| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Lilith breathed the darkness into her lungs. Her seemingly nonexistent dark side was beginning to spark. She had been of neutral alignment for too many years. It was time for her to choose one side or the other. She figured she would explore both and figure what was really in her soul. Her whole life had been spent in denial. She knew a darker part of her existed but she had been too afraid to explore it. But she wasn't afraid anymore. The moon could not be seen in this part of the Underdark. It was safer to be in Lith My’ather than other towns of the ‘Darkness’ as the Underdark was commonly referred to. Here a person could indulge in any pleasures the mind could create and be free of prosecution. This was a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. Lilith wasn’t here for that reason though. She was here to meet new people and to learn the trades of the darker side of life. One thing Lilith liked about the town was they didn’t import and export slaves. In fact, slavery was extremely prohibited. It seemed to be the one strictly enforced law of the place. Lilith thought of all this as she walked the darkened streets. She tried not to look left or right so she wouldn’t catch the eye of a stranger up to no good until she was safely inside a tavern where artificial light would allow her to scan the patrons and choose one to safely talk with. Covered in her cloak so her dark colored hair and silver eyes would not show, she approached the big wooden doors of a common tavern. It held no other words except “Tavern” in small letters cut into the wood above the door. Showing no emotion, she pushed the doors open and scanned quickly around. No one looked her direction and that made her feel more comforted. She choose a small booth in a corner where the light was dim so she wouldn’t be noticed. Placing her bag beside her, she reached her hand slowly into the bag and withdrew her dagger. If someone made an unwanted pass at her, she’d be ready. |

Rowen walks in the tavern as he did for days his wings tucked under his cape walks to a stool and sits on it he looks around for any one that looked out of place. Then he looks over and sees some one with a lighter aura. He walks over to her.” We don’t see many like you here.” Looking at the other dark creatures and people in the tavern. He extends one long pail bat like wing to stretch it.” It might not be too safe for some one like you. Looking into her neck remembering he was quite hungry. Stopping his want he looks to the bar tender and waves at him. The almost dead looking bartender pores him a thick glass of what looked to be blood and quickly downs it .” here if you need some where to go I know of some where that you can be safe. I really don’t want there to be any deaths at this tavern it is so hard to stop things like this.” He looks around and sits next to her.” But wile we are here what brings you here?” |

Lilith looked warily at the creature that approached her. She immediately sensed his lust for blood and took him to be a vampire. Seeing his bat-like wing reinforced the thought. She listened while his deep voice spoke of death. Then he sat beside her. She felt uncomfortable being so close to an undead, but did not show it. Emotions were a tricky thing and the best thing to do was to hide them as well as one could. Turning her cold silver eyes towards him, she spoke softly. "What makes you think I don't have some where to be? I may seem fragile, but that is to my advantage. I am quite the ferocious one.” She didn’t want to her the cold laughter that would surely be emitted from this creature’s throat so she continued. “Why I am here is none of your business but I will tell you anyways.” She pushed her hood down so he could see her face. “I came in search of…conversation. I would like to speak with someone who has seen the dark side and to find out if it is a rewarding experience. I don't suppose you would know someone of that description?” She studied his handsome face. She didn’t want his appearance to be a factor in her trust in him. She really wanted to be distant from him, but found herself wondering what it’d be like to be held in his arms. She shook her head trying to shake off the Vampire pheromones he was emitting. She knew they were sneaky creatures and she had adverted them for all her years. She only knew of them from what others told her and what she read. Leery of him, she broke eye contact and concentrated on the empty table in front of her. |

Rowen looks to her as she looks away.” Hahaha you look away from me are you scared that I might cast my spell on you.” He says in a deep almost lifeless voice.” You need not worry I am not one of the vampires you read from in the books or hear of yes we have a bad reputation for being heartless killers and for most of us it is true but not I.” looking at her deeply trying to figure what she is thinking.” And I am guessing that you won’t trust me for a wile that is ok.” I know of some people you can talk about that I know some first hand that it does reword well. Dead men tell no tells but the dead can still be a powerful friend. If you wish to know more about it we need to go talk to the old necromancers. They are quite wise of the dark powers.” He raises his hand and a small pick black ball forms in his hand.” and soon darkness will be your friend.” He smiles a dark smile.” Just a small trick that the wise ones taught me.” He looks over at her intrigued by what happens behind her glowing eyes . |

