Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Character Profile Fields

This topic explains what the character information fields in your profile represent. To fill in your character profile, go to Preferences -> Update Profile at the top of the board.

Name	What is your character's actual name?
Alias	What are your character's nicknames, titles, fake names, or names earned by reputation?
Character Birthday	What day of the year was your character born? Don't put a year.
Gender	Is your character male, female, neither, or something else?
Age	How old is your character, or how old to they appear to be?
Hair	What is the color and length of your character's hair?
Eyes	What color are your character's eyes? Are they shaped differently?
Skin	What color is your character's skin? Do they have freckles or acne?
Height	What is your character's approximate height?
Weight	About how much does your character weigh? If you're not certain of what a realistic number is, then just fill in the "build" field instead.
Build	Your character's physical size. E.g. skinny, average, muscular, overweight, etc.
Occupation	What does your character do for a living / money? Waitressing, city guard, etc.
Primary Element	The natural and/or magical element your character uses or identifies with the most. It can be any of the choices here and in the next section, or something of your own design. Air, Arcana, Dark, Earth, Fire, Light, Metal, Water
Secondary Element	A second element your character identifies with or uses often, but perhaps not as strongly as the primary element. It can be any of the above, any of the following, or something of your own design. Cold, Day, Death, Holy, Ice, Life, Lightning, Magma, Moon, Nature, Night, Poison, Shadow, Stars, Stone, Sun, Time, Wind
Link to Inventory	It is mandatory that you keep all the items / prizes that your character possesses in one topic and that you put the link to that topic in this profile field.
Link to Alt Registry	It is mandatory that you keep all of your alternate accounts in one topic and that you put the link to that topic in this profile field.
Link to Extended Description	If you write a full description of your character then you should put the link to it in this profile field.
Link to Blog	If you have enabled your blog (Preferences -> My Blog) then we recommend putting a link to it here so that people can easily find it.
