| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

It was night and an ugly figure came flying out of an inn's front door, disturbing the quiet streets. A loud yell of "And stay out! You're scaring the customers!" echoed down the streets after him. Slartibartfast had been kicked out of another inn for scaring the customers. It was getting annoying being thrown out of every where he went. |

Kari was just walking down the streets, trying to make her way home before it would be completely dark, when she suddenly heard loud noises and a man jumped in front of her, blocking the way. He was very ugly. It scared her somewhat. Perhaps he was one of those bandits. But he didn't look like one. She studied him confusedly. He looked sad, as if he had suffered much. Kari couldn't stand helping him. 'Are you alright?' she said in a worried tone. |

Getting up Slartibartfast dusted himself off and made a very rude gesture at the inn. "I'm fine. Only my pride is wounded." Slartibartfast went towards the inn and was thrown out seconds later. |

Kari frowned her brow. 'Suit yourself, then. I was only trying to be nice.' She turned her back to the man and couldn't help laughing when he was thrown out again. |

Jessoko was wandering down the dark streets, humming to herself, holding her cloak closely about her. She was cold, even though the night air was warm and inviting. This town... She though somberly. This town is so...so...homey, so welcoming. She sighed, and brushed a few of her silver bangs away from her face. She was uncomfortabe in places that were so cheerful, so peacful. It reminded her; reminded her of all the thing she had never had. She was stopped dead in her tracks as loud noises of arguing were heard very close by. She heard ther thump of something heavy hitting the ground, and then a quite, sweet, kind voice. Jessoko tiptod closer; she was curious, and it was part of a bard's buisness to know what was going on, when it was going on, and why. At least, that was always her excuse. She watched as a very ugly man rudely brushed off a young girls offers of kindness and help. She watched as he was again thrown out of another tavern. The Innkeepers must find him... unapealing. How odd. I had not though I would find such prejiduces in such a calm town. She gave a little shrug, and subconsiously reached for her back. I have suffered my fair share of prejiduces, too. Perhaps I should help the poor man... She walked out into the open, her silver hair, pinned up into a bun, shining in the light of a nearby street lantern. She smiled sweetly, the saphire on her forhead gleaming, and she approched the young woman. "Excuse me. kind Madame," she said in her most silky voice. "Would you, if you know, mind telling me what the commotion seems to be about?" |

Kari raised her head, surprised that someone was talking to her. She hadn't noticed anyone coming. She saw that it was a young, pretty woman with silver coloured hair and a sapphire on her forehead. She was older than Kari, but not too much. A serene atmosphere surrounded her. Kari smiled. 'Oh, hello. I didn't hear you coming, I'm sorry. It seems that that man over there is thrown out of the inns whole the time. But when I tried to help him, he said he didn't need my help. It's strange. I would be grateful if someone was trying to help me and I had such... looks. You know what I mean? I assumed he was suffering, but maybe all that suffering has made him that harsh. I don't know...' |

"Hmmm... I can see what you mean. Though I do suppose, if one is so used to being scorned, they assume that everyone, even those who try to help, are going to scorn them as well." Her words were spoken as if she was just peicing together the obvious. However, her wisdome, in this case, ran much deeper. The viens of wise words ran straight to her heart, for she had experianced the hatred for her heritage, the demon that was part of her. But no longer, her wings were gone. I should not remember such things... "Thank you, kind Madame, for the information." She said with a smile, and a slight bow of her head. |

'You're welcome,' Kari said with a smile. 'I'm happy to see that there still are nice people here.' She raised her head to see if the ugly man was still there, but there was no sign of him. Strange. |

Jessoko smilled. "Ah... unfortunatly, in this world, 'a dagger well hidden is the most painfull of them all'. Or so the saying goes." She gave a shrug and a light laugh. "Sometimes it's the nice ones you have to look out for. Not that i' going to hurt you or anything, haha." She added the last part hurredly, followed by an embarressed little laugh. "Sorry, sometimee I let my fancy little saying get the best of me." She smiled at the girl politely. "By the way, may I ask your name?" She blinked. "Oh, how rude of me! I am known as Jessoko Salris'Silron, a Bard by trade." She gave a little florished bow. "And you, Madame? What may I adress you as?" |

Kari laughed heartily. 'My name is Kari Leigh Firestone. I'm a mage. Nice to meet you, Jessoko!' She had never seen such a polite woman as Jessoko before. Most people in Kellen were farmers and so on, they didn't do politeness. Jessoko had to be, just like Kari herself, from a different place. 'So... where do you come from, if I may ask?' Kari said curiously. 'I have never seen you before!' |

"Haha, I hadn't expected you would have! I'm... not from around these parts, really. I'm from a place you've...probobly never heard of." She smiled cheerfully, but her eyes looked like they wanted to cry. Such painful memories... She though somberly, morosely. She snapped herself out of the depressing daze, angrily. Arg! Why do I insist on bringing up such things?! I've forgoten many things, so that I could remember songs and tales I can forget these memories, too, just as easily! |

Renate approached her friend, Kari, but saw she was talking to a girl, so she waited patiently. When there was a moment of silence she approached them further. 'I brought you your drink, Kari,' Renate said. Turning to the stranger, she said: 'I am Renate Villerius, who are you? Are you new to town?' |

"Hello, Lady Renate." She said cheerfully. "I'm Jessoko Salris'Silron, a humble Bard, at your service." She gave another flourished bow. "I was just walking by and saw Lady Kari, here." She smilled again, politely. "And yes, I am quite new in town. I just arrived here, in fact." She chuckled slightly. "Arrived to a most unexpected happening, I might add." There was a twinkle in her eye as she recalled the poor fool being thrown out of the Inn. He really is a very persistent person, however. Perhaps he didn't need as much help as I had thought. |

Renate grinned. 'Oh, really? Have you missed something?' she wanted to know. 'There is always a lot going on here. It's the devil's paradise they say. But the devil is usually busy, so his friends, the pirates reside here most of the time,' she joked. |