Lilith was irritated at his calm demeanor. She didn't like to be laughed at and anger flashed through her eyes. She breathed deeply so she wouldn't react and listened to the rest of his talk. He said he wasn't a killer, but she didn't trust that. She felt a deep yearning to trust every word, but she would be more careful than that. She liked the way he talked. His voice was smooth and held the faintest hint of an accent. She briefly wondered where he was from, but that was for talk later one. Right now, she was busy listening to him speak of Necromancers. She wasn't sure if that was where she wanted to go. But she had no agenda. Stop in to talk to his friends and perhaps she would learn something. But first, she wanted a drink of Faerie Spirits. She hailed the bartender and he reluctantly came over. She gave him her order and in a few moments, he was back with it. She sipped it slowly and it felt good to her stomach. It was warming and in this cold weather, it felt perfect. "I would like to see these friends of yours. I guess you would have to go in the night, but tonight I am much too tired. I have been traveling for awhile now. Do you know where I might rest? I would be willing to pay you for a safe house. If you trick me, I will slit your throat." All hint of amusement had died from her voice as she said the last. |

Rowen looks at her lessening to her breathing. She must have came a long way to be this tired he thinks to himself. He wonders where she might be from but disregards it.” Yes you do need sleep. You must keep your strength up. I will take you to a safe house and guard you myself I need no pay for that.” H looks to the bar tender and waves one more of his thick crimson drink.” You need not worry about having to kill me I will do you no harm and wile I watch over you nether will any one ells.” He stands up and throws open his wings letting out a loud deep noise like a yawn. The things in the tavern all looked to him quickly and he tucks his wings under his cloak.” I bore of this place are you read to leave to a place where you may rest and be safe.” He extends his cold soft pale hand for her to grab. He looks into her eyes deeply as if to see into her very soul.” Here we must take our leave.” He finishes his drink and flashes a smile that showed his fangs. |

Lilith did not understand why he was being so friendly. She thought he must have a hidden agenda to warm so quickly to a stranger. She did not like the way he stared into her silver eyes. It made her extremely uncomfortable. She really didn't want to touch his hand for she knew it would be cold and then the reality of his death would be strong. But she didn't feel any sense of foreboding which was odd. Deciding she could always stake him if the time arose, she slowly placed her warm hand into his cold one. She tried not to cringe. "I am...grateful for your kindness. I would think someone of your race would not be so ready to offer companionship." She slide out of the booth as she talked, avoiding his soulless eyes. With the other hand, she grabbed her bag and slipped it over her shoulder. She prayed she was doing the right thing. She knew for sure that she didn't want to sleep with him silently watching over her. It made her shiver just to think of that. She realized the sun would be up soon and he would probably have to find darkness so he could sleep until the night. |

Rowen walked out of the tavern into the fogy dark night and takes a deep breath.” What a beautiful night.” he takes a few more steps and looks back at her.” Here is where I must ask you to trust me. We shall fly to where you will be safe. All I ask is that you trust me not to drop you.” He wraps his arms around her wastes” hold on.” He says with a smile and he bends his knees throws open his wings and jumps into the night sky heading away from the city . he sees where he will land there is an open field near this small house but he rounds the place a few times to see if there might be any one or anything that might be out to get them. |

Lilith didn't have time to have a say in the matter. She grimaced as he put his arms around her and lifted her as if she weighed no more than a rabbit. The night was beautiful, although it was slightly chilly. The moon was half-shaped with stars surrounding it as if to protect it. She was glad she hadn't taken off her cloak as the wind ruffled her hair and made her shiver. He was no warmer, and she disliked that. If she were to be this close to someone, they should at least have warmth to give. But soon she found herself relaxing and allowing him to lead her to their destination. Looking down, she saw where he intended to go. They circled the place many times and it was making her dizzy. She had never relinquished full power of herself to anyone and it was unnerving. She found herself wishing to snuggle under a blanket in a nice warm bed. Sighing, she waited for him to be assured that no one was going to attack them and that it was safe to fly down. |

Rowen sees that no one was there and descends quickly and with a few flaps of his powerful wings he slowed them to a stop and put her down. He then folded his wings under his cloak.” Here we are my lady a nice safe place.” He walks in the house looking around to see if any one had been in it.” I know it is what you are used to but it is what I have for now.” He unties his cloak and sets it on the ground.” There is a bed over there.” He points to a dimly lit room with a bed.” I shall sleep in another room unless you wish me to sleep in the room with you I shall sleep in the floor if you wish me to sleep in the room with you.” He then takes off his shirt and puts on another lighter shirt and stretches letting his wings fully extend and relaxes. He wonders if his presence is making her uneasy he once agent looks into her eyes. What could be going on behind those eyes? He thinks to himself why is he so intrigued by her eyes. |

