Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

With the new updates coming this weekend (Read the details HERE) Imythess may be able to have a leveling up system because people will finally be able to buy items and not have their post count go down.

Do you think that Imythess should have a leveling up system? Please post any comments or ideas below.

Sample of the Leveling up
(May not include all the features, such as 'Strength' and 'Hit Points')

I think it's a good idea because it'll give people an idea of how powerful their characters are during battles. I also think it will cut down on some godmoding.

I think this is a good idea and I agree with Drizza. People as soon as they get here think that they can 'compete' with people who have been playing a while. With levels it will mean you have to post to 'compete' with older members.

I think it's a great idea mainly because of the two reasons stated above, that it'll cut God-Moding down, making battles more fair, and it gives you an idea of how powerful your character is.

It can also create good RP opportunities, for example if your magic stats are low, you could have an RP battling a wizard on his terms, with magic. From the postings, the stats would go up.

Sounds good, I like it.

I like the idea of leveling up and about not having to change the post count. This will come in time for me to add it before I open my board for RP...yay! Mind if I sign up on the testinofthehacks forum to see how you choose the gender and class etc.?

The leveling idea sounds good but it'll only work if there are a large number of players constantly joining the board. Otherwise new members are going to be confronted with a bunch of 20+ epic characters and be unable to RP with them.

Definitely a good idea, but I think that everyone would still be allowed to RP with eachother, no matter what level. Just because someone might be a higher level member shouldn't give them the right to godmode.

People should be allowed to rp with other people of different levels. It's just some people think they're all powerful and think they can kill a large number of villians without a scratch that really need the hack. But if we can't rp with people of higher or lower levels, it won't be such a good idea...

I like the idea of your profile showing how many posts you have done. But I have to go against the level thing for a few reasons. One: I assume that the exp is going to be based on how many posts you make, so this means that even if you are a really bad rper you can still be at a higher level then others who are better rpers but arnt as high a level. Two: I know everyone is annoyed with the "god-moders' but thats the reason why we have moderators and Admins, to weed out those annoying noobs. Nothing we do will ever get rid of them entirely, but if our Imythess team is a good one then stuff like that should be at a minimum.

If added, no one will be restricted to RP with others. I would never do that. The leveling up has its ups and downs, but I do believe it would have a lot of pluses, such as keeping godmoders down. It could also help with tournaments and such because there could be special sections for each level.

Yeah, the more you post, the higher the stats go. but i think it depends on what class you choose, say mage, his magic stats would go up but some others might not go up as fast

I'm not really sure whether RP stats are a good idea but I think it needs a trying out period, so that members can have a feel off what it's like first, before it's changed for good.

I think your right. I will organize the code and put it up on Imythess so that you all can get a feel for it. It should be up momentarily.
