| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

“I think friendships are things that grow over time, not just something you can ask for.” She giggled a little nervously, never had she been asked something like that before. She waved away his food having eaten already, hunger hadn’t crept up upon her yet. Her eyes searched for Varonen’s unable to express what she felt, but maybe...just maybe he would pick it up in her eyes. She had felt so isolated in the barn it was hard to imagine that the world extended millions, maybe billions of miles to every side of them. Between the two of them she felt they had made their own little world, she blushed at the thought unable to express why she was even thinking these things. She noticed the hardness that had crept into Varonen’s voice, but didn’t begrudge him for it. What was he to think anyway, if he felt the same way she could understand. Instead of trying to cut in she felt like the two men should work it out themselves. Even if she did cut in what would she say or do, boys will be boys seemed to be the appropriate way to respond...at the moment. Samathan’s question threw her complete off guard and she stumbled to understand how it had turned completely to her. “Oh umm,” It was all she could say at first. Thoughts just flew through her head. She did like the taverns. Was this a date? She’d never been on a date? No it wasn’t a date. Just for fun. Wasn’t it? “Umm,” She felt rather stupid at that moment completely unable to answer. She wanted to go on the adventure, to be fair he asked her first....well okay let’s see... “I would love to,” She said, smiling and giggling nervously, still shocked from the question. “But I did say I would go with Varonen....How about when I get back? Is that fair?” It would give her a chance to get to know both of them better. She managed another nervous laugh before turning her eyes down to Cypher and speaking in her head to him, unsure of what else to do. She ran a small finger over his indescribable scales and waited for the response of .... anyone. |

Samathan smiled at her "Well actually I was thinking of taking you now," he said and blushed deeply "but that depends on when you two are leaving?" he drew a little closer and whispered im her ear "Ummm... actually I was thinking of it as a date," he said for only her to hear. He smiled at her softly and blushed "umm...," he held out a warm hand to her in invitation "I don't want to be rude but I have kinda arranged something for you," he blushed deeply again and but the food back in his back pack. There he had said it, would she think him to odd "if you don't want to think of it as a date I will understand," he said for her to hear "it's jus that...I ummm...kinda like you," he admitted. He was glad that she wanted to come with him to the Green Gryphon Inn. He had had it planned already and he blushed a deep scarlet "Shall we?" he asked "I could have you back in time for your journey with Varonen here?" He blushed again and looked to her with a shy, nervous grin. There he had done it, he had asked her out on a date. He blushed scarlet and looked at the ground as he waited for her reply. He had admitted that he liked her, what would she say? Would she think him wierd? He had never found it easy talking to girls, let alone asking them out on dates. "Umm... I will understand if you don't want to come now," he said his blush deepening which she would notice "it's just that...well I kinda have a table for us in the Inn. I'm sorry if you think this is too fast of me, its just that when I heard that you were in town I had to do it Shadeen. I have been wanting to for a little while," he said. Confound it, he was blushing again. |

As the conversation between the two of them had ensued, he felt like he was being pushed further and further from the conversation. Though, what few mentions of him had seemed to raise his spirits slightly; they would quickly come crashing down as the man asked her to join him at the current point in time. So many emotions flooded through him, that it had become far too hard to maintain them, but he still had done it, for her. The last thing he wanted to do was to make a scene, or worse make himself out to be the butt end of this whole ordeal. After all, it had been her choice and he would have his time with her tomorrow…Or would she still go with him after tonight would be over? The thought had sent a chill down his spine, but he would ward it off the best he could. Absentmindedly his hands would clench and unclench themselves in a spasmodic rhythm, as the thoughts of him and her filled his mind. Would it be another repeat of the last woman he trusted, or was she different…? He didn’t want it to be the same thing over, but there was nothing he could. If he said she couldn’t, what would she think…? Surely it would sway her from him, but if he didn’t, would she think of him cowardly? Shaking off the thoughts again, he would remind himself that they had been far from being an item or anything close. After all, it had only been their first night together, but even that didn’t seem to quell the burning anger he held for this man before him. Relinquishing an exasperated sigh, his eyes would shift between Samathan and Shadeen once more, before allowing a few words to escape parted lips, “Go on Shadeen, have fun. I will return come day break to this same spot and we can leave at that point if you still wish to accompany me. But don’t stay because of me, I’ll be fine. I’ve got a few things I should do anyway…” His words would trail off into the silence that lingered between them. Casting a final look towards Shadeen, he would flash a brief smile as if to reassure her that it would be fine. After all, it was her choice; he would reassure himself one final time. Dropping down to a slight crouched form, he would hold his hands out in a cupped fashion for her to return the dragon to him, but all the while his eyes would never leave hers. Would this be the last time he would see her, or would she be here waiting for him at day break? The thoughts wreaked havoc on his mind like a plague, spearing their way through every single distraction he could throw at them. Maybe it would turn out, maybe… |