Lilith had followed the sounds of his voice into the small house. He was wrong when he assumed she wasn't used to such places. In fact, she normally slept outside. She had been in all types of Inns throughout Imythess, although she'd never had her own house. It was extremely small, but it was perfect for her. She watched him take his shirt off, her eyes trained along the skin of his stomach. She was beginning to trust him, little by little. Her stomach rumbled and she recalled that she hadn't eaten in awhile. "If you don't mind, I would like to eat some food first. Don't worry, I have rations in my bag." She quickly took off her cloak, revealing a silver gown beneath it. The only jewelry she had on was a necklace she had received from a friend. It was simply a beaded necklace, but it was comforting to her. She walked over to the bed and put her bag on top of it. Sifting through it, she found the bread and cheese and looked around for a place to lay it. Seeing none, and figuring he hand no plates, she sat on the bed and placed them in her lap. She ate slowly and wondered if he had anything to drink. She figured he probably didn't have anything other than stored blood so she took out her small tin cup and placed it on the ground. She stopped eating and said an incantation over the cup. Soon water poured from her hands into the cup. It was a spell she had learned and it came in handy. She felt his eyes on her and it made her uneasy. Looking up, she spoke, "I would rather you stayed in another room. I can guarantee I will be fine alone." She didn't want to offend him, but she didn't want him watching her sleep either. |

Rowen looks at her with wide eyes as she takes off her cloak and looks away thinking such beauty.” If you wish to sleep alone then you shall.” And he bows and walks t the other room and lays on the bed. Thinking to himself I probably shouldn’t have let my jaw drop when her cloak did but oh well. He pulls some covers over himself and lays there for wile lessening for anything that might be wrong. Hearing nothing he senses the sun coming up. Felling it hard to stay away her feels the comforting darkness of sleep over come him. He only remember his last thought being wow such beauty. |

Lilith watched him bow. She was grateful that he was going to respect her request. When she felt full enough of bread, water, and cheese, she packed the contents back into her bag. She stayed up a while longer, listening to nothing in particular. She felt that dawn was nearing and she hadn't even slept yet. She pulled the covers back and slipped into bed. She had thrown her bag onto the floor, but kept it within arm's length in case she needed her weapons. She had slipped the dagger beneath the feather pillow that her head rested upon. Soon she felt the ease of sleep slip over her and she shut her eyes to embrace the darkness. -- No sunlight streamed in the windows of the small house. So Lilith awoke to the same darkness she'd fallen asleep to. She wanted to know what time it was so she slipped into her boots and walked towards the door. Yawning, she pushed it open and saw that the sun was high in the sky. She knew it must be about three hours past noon and felt silly that she'd slept so long. She shut the door and walked into what she thought would be a kitchen. The walls were blank and she felt the place was quite bland. She thought she might take a walk around and pick some flowers to put into a vase just to decorate the place a little. She got the nerve to peek in on the man and she realized they hadn't even exchanged names. She shrugged. Going back to her small room, she grabbed her bag and left the house. She would take a long walk and perhaps go into town for dinner. Night fall would come in about 4 hours so she didn't have long to check up on the mystery man she was staying with. She figured she'd go into town and inquire about him to the bartender she had seen last night. -- She'd spent most of the day talking to people of the town and still she had found out nothing about the vampire. The bartender had just said he frequently visited the place and ordered the same drink every time. So she had gone back to the cottage. After gathering flowers and placing them in an empty glass, she waited for night in the small room. |

Rowen awakes to the smell of his guest and a different one, one that he wasn’t used to. He opens his door to see her and a pleasant surprise flowers.” Hello my lady thank you for adding to my humble house.” And he smiles at her.” I hope you sleep well and didn’t get to board.” he changes to his night clothes and gets ready to go out.” Do you think that you are ready to go see the wise ones about the ascension tonight? Wile opening a shelf and getting out a small dagger. He starts thinking I wonder if they will help her out. They owe this to me for doing there dirty work. He then ties his cloak around him and tucks his wings under it and runs his hands in his hair thinking I don’t even know the name of the one I am bringing to them she might be there to kill them but I feel nothing and they shall see her true reasons for being there I hope for her sake that they are not to harm them.” May I ask your name I am Rowen? |

She didn’t have to wait long for him to arise. As soon as darkness speckled the sky, he was stirring around. He commented on the flowers which made her surprisingly feel happy. “I am glad you like the flowers. I found them growing around your ‘humble’ house. I am ready to see them and my name is Lilith.” Rowen was an interesting name. She wondered if it meant anything special. She had changed into a ruby colored gown and had cleaned her cloak. She had even gone as far as to put her hair up into a messy bun. Her wings were bright and sparkling, ready to enter the night world again. It wasn’t cold outside so Lilith decided not to talk her cloak. She hoped she wasn’t making a mistake. She also left all weapons in her bag, for fear the ‘wise ones’, as Rowen called them, would detect such a thing and perhaps start something she didn’t want to have to get into. She turned to him and asked, “So how do you suppose we’ll get into the temple of the wise ones?” She figured that was where he intended to go since it was the only temple in town. It was also the most distinguished one. She had searched the town that day and knew it well. She needed the information in case she needed to hide or became lost. “I won’t be needing your wings this time. I know where we are going.” She smiled slightly. |
