| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

((OOC: I would like to introduce my Merchant! She is full of little plot devices and it is possible to buy random trinkets, clothing and so forth from her. Any non-shop item. I may have more for her to sell as actual shop items later... who knows! ~AD )) The City of Cascadia had changed more then a little from her last visit, but she had heard about the rumors so it didn't come as a shock. Many people milled about where the city had once been, where a huge lake the size of the city now was. There were four different telaporters up to the main square running when she got there. Many with wings had taken to the air. The place was buzzing with excitement. She got quite a few looks as she came up to the portal with wagon, three wolf riders, and two female driders in the wagon. She smiled sweetly at them man and was more then happy to give him the information he wanted. She was here to sell her goods, spider silk clothing and a few finely wrought gold and silver chain necklaces and bracelets. After getting a bit of paperwork done and her own copies, she and her wagon were teleported up to the main city. The city was decorated beyond the simple decorations. Banners and magic crystals hovered in the air. Music filled the streets and there was a stage not far from the teleporter her wagon was now departing from that had tumblers and acrobats on it. She paused to ask a near by guard where it was she could set up shop and he pointed her in the right direction. The wagon made slow progress in the busy city, but she managed to find the spot by a sparkling water fountain and she set up shop. Perhaps, if she was lucky, she would find what she was looking for here. The others were no doubt still on the road. This would be her chance to prove herself. She just had to be very careful and pleasant enough to these ignorant… people. She smiled at a few passing by and looked over at the stage that she had ended up walking around. They seemed to be drawing quite a crowd with their antics. This wasn’t a bad spot. A little bright by her standards, but not bad. Ruby could make this work. She then overheard that they were going to have fireworks after night fall. She smiled. This was going to be an interesting day. |

Eliel walked down the streets of Cascadia, laughing at the festivities. So many people! So many different races! He was at a similar party in Taras not too long ago, but it wasn't quite as exciting as this. True, he had seen Lilith there, and there was little chance of meeting anybody he knew here. All the more reason to make an arse of himself. As long as nobody else could see him, he could do whatever he liked! Gwen walked along beside him, equally happy and almost bigger as Eliel himself. She was nearly full grown. Her mood was helped along by a small drink of ale, of course, as was Eliel's. Eliel chuckled and approached a wagon in the street, seeing a drow woman there. He chuckled as he went, enjoying the music. He was awed by the acrobats, as he was nowhere near as capable of the things they could do himself. Drow or no, he was terrible with fancy footwork in battle, a skill he could use. Eliel approached the wagon with a grin. “Hello there!” He said to her with a wave, looking specifically at the spider silk clothes. “Very nicely made, these. Made in Menzoberranzan, perhaps?” |

Fefnir walked through the streets, marveling at the number of people that managed to appear here. Truthfully, he had never been to a city this large. It was marvelous. He allowed the music in the air to flow into his ears, along with the sound of hundreds of people walking, wagons going, people talking, life happening in a large amount. It was spectacular. His two swords klinked at his sides as he walked, ocasionally tapping a passerby or a passing wagon. He wore his black cloak, the hood down. Beneath the cloak, he wore simple cloths, black pants and a black shirt, along with two black gloves. He watched as the magic crystals twinkled high above, how the other people watched them. There were people decorating buildings, horses, themselves, this was going to be quite some event. The sky above was bright, the sun shining through a cover of bright, white clouds. The day promised to be nice, perfect for whatever was going to happen. There were birds, big and small, flying through the air, singing happy songs in beautiful harmony. He walked with the crowd, not exactly knowing where they were leading him. Wherever it was, it was bound to be exciting. "What's going on? What's the occasion?" he called out to anyone that would listen, to anyone that would answer. But nobody did. They simply walked along, dragging him with them. Oh well, he'd find out soon enough, he thought with a smile. |

As always, flying was something Melmoth enjoyed. From rushing headlong into fights or lazily drifting along with the updrafts, it took his mind off distracting thoughts. The Divschatten, deadlines, current events... Bah. And then there was the party in Cascadia. He'd visited the one in Taras, but how would Cascadia's party fare? Better, if he could do anything about it. He wheeled about to the east and headed for Cascadia. He'd be there before noon and wouldn't miss out on too much. ~ ~ ~ Melmoth hit the ground in a back alley and began running as fast as he could. The guard would be upon him in moments, and he'd have to be away by then. He reached down to his ring, twisted, and was covered by his human illusion bare moments before the guard entered the alley and raced past him, looking for the demon they thought he was fleeing from. Altogether, not a bad landing. He'd escaped and set the guards on a wild goose chase so he could slip away. He adjusted the large floppy brown hat on his head and exited the crowd, to disappear into the crowd. His first stop would be the market, then afterwards he'd look for trouble. Cascadia, Melmoth had arrived. |

