Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Standing alone atop one of the hills that were blanketed in mist, a woman waited for a master to appear. Wearing a long and heavy traveling cloak, she had left the hood down and her long auburn hair was swept together to cascade down her left shoulder. Her hands were at her sides as she waited patiently. She had seen it in a dream, the scene that played out in front of her. The sun was high in the sky and she waited for the one who would come to offer her teachings in ways that she knew very little of. Some would have considered it fate or destiny that had drawn her to the Hills of Mist, but Lehona could not decide for herself whether that was what this truly was.

It was cold this time of year and though the air stung her face and hands, she made no move to cover them for warmth. Instead she stood alert, her almond shaped eyes kept on the far horizon and her ears kept sharp for any sound of movement that would tell her that the moment was near. There was the occasional rustle of grass, the creak of an aging tree and the ancient scent of spilled blood that lingered in the air which would have made her uneasy if she was not so determined to see her vision through. Something would happen to her in these hills today and not the fallen colored leaves that passed by her feet or even the hint of a ghost would have her turn away now.
