Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

" I didn't even know I could get in here, so I'm no better off than you." She walked awhile to where Seele had pointed, wondering what the water would look like here, when she noticed the oddly colored grass starting to grow in patches. It was bright green and glossy, yet soft and nice to walk on. More and more began to show up until there was none of the first, darker grass left. Dei looked up to see the clouds were behind them. The land began to have more movement, with hills rolling up higher and higher the farther they went. Trees became more common, and huge long bushes of rose-like pink flowers sprang up. Finally, after they crested the highest hill, they looked down onto a field of golden barley, swaying gently in the wind. On the other side was a wide, bright blue river winding along next to the field. Dei couldn't wait to leave the strange world, running down the hill through the field aand grabbing Seeles hand, pulling him along. When they got there she eagerly plunged her hand in the deeply blue water, but the only change was her skin changing shades to match it. She jumped back wards when a pillar of water exploded out of the river and showered them with big dollops of water. "What are you doing to my river?" The Nymph demanded, glaring at them. "Sorry, we...we're lost here, and I thought this might be the water-source to our home." The Nymph's expression softened, and she spoke more kindly, giving them directions to a nearby lake that lived with no Nymph. "It's strange, That's supposed to be impossible, but I guess not." she mused, laughing to herself. "Maybe you'll find that to be your ticket home." They thanked her and left, following the path she had described.

Seele sighed and shook his head, water drops flying out every which way. "And I just got dry from the rain too... figure..." He grinned and pushed his hair back with a hand, then looked at Dei. "So those nymphs were stealing your water source? Great... now we just need a way to divert this to the lake back there..." He looked at the blue river and sat down on the edge, dipping his bare feet in the cool water.

"No, I think...they were supposed to be here. maybe the source is really just a portal that lets water through from this world." She looked up and squinted into the sun, seeing a slight sparkle on the horizon. "I think that's the lake, so why don't we go ahead and try it?" She got up and walked to the lake. at the bottom was another orb, And in it she could see swirls of the caverns. Dei waded into the water and swam overtop of it. "Well, ready to go? It might not go to Imythess, but it looks right."

Seele nodded and stepped into the lake. "Let's go for it." He murmured beneath his breath for a monet, then dove underneath the water. He floated in the middle of the lake, breathing even though he was underwater. He... I wanted to try that spell out... He swam a little farther down and waited for Dei to come under too.

Dei dove under and swam down to the shiny shere. She waited for Seele so that they both hit it at the same time. The lake began to twist and warp until it disappeared and the crystal caverns slid into view. "Dang... why can't we just go to and from the same place, instead of landing all over Imythess?" she grumbled as she got up. "How bout you?" she asked Seele, "you still feel elfish?"

He smiled and touched his chest; it appeared solid, at least. "It looks like I am." He reached down and touched a small puddle, and nothing happened; he was not a water nymph afte all. "Heh, yeah. Disappointed?" He stood up and stretched, looking around at the crystals.

"No. Do you realize how much it would suck to be tied to the same springs as you?" she was feeling a bit cross after all of the surprises and starts. "You should probably leave through the river cause it's dark. the things that rise to the surface of the lake at night aren't pretty. There's a trap door in the roof, and there are the stairs. enjoy the swim!" She released into a puddle of warmish water and let herself be washed away with the icy cold stream.