A shadow could be seen moving across the sky, but it was only there for a moment and was gone before anyone really had the time to see what it was. Alice calmly landed right outside of town and when she was on the ground and calmly raised her arms and changed herself into her elven form with the green dress and the blond hair. The sorceress calmly brushed some dust of the skirt of her dress and then she walked into the city in a slow phase. Her eyes moved around as she examined the people around her....very many people today. After a while she arrived to the market and it was extremely much people here of different races and standards. Alice moved her gaze around to see if she could see anything of interest. It took her a few moment to noticed something she had seen before...she was not sure but it looked like Melmoth, that boring guy from the guild...well only one way to find out. The sorceress quickly moved trough the crowd and made her way towards the man she had seen. But she lost him in the crowd and gave up...maybe later then "I might see him again, who knows" she said calmly and began to walk in a random direction. "Now let me see if I can find something to my liking here today" she smiled to herself and then she noticed Ruby´s wagon and for some reason she found it interesting. It looked a little off from the rest of the surroundings. The sorceress calmly made her way towards the place with the wagon, it was clear that this woman for some kind of merchant. Alice could see that very well when she saw her the first time. |

When there were parties, both large and small, it was common for people to get drunk. Some did it more then others, and dwarves were especially known/ But even among dwarves, Wargrymm Wildaxe was a heavy drinker. The dwarf was stumbling through the crowd of people who mostly taller then him. But was the dwarf in any way intimidated? Of course not! The dwarf rumbled between the people up to a bar, and tried to heave himself onto the stool. At first he wasn't successful, and that brought a laugh from many of the customers. Wargrymm just let out a "aaaahhhhh shut up!", then finally hopped up on the stool. The bartender came over and said "welcome good dwarf. What can I fill a tankard with for you?" "Give me the strongest stuff ye got, an' make it snappy, please" said Wargrymm. Wargrymm waited a bit, then had a tankard handed to him, full of some kind of beer. "The best brew you'll find around" said the bartender. The bartender started playing with a coin, then asked "so what is a dwarf like you doing so far from the mountains, anyway?" Wargrymm took a drought of his beer, then said "now that's quite the story, good man. You see, I use to be part of a mighty clan, known for ferocity and skill. I myself was in training, you see, and had finished my training recently. If things had gone fine, I would have been a great warrior." "So why aren't you with your clan?" "I'm gettin' to that. You see, after me initiation, I ended up sleeping with a dwarven maid. Then I wake up and found out it was the chief's daughter. Boy o boy. I got the worst beatin' in me life, worse then my father ever beat me. Were ever beaten as a child?" "A little bit." "We dwarves get beatin' alot. It's part of the way we become real dwarves, bones as strong as stone. Now can I get a refill?" |

Fefnir fought through the crowd, barely able to keep himself up on two feet. After a lot of pushing, some shoving, and a fair amount of his feet getting stepped on, Fefnir found himself at the Bar where Artemis was engaging the bartender with conversation. "Hello there..." he said, smiling nervously and scratching the back of his head. He didn't want to bother them, but being alone in a city pulsating with people was even more terrifying a thought. "D'you have any idea what this is all about?" he asked, gesturing vaguely at the street, still alive with troupes of people running this way and that. Fefnir noticed that the bar was strange, the front of it open to the street, allowing the lights from outside to filter in, illuminating the bar in its entirety. It looked vaguely like an open-air restaurant, the well-dressed diners replaced with bargoers, all sitting in groups of two or more, engrossed in conversation. A couple could be found alone, at the smaller table located in the shadowier areas of the bar, sipping their drinks and staring out at the bustling crowd, looks of either depression or glee on their faces. "Some sort of festival or something?" he turned back to the two, hoping they wouldn't mind his interruption terribly. |

In the morning Kaess had gotten up early and done his morning flight he saw the city of Cascadia and flew in for a closer look. He saw the fancy deceration and what looked like a festival or something. This looked like a good thing to do after that fight in Taras. He had been traveling with his friend Celebriel and he flew in to find something to let her fly up hear since she didn't have wings. Reaching the city he manged to secure a hover disc and then flew back down to where his companion was waiting no doubt wondering where he was by now. Once back down he said "There seems to be a party going on in Cascadia want to join me and relax there for a bit? I even got a little something for you if you want to fly up with me." He said blushing and smilling a little as he held out the floating disc setting it floating in front of her. "it really is an amazing site from the sky you know." After her aceptance and after she had climbed on the disc he flew off with the hover disc along side carring Celebriel towards the party in the waterfall city. "Well this should be exciting our first time flying togeather." He smiles a bit wondering why his heart was beating a bit fast. When they got there a little after noon he flew them a bit longer to get a good look at the city. "So What do you think of flying like this?" After that he land them in the city to join the party going on, enjoying the excitement going on. "So anything you would like to do first?" |

