| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

All the while he spoke Cordelia remained patient, listening to each and every word and nodding at the appropriate times. It had taken him a bit to actually get to the point, since he for some reason felt the need to mock her, but once he had gotten started it did seem that he had important information. Even so, the more he talked the more nervous she became, to the point where her stomach was twisting into knots so tight she was nearly nauseous. Cordelia moved back a bit and leaned against the door, almost dizzy. What sort of answer was she supposed to give him, what sort of choice did she have? She didn’t have any choice, that’s what it was; she was backed into a corner from all directions and the only chance she had to get out of it was to accept what Shagarez had said and take advantage of the knowledge. Easier said than done. “… Now, I deserve a thank you.” Cordelia’s eyes widened for a moment before narrowing into a glare. She chewed on the inside of her lip, a quiet, reluctant sort of growl coming from her throat while she wondered if she should indulge him or not. She supposed he deserved to be thanked – after all, he had told her everything he knew and probably would serve a purpose – but now that she had the information, of what use was he anymore to her? She could have just turned around and walked right back into her house in full confidence now that she knew what she had to do, even if she wasn’t quite sure how she was going to go about things just yet. If she did that though it was doubtful Shagarez would be very happy… and she didn’t exactly need anymore people who wanted her head. Her lower lip trembled somewhat as she tried to coax the words out of her throat. Surely he understood how difficult this was for her to do in a genuine fashion; he knew how stubborn and difficult she was. Clearing her throat and shutting her eyes tightly, almost as if this pained her, Cordelia finally opened her mouth to squeak out the words: “Thank you for your help.” Once that was done her eyes popped open again and she winced somewhat, adding it just for an extra, overdramatic affect. Cordelia sighed then and allowed her shoulders to slump forward a bit, trying to relieve some of the tension building inside of her. It didn’t work very well however and Cordelia unfolded her arms, proceeding to run a single hand through her hair and offered a tiny, hardly noticeable smile. “Really though… thanks.” Oh dear. Being this nice actually stung somewhat. “I just hope it actually works. You know, that whole… ‘love, realization, compassion’ crap. I’m not very good at it and I doubt Manic will even buy into it unless I get all sincere. In fact I really can’t even believe you’d mention that. If it doesn’t work… well, then I’ll know who to come after if I live, now won’t I?” She laughed quietly, though the dark look to her eyes clearly showed that she wasn’t kidding around. If anything he said proved to not only fail, but hurt her even worse, then dead or alive she would never forgive him. “I’m not sure I’m exactly a fan of him becoming a vampire either,” she added hesitantly, merely so that it was stated. “He’s bad enough already with a demon, how do you think he’ll be once he’s without it and he’s one of us, even without your stronger blood?” She paused to shake her head and roll her eyes before continuing. “Whatever. I’ll do what I have to do to keep him alive and if that entails changing him, then dammit, I’ll do it.” She just hoped it wouldn’t turn out to be a mistake. Arguments between them were inevitable, she had learned that quite a long time ago, but if he ever got angry with her again for saving his life… just the very thought of it was enough to send her over the edge. With a huff Cordelia dismissed the thought, then pushed herself off of her door so that she was standing without its support. She glanced about for a moment before her attention returned to Shagarez, nodding once for no real reason whatsoever. “I think you should probably go. I’ll figure out how to deal with Manic, even if there isn’t really a point to planning this crap.” Cordelia’s hand slid to the handle of the door and she opened it an inch, stepping closer to it. For now, Kaiden was her primary concern and going after Alaina no longer seemed like a good idea. Alaina would either find somewhere else to go, find her father, or return to her home in time once she figured out it was the safest option. “Goodnight.” With that Cordelia slipped back into her home, closing the door quietly behind her and locking it. |