“Oh,” The single word escaped her lips before Varonen held out his hands for Cypher. She snuggled the little dragon in her hands before she gently placed him in his owner’s hands. She pressed her own hand against his a little too long before she pulled away. She reached out to Geist and rubbed between his ears. “I couldn’t go long without seeing you,” She whispered to him. She felt a fascination with the rabbit even though he just chewed at the straw while she rubbed his soft fur. She felt a deep regret that the time in the barn had ended but at the same time she felt the bond they had built between them would last until tomorrow. “At dawn,” She smiled, “I promise to be here.” Which would be a feat for her since the morning was her nemesis, or she’d always thought that anyway. She never took her eyes away from Varonen until she placed her hand in Samathan’s and let him help her up. Once standing she removed her hand and clicked to the gray stallion. He plodded over to her and she scratched at his forelock before promising to find an apple for him tomorrow. She lightly touched Varonen’s cloak, letting her hand trail along it before turning to the entrance of the barn. She took only a few steps before she turned around a stuck out her pinky finger towards Varonen. “Promise.” She said, indicated he was to wrap his pinky around hers. She smiled at him. |

Samathan smiled at Shadeen as she decided to come with him, but the way she looked at Varonen made his blush with jealousy. He nodded a polite greeting to the man as they turned and left the Barn "I am sorry to interrupt Shadeen, I just had to see you again," he said softly. As they walked away together, Samathan's hand sought Shadeen's nervously and he looked into her eyes with a blush on his face "Shadeen," he said softly "I have grown to like you since we last met. But...ummm... do you like me?" he blushed deeply after having asked this question. He mentally told himself that she would say no, how could she like him, no one seemed to like him, but he had to tell her the truth "Shadeen when I first met you I knew that I liked you. Theres just something you that intrigues me," he said and blushed again. How did she think of him? He shyly found her hand and nervously held it, giving it a gentle squeeze to show her he meant what he said. |

When she placed the small dragon in his hands, he would rock back to an erect stance, before placing it safely back within the binds of his armor. Where he had intended the dragon would rest up for their long journey tomorrow, but as for Geist…Geist could use the exercise. Once she had finished petting him, a few soft click would escape Varonen’s mouth to call the small rabbit over to his feet. The rabbit would respond, still carrying the chunk of straw with him the entire way. A soft smile would grace his features as he studied the small rabbit at his feet. Knowing that whatever would happen between the other two, he would never be alone. It was a reassuring thought, but one that still held no quell over his others. Though, when she had promised him, he felt as if she would hold true to it. Moving over towards his cloak, he would pluck it from the stall and toss it haphazardly over his shoulder, before turning towards Shadeen one last time. Just then an idea crossed his mind, an idea that would all him to spite Samathan, at least one time in this whole entire ordeal with no repercussions against him from Shadeen. Reaching a hand in through the neck of his armor again, his hand would fish around and roam through the crevices that littered the insides until a sudden, “Ah ha,” would cross his lips. Withdrawing his hand, it would pull out a rather lush four leaf clover. Slowly making his way towards her, he would pause for a moment, completely ignoring the fact that Samathan was talking, let alone even standing beside her. Nodding his head slightly, “I almost forgot…I think you should hold onto this for me...” By the time the last word left his lips, he had a big ole grin on his face. Lifting a single hand up to Shadeen’s face, he would brush a few strands of her hair from her face and tuck them gently behind her ear, before placing the clover there as well. Tilting his head to the side, he would take a step back almost as though he had been admiring it and nodded with a confirmation, “Beautiful, just as I had guessed it would look on you. Now, I should really get going. I will see you tomorrow Shadeen, take care.” As his attention shifted from her and back to the stable doors, he had almost forgotten the rain that had continued its hellacious decent to the Earth. In one final thought, his hand would reach itself up towards the now dry cloak that draped itself over his shoulder, before grasping at the fabric tightly. Pulling it from his shoulder, he would hold it out to Shadeen for her to take, a smile upon his face, “Take this, you will need it more than I. The last thing you need is to get sick before our journey.” Once she would take the cloak, he would begin towards the door and thrust them open before disappearing off into the chaos that continued outside, and issued a slight wave before the darkness consumed his form. |