Ruby smiled a true smile as a voice reached her and out of the corner of her eye she saw a drow male and a very large cat. Luck seemed to be truly on her side right now. She looked at the drow male with a smile. "Why, yes, most of them are. A few others are from Lith My'athar." She raised one finger then, "But I think I have something that you would have a bit more interest in, one moment." Ruby ducked inside the wagon for less then a breath's length and came out with a wide and flat box. She came over to where Eliel was and opened it so it faced him. Inside were a pair of large colliers, one made of fine black leather and the other of what looked like a wide swath of spider silk. One was black with what looked like tiny drops of blood, though they were clearly small rubies, and the other was so finely made that it looked shear. The color of the violet cloth they were set on showed through the fabric. "These would not be for you, my fine sir, but for your wonderful cat. They are specially made to fit easily and to not cause any distraction or sound for the great creature's movements. Each one has a special magic woven into the fabric itself to enable the cat to activate an effect at will. I was only able to get these two sadly." Ruby set the box down on the table and touched the fist one, the rubies on it flickering slightly in the sunlight. "This one is known as the Vampiric Touch. When your feline makes an attack, its own claws and teeth will become like a vampiric weapon. They will steal the life energy from it's opponent to strengthen and even heal your cat." Her fingers went to the next one, the transparency of the fabric becoming even more obvious. "This is a wonderful thing for a large cat like your own. At will Invisibility. Perfect for stalking pray and even taking such a lovely beast with you where it may not normally be welcome. Each one can be activated or unactivated with a command from you as well as by the cat. Would you be interested?" Ruby asked, taking her hand away from them with a small flourish. ((OOC: one of these would be a prize for you posting here Eliel! There are other prizes, so please interact with each other and what my posts are about!)) Across from the stage were the tumblers were, was a man with a pair of Thunderbirds. One was further back on a perch, it's head tucked under it's wing as it slept in spite of all the noise and bustle around it. The other one was a bit smaller and was perched on the man's hand. His white hair was frizzy and for an air gensi it didn't seem to flow about him too much. His blue shirt and black pants seemed to lay quite still. He stroked the bird and it seemed very happy about the attention. His gaze went to the stage. He smiled. He would be next and the crowed seemed very generous with it's coin for a good performance. Hopefully getting this stage would not put him at a loss for gold. He was out as of the charge for using this stage... The next street over was a pair of stilt walkers who greeted the people below them with funny accents and painted faces. The man was thin and lanky and was passing out tickets for something. The woman was of an even smaller build and she had a satchel on her hip, the strap crossing over to her opposite shoulder. She would reach in and toss candies up into the air, each wrapped in a brightly colored shinning paper that made a whistling sound as they spiraled down to the ground. |

Alice was standing a little to the side next to Ruby´s wagon, she calmly watched the stage as people was doing there performances, but she was not really interest in things like that. She then began to walk around the merchants wagon looking at the different products that was for sale, but quickly she noticed that she did not have anything the sorceress really needed out here. Well to bad then. She could hear the conversation between Eliel and Ruby as the woman showed her things, all of them with cats as users. Useful things...if you where a cat that is. She noticed something in the corner of her eye, peoples in stilts was walking past on the next street...she had not seen anything like them since she was a child. Funny really. But right now she was more interested in finding something that could improve her skills as a magic user, something that if she was lucky did not look that bad on her either. But things like them did not grow on trees these days and the price for them was extremely high. |

