now certain that at least one of his ribs was broken. Thankfully he was set free from his choking spasms when his mind and body could take no more and he blacked out. |

The demon ignored the death of his minions he didn't care he had what he wanted in his sights. He kept pounding on Séregon with his masive sword and it was clear that the werewolf was buckling under each blow. He breathed heavily trying to dodge the rain of blows from the demon. 'How much longer do I have. I hope the others help soon I can't hold him off much longer.' True to his thoughts he slipped shortly afterwards the demon smashed his sword away and gripped him by the throat. He felt pain as the demons fingers closed around his throat. He hung limp in the demon's grip and the demon put his sword in the ground pulling out the tablet Séregon had retrieved earlier. Thank you pathetic fool you have been most useful in keeping this safe. Séregon's thoughts were 'Ah damn this isn't good got to do something.' He felt himself flung behind the demon skidding to a halt right before the cliff. An idea hit him. Coughing some blood up he called out."Drive him here.... Cough..... QUICKLY!.... Cough." He didn't look good but he found his sword near by and pulled himself to his feet ready to his part. |

Kaess took in what was happening fast, "Kyzarin go help Andras revive him if you can. We need him and his magic back in this fight. I am going to go help Séregon." With that he charged the demon pushing him back by aiming for the tablet he was now protecting. 'Interesting must be important to him to back off this quickly.' He moved in again with a fake out and scored a hit on the demon's arm. It felt like hitting copper armor. He managed to pierce it, but it jarred him too. 'This demon is ridiculously tough what is he.' The demon grabbed his sword from the ground while protecting the tablet before he was pushed to far back and swung it one handed at Kaess forcing him to back off a bit with a nasty slash on his shoulder with an odd burning which was giving off green steam now. 'Eh it was too easy anyways.' He stumbled a bit then recovered fully. Kaess charged in again as the demon focused on killing him. 'If I can just distract him maybe the others can help soon. He could see Séregon and it seemed like he was barely holding, but at the same time his eyes said just a bit farther. The demon will block any attack magical or not aimed at the tablet. OOC: Closing in on the finally people just two posts to go. |

Nireza saw the demon fall that had nearly killed Andras. She was relieved that his life was no longer in immediate danger, but she knew that he, as well as the rest of the group, would likely be killed if the original and only remaining demon was allowed to survive. She knew that her magic missiles would likely do little against the demon. However, she was not expecting what happened next. She felt the energy gathering within herself. She was soon aware that it was linked to her connection with the wind. She walked close enough to the demon to hit it with a minimum chance of accidentally hitting someone else. She pointed her hand toward the demon, and a powerful bolt of lightning leaped from her hand, striking the creature in its huge chest. She knew that the attack was likely to get the creature's attention. She was standing between the demon and the cliff, but she had enough space to dodge out of the way if necessary. It was then that she noticed the tablet. She realized that it might be the key to bringing down this fiend. She fired a magic missile at it, knowing that the lightning blast would be difficult to repeat, especially since she didn't know how she'd done it the first time. |

The last of the recently summoned demons fell. However, the original demon was still around and would be difficult to kill. Kyzarin realized that his arrows were ineffective against the demon, and that he had few alternatives aside from running, which, he soon realized, was also not a good option. Just then, he heard Kaess telling him to go heal Andras and, if possible, bring him back into the fight. He headed over to the fallen mage. He knelt down and began working his healing magic. He could see some effect, but he couldn't tell right away how effective the magic actually was. He had little experience in the healing arts, so some of it was guesswork. He didn't notice much of what was happening around him, but Nireza's lightning bolt was loud enough to distract him for a few seconds. He made a mental note to heal her hand if he got the chance, although he expected more serious injuries to take his time and skill. |

