Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Stallion Thunder stood by the lakes edge and stared into the lake. It was cold but he couldn't really feel it he coudln't feel anything anymore except hunger. Its what drove him, he came here to escape that. The land here is so dark and quiet you don't have to think about feeding you could just be alone and think. He wasn't keen on thinking right now, he was trying to remember anything he could.

One day he just had woken up and was by himself with no memory or feeling, except a burning hunger. Maybe he had not fed in such a long time he suffered Amnesia? The only memory he has is that of a name, Stallion Thunder, and he wasn't even sure it was his.

He watched a stick float up to the shore. He spoke aloud to himself "Why can't I remember anything?" He sat down on the shore and stared farther into the lake.

Serenity sat watching this creature. She didn't really know why. She just waited, as if to see what he would do next. Usually, any member of her clan would walk right up to the person and start a conversation, and by the end have the person joining them for a drink of ale. She would not, for she was not like them. She decided to take her leave. She stood and went to leave when a twig snapped under her left foot, it was a sound that would not go unnoticed. "Damn." She muttered. Serenity was unsure of how he'd react, so her first instinct was to run. So, she did.

A slight breeze blew, normally it would chill him to the bone but this time the breeze carried something more then just a cold, it carried a smell... of an undead. Stallion Thunder hears a loud snap and twisted around quickly. He saw a figure running away in another direction much faster then a human, or any other native creatures of the Underdark.

He got up quickly, and started running after the dark figure. She was fast, but he was faster, he began to catch up as he jumped over objects on the ground he had no time to slow down to see what he was jumping. He was sighted on this figure, he had only one place to be alone and she had ruined it for him. He was going to make her pay for disturbing him. He unsheathed his Two-Handed Sword and ran letting it drag on the ground. "Why did you Disturb me creature of the night?"

"I...I...." She had no idea what to say, her only instinct was to run but that wasn't possible, he was too fast. She drew an arrow out of it's place of rest in it's quiver and dodged to the right while doing a 180 degree turn, then stopped. She was facing him now, her aim fixed on his heart. She didn't care about the pain her feet felt, after all, she wore no protection on them so they were bloody and dirty from running across all the stones and twigs. Her hair was tossed by the wind, and her heart was weak from lack of blood. She had to face him though, she couldn't run anymore. "Take another step closer, and I promise, I will slaughter you! She needed to escape, she didn't think she could kill this one, he was different from the other undead she had come in contact with. For now though, she had to be ready to kill.

His Eyes turned black and he lifted his two-handed sword with great ease. He grinned bearing his oversized fangs. "You are a Night Walker like me... Who am I, where am I from, why can't I remember anything?" He fell to his knees and dropped his sword to his side.

For a moment, nothing happened. A moment later, nothing continued to happen. Serenity pitied the man, she also envied him. To not remember, would be a gift for her, but for him, it was a cruel curse. maybe he'd be better off not knowing, maybe he wouldn't. She lowered her aim, and stepped closer. Kneeling beside him, Serenity placed a soft hand on his cheek. She lifted his chin until his eyes met hers, and spoke softly and sympathetically. "You poor thing. You don't even know who you really are. You have no known purpose, and lack knowledge of ever existing before the beginning of your conscious memory." Without another word, she stood, cast heal on her feet, and walked away.

He had nothing left here, he was tired of the quiet. He decided to follow this creature of the night. He had nothing better to do, so he figured why not. He got to his feet and and picked up his sword. He sheathed it and began to follow her. He didn't care if she didn't want him to follow, she ruined his quiet so he sha'll ruin her lonelyness. He tapped the ground with his finger and a bright flash appeared as he cast 'Detect Undead' on her so he could sense her better.

Serenity had no idea why she was apparently so interesting to follow. She stopped, if he was gonna be sticking around, they should at least figure out why eachother was there, but wouldn't be surprised if neither of them knew. "Well, in that case, come on up here and introduce yourself. There's no reason for you to stay that far back." She waited a moment, and finally remembered how thirsty she was. "What say you to a drink." Her fangs grew as she turned, and smirked in the general direction of her stalker.

Stallion Thunder looked at her like a puppy, with wide eyes and he half skipped up to her. He looked at the ground and looked up at her. "I'm Stallion Thunder... I think, and about that drink...." He smiled and his eyes turned black, his face grew grotesque and gnarled. In a deep growling voice he finished his sentence,"I am very thirsty, and I'd like to know who I will be hunting with tonight." He grabbed the hilt of his sword and his smile grew twisted.

"My name, is Serenity WolfStar. It's nice to meet you.' Then Serenity thought to herself "Wouldn't the family be so proud." She flinched at the cruel sarcasm of that thought, after all her family......... her family was no longer around. She would often do that, well, her memories would. She hated when they ruined a nice night such as tonight, even more when they haunt her in her sleep. A series of flashbacks flashed through her mind, and she fell to the ground sobbing. She felt like a fool but she couldn't stop.

Stallion looked at this sight, of the creature crying. He felt bad for her, he knew how it felt to be hurting without anyone to care. He kneeled down beside her only hoping for her to stop crying. He spoke softly, "Don't worry your not alone, I'm here." He didn't know what to do... but he did the only thing he could think of, but it was something he didn't ever think he would do, he gave her a hug.

Serenity stopped crying and sat there in shock. Was he really hugging her? Why? "Stallion, I'm sorry. A true vampire would never act this way." She hugged him back, she didn't know why, but maybe it was because she finally felt safe, and like she wasn't alone. "No!" She pushed him away and started running. "I can't do this, he'll just get hurt! She told herself. Serenity didn't want to make another friend just to have him die, just like everyone else who got close to her.

He wondered at why he had hugged her, she was right it wasn't anything he should have done. But he didn't feel like he was a Vampire, he wasn't as hungry, he wasn't killed by the sun only slightly burned. Even if he wasn't as hungry as normal vampires, he was pretty damn hungry right now. Even though his hunting partner just left. That, that wasn't going to stop him from feeding tonight.

He stared at the open space as it widened as she ran away. He looked at her running away, he didn't chase after her again because he knew she had to leave this time. He stared at the ground for a little bit longer, then he turned around and headed back to the waters edge and stared in it. His only thought was "Maybe I am supposed to be alone, and what happens if I remember everything about me and then I wish I didn't?"

Serenity stopped, it felt rude for running off like that, he could be lost, and she offered to go hunting with him. She only ran because she was afraid he would get hurt, like everyone else she knew. Well, even if I do leave eventually, he at least deserves to know why I ran off like that. She turned and began to walk back in the direction from which she came, sniffing the air from time-to-time waiting to pick up Stallion's scent.

He yet again stared at the water, and gazed upon his reflection. He kneeled down and touched his reflection. The ripples scattered across the lake and he watched as they disappeared from his sight. He didn't know whether or not he should keep waiting for a person to come to the waters edge, or if he should go find someone.

He waited for someone to come... He was very tired and thirsty and he was ready to head out. But he looked one more time into the water and watched as the water moved. He was always scared of water of the water he didn't know why.