There were few things more enjoyable to Oppel than a good celebration, and Cascadia was known throughout the land for hosting some of the most lavish festivities. Upon word of the events of Cascadia, Oppel readied himself to share the joy that he was sure currently overwhelmed the city. Oppel had just arrived at the city, and could not contain a smile that quickly grew on his face at the sight of the colourful and magnificent happenings all around him. He dressed very fancily for the occasion, to support his desire to take part in the excitement. He wore his most recognized cloak that he often wore to events such as this. It was a deep emerald green and he gracefully flowed down and away from his body, giving an intricate, mystical view of his body with every step. The cloak was trimmed with gold that reflected the sunlight and seemed to outline his garb with a certain warmth. His long hair was pulled back and braided into one long braid down his back, and was tied with a gold wire bearing green gems that seemingly accented the circlet he wore on his head made of the same material. Oppel brought a friend with him, and there flapping her wings to his right, Mya also seemed to be enjoying the festivities. Mya was Oppel's pixie, and though she too lived in Norwood, her garb did not reflect it. She wore a lavish dress of pink, red, and silver, and it astounded Oppel that a seamstress could weave a garment of such beauty that looked as though it were made for a child's doll. Her red hair was braided in the same fashion as Oppel's, and she too looked as though she desperately wanted to be a part of the festivities; with a large smile painted on her face. "Shall we Mya? It looks as though we will have a rather good day." He turned to Mya and smiled, and she did the same. Oppel walked quickly forward and joined a circle of adults, clapping a rhythm for a bunch of children who were dancing at random. Oppel chuckled at the children's antics as Mya fluttered up beside him and began clapping as well. The clapping got louder and the adult's began stomping their feet to add a certain creative touch to the rhythm. The children's dancing got wilder and so did Oppel's laughter at the sight. After a moment a young human girl ran up to Oppel and grabbed his hand, dragging him into the circle. Oppel smiled and laughed as the girl grabbed onto both of his hands and began to spin and swing their arms in a playful and fun manner. Oppel had not danced in such a long while, never mind dance with a child, but he could not refrain but having a fantastic time. As he and the young girl continued to dance, Mya seemed to cast a playful spell and what appeared to be glitter shot from her hands onto all of the young dancers and Oppel. The crowd cheered even louder, as the festival for Oppel and Mya had just begun. |

Eliel smiled at her, eyes darting over the collars. He was having a hard time deciding. Gwen did not really need to be invisible, as she was welcome wherever Eliel went in most places. The other was quite enticing, however. It would prove a great help in the fights he had. Eliel browsed over them, smiling. He looked to Gwen, who strode up to the wagon and sat on her hind legs, putting her front legs on the table there. She leaned close to the collars, sniffing at them. Eliel relayed images describing what each one did. He gave her his own opinion and she nodded, sniffing at the leather one. Eliel chuckled and lifted it up tenderly, sliding it over her head. She got down and walked around a bit, sending Eliel a pleased feeling. He chuckled and turned to ruby. “Very well then. It appears we're taking the leather one. How much will that be?” He asked with a smile. Gwen strutted around the wagon, head held high. Eliel laughed and was happy she was pleased with her new accessory. Eliel fished for his money purse, setting it in his hand. His piwafwi shifted enough to show ruby the small house insignia on it, something Eliel had forgotten. |

Celebriel gapped when Kaess showed up on a hoving disk. She nervously climb on with him, as if she did not quite trust the magic in the thing. She glance over to him when he asked how it was to fly like this. "It is nice," she said with a smile. "So you finally decided to take me flying huh? I have managed to go flying once before with Arthur." She then realized she had never told Kaess about the other half-dragon. She shut her mouth hoping that somehow it went ove his head...like everything else seemed to. She let the soft breeze flow through her hair as they flew through the city. It really was quite nice. When they landed and he asked her what she would like to do first she shrugged. After hopping off the floating disk and turned as smiled at him. "We can do what ever you wish to do," she said. |

Wargrymm turned to see the man with two swords who asked him what the festival was about. I'm really not sure actually. I came into town where there was a good lookin' celebration, and I found this wonderful bar. Would you care for a seat?" Wargrymm then got his mug if ale and he took a good drought of it. Wargrymm had grown up with the dwarves who made fine ale. For dwarven brewers, it wasn't just a trade: it was a craft. A brewer could take pride in the ale that he or she brewed, and the best drinks went to the chieftains. Wargrymm had to admit that it was good ale, considering the ale he had had. |

Fefnir chuckled, about to accept the man's offer of a seat. "Well, I suppose that makes two of us. I was just wandering around, travelling, and next thing I knew, I was in the middle of a crowd, seconds away from being trampled." The boy's smile made his face almost glow. Turning back towards the street, he saw pair of stilt walkers, their faces painted and shining. He saw the man passing out the tickets to those that walked by, and saw how the woman threw brightly colored candies into the air. One of those candies, wrapped in a glimmering green wrapper, whistled as it flew through the air. It bounced a couple of times on the cobbled street and landed at Fefnir's feet, glimmering in its wrapper. Bending over, he picked the candy up, holding it up to see it shine. He smiled. "Looks like my lucky day." he said with a smile, taking the seat that the man had offered him a moment ago. Taking off the sparkling wrapping, Fefnir popped the candy into his mouth, enjoying the sweet treat. |