The demon was looking at the charging half dragon raising his sword for the blow to send this pathetic mortal to his grave when he felt a great blow come at him and strike him and the sword with tremendous electrical force. The shock caused him to open his hand and the sword went flying over the cliff. Nearly missing Nireza's and Séregon's last positions. It left a burning trail of acid in it's wake. Then the demon spun at Nireza and saw the missile coming at the tablet. In response he moved his now free sword arm and crushed the magic missle before it reached it's target. Smoke rising from the demon's body and it's hand he glared at Nireza. It was obviously more hurt than usual and it's glare held hell fire. "Apparently you are something I have to deal with first. Thank you for volunteering to die first it makes the choices so much simpler. The demon then moved at her with terrible speed. Séregon managed to climb to his feat breathing hard as the demon ran towards his new target. He saw Kaess coming from behind. He saw the opportunity coming and moved forward the demon was turning to chase Nireza as she dogged out of the way when Séregon lept on his back. With all his energy he held on holding back three of the demon's limbs and stabbing through the body of the creature from the back. The sword coming out the other end steaming as if being melted by acid. Still he acomplished his first goal. The tablet flew out of the demon's hands by the sword force and the demon even stumbled back. Séregon felt pain as acid burned his skin, but he held on to the creature. Screaming, "Finish this thing now before it has a chance to recover and destroy that tablet it wants it intact." At that moment the demon was weaving a spell and the tablet was slowly coming to a halt and would probably soon return the creatures hands. |

Kaess saw that Adras was being taken care of for now, but there was no more time to think about that. Kaess was already on the move as the tablet flew out and he clawed into the demon's chest. He met less resistance then before and thanked Nireza's lightning for scorching some of the toughness away. He dug deep feeling the demon's heart and crushed it, but the demon did not fall and the tablet was still coming back to it. "What does it take to finish you any way?" he muttered as he unleashed one attack after another slamming the demon closer to the edge of the cliff. Slashing and goring wounds into the demon with all his skill. He would heal the burns from this creatures acid blood latter. At the edge he hesitated since Séregon still had not let go, but he saw Séregon's look and understood the were-wolf had planned doing this if needed. He saw a gash in the creatures stomach and did a full spinning side kick into the creature at full force dodging just under the one still free arm. He felt his sink through as he tore into the guts of the creature. 'That should kill it he thought as he saw the demon fall over the edge. He also saw Séregon had ripped out his sword and was preparing to stab the head. The demon was screaming still as he fell trying to do something, but Séregon was holding on with a death grip as he plunged the blade in the creatures head before falling away into the bottom of the falls to be lost from sight. Kaess was planning to try and swoop down and save Séregon, but they were falling too fast. "Too fast I can't catch him at this rate." He bowed his head at the apparent sacrifice. |

Andras found himself lying in the middle of a vast darkness. "This isn't the real world, so either I'm dead or I lost consciousness after the fight. I don't think this is the afterlife so I must be unconscious." "Impressive young one, not many your age have the talent to channel magic like you can, but you lack in spells to put your magic to use." A voice echoed, seeming to come from everywhere at once. "I have been watching your quest and have taken this opportunity to contact you in your mindspace to propose a deal. You see the demon you are fighting is a rival of mine who defeated me and since he couldn't ultimately slay me at the time left to attempt to conquer your world and gain in strength, fortunately for both of us he was sealed away before he could succeed. Now, if your party fails today he will be released, so if you allow me I will use you to defeat him. You must decide quickly for my ability to forcefully possess mortals is still beyond my reach after my defeat and you are about to regain consciousness due to the healing efforts of your friends" Andras could sense sincerity in the demon's words and decided that it could be the best chance to defeat this opponent. He stood up and opened his arms feeling burning cold magic flow through his body. Back in the real world his body began to float off of the ground as his robes turned black. He began muttering a chant in a demonic dialect as he moved toward the cliff. Bolts of black lightning began screaming from his hands toward the fiend and one bolt streaked toward the tablet. "I will leave you now but you may seek me out in the future." Andras felt his mind regaining control, his robes slowly returning to their normal color, before the massive power granted by the demon ebbed away completely he reached out to slow the descent of Sergeron hoping to save his life yet he suspected his efforts were futile at this point. |

Nireza saw that her attacks had had the expected effects. The demon was now rushing toward her. However, she hadn't been expecting the sword to fly toward her, but she dodged it easily. Nireza had been in this situation before. The demon's momentum would be its downfall, or at least enough to send it barreling past her and give her an easy attack. She stayed where she was until the last moment and then quickly rolled to the side, allowing the demon to pass by harmlessly. She raised her wand again to strike. Just then, she noticed the tablet again. It was starting to move toward the demon. She decided that this was not about to happen. She aimed her wand at the tablet and cast dispel magic on it, which she expected would stop the movement. She then cast a second magic missile at the tablet. She hoped this would finish it off. Otherwise, she intended to stab her dagger through it. |

Kyzarin continued healing Andras for a bit, until he saw the man getting up. He then noticed the color of Andras' robes changing. He stepped back a few feet. What now? Have the demons taken control of him? If him now, who's next? He didn't like the prospect of the group being controlled by demons. He then saw Andras float and attack the demon. Kyzarin aimed an arrow at the tablet and fired, hoping to destroy it. He then turned to look at the remaining group members. Séregon was dead, or so it seemed, but the rest of the group appeared to be more or less in good shape. |

Séregon continued to force his sword deeper into the creatures as he fell into the water the impact wrenching his sword out of the demon's skull. Soon the current and torrential power of the water sent him spinning into the foamy depth. He saw the demon floating a way to, the dark blood pouring from the wounds. 'At least I took that thing with me. I don't know what it would have done, but it is over now.' With these thoughts his head cracked on a rock on the bottom of the and there was nothing but blackness. He welcomed it after a long trip. With one final set of thoughts 'Guess I really didn't need the money from this job, oh well. To bad I never caught that cat.' The body drifted with his equipment clenched in a death grip as the torrential currents carried him to be lost from the search of those above. The demon was stunned by all the attacks, the dark bolt from the dead mage had not helped as the half dragon has ripped into his body. Being stabbed was annoying too and the tablet had been hit by so many attacks. He felt a blade slip into his head. 'Well death has come for the moment, just those fools wait I will be free yet there is more out there and I can't die forever yet. My minions will bring me ba...' The demon hit the water descending and awaiting those who would revive him to terrorize this realm once again. The tablet itself hit by bolts of dark magic, a missile and an arrow seemed to form a mini explosion that seemed to send out sparks or shards into the heavens to who knows where. The dispel magic had no real effect. |

Kaess watched the demon die in the falls bellow and wondered if it was worth it. He also watched the explosion of the tablet. 'I hope this means this is the end of it all. Though I have learned much in these travels at last that evil is dead.' He walked among the group seeing how they were and finding that the rest were alive. He wasn't sure about that dark bolt from Andras earlier, but he would not question it for now. He was too tired. Having not the words to say much he mostly stood by in silence as he healed his own wounds. He would spend several days searching for his friend, but he never found the body or his friend or the demon. It made him worry, but then it was a large place to search. In the end kaess continued his journey always remembering the brave were-wolf he had once known. OOC: This is the end finish up how you like people. |

Kyzarin saw the demon fall over the cliff and plunge into the river below, with Séregon still on his back. He didn't think either of them had a chance at survival. He was glad to see the demon dead, but he hoped that Séregon had somehow survived. First, he headed over to Nireza and said, "Let me heal that hand of yours. Looks like you got injured in that last fight, but from what I saw, the blows were quite effective. That's no ordinary dagger, is it?" Once Nireza extended her hand, Kyzarin began working his healing on it. The wounds hadn't been too serious, and no bones were broken, so the healing only took a few minutes. After healing Nireza, Kyzarin went to follow Kaess as he began his search for Séregon. He helped with the search until Kaess gave up. He would remember this werewolf as a brave friend, even though they had known each other for so short a time. |

Nireza watched the demon's fall. She was glad to finally see the end of this fiend. She thought back to the recent events. They had gone through all this for some treasure. However, she realized that if the demon had gotten a hold of the treasure, it could have caused trouble somewhere else in Imythess. She had to question whether this quest was worth it, however. She had seen two friends die who she had known for such a short time. She was glad to have her hand healed by Kyzarin. She said after he was finished, "Thanks for the healing. And no, my dagger is not an ordinary dagger. It's infused with some sort of holy power, which seems to make it exceptionally effective against demons." Nireza also helped with the search for Séregon and would continue looking even after Kaess had given up. However, she eventually decided that she wouldn't find anything and headed to a nearby village. |
