Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

"How we meet." Vexx repeated. He took in a deep beath as he began. "Along time ago, after I was banished from the heavens for fallening in love with a human. I was engaged in a powerful battle agaisnt good and evil. The battle lasted for months on end, until I was finally able to destory him. With no power left, I rested on the battle field. That is when I meet him. A huge bubble of dark enegry formed around me as me and the demon merged. Ever since that day, we have lived in the Cathedral waiting for strong foes, in order to steal their power."

Her eyes went wide as she listened to his tale. It was quite sad, how he had been banished from the heaven's to live upon the earth and then losing his love to be entrapped by a demon. "That is so sad. Where did you come from? Where was this battlefield?" She was asking more questions now, as she was thinking of his love, she didn't know if she was still alive, if he would want to go to her now as it had been along time from the way he told his tale. "Is there some place we can take you?" Her last sentence was hushed, she didn't know exactly how long it would be, what he was feeling as he had just been through a great ordeal.

Vexx thought for a moment as he cleared his thoat. "The battlefield... I'm not sure... I believe it took place in the forest because I remember that he threw me into a tree." Vexx reached into his pocket and took out a gold coin that once belong to her. "No... She would be dead by now. But i'll be okay though... I think I found someone to live for." Vexx said as he smiled at Ciara. "It's kinda funny how life turns out. You can't really predict what will happen next." Vexx flip the coin at Ciara. "Keep this safe for me." Vexx said as he began floating into the air. "We will meet again but for now I must go and find out some unanswered question." With that Vexx took off, leaving the Ancient city and his new found friends.

Lothlómendil was sad to hear Vexx's story. She was glad that he had someone new though. Who could it be? She smiled and waved as he left the ruins. Maybe they would meet again some day.

She returned to the cathedral, and entered the library. She had, after all, come here to look at the books. There was supposed to be a book in the remains of the library about the unique types of crystal that were found in Imythess. Perhaps she could determine the origin of the crystal that the Key was mad out of.

As she roamed the large drafty library, Lothlómendil hummed a tune to herself. The wethered books looked frail, and had faded from the exposure to the sun. Finally, she picked a few books that seemed to hold promise. She looked around for a place to sit and study the books. There were stone tables and benches that had been smoothed around the edges from years of wear. She sat herself at the one furthes from the source of the drafty air.

Ciara caught the coin as Vexx flipped it toward her and was confused by his words. She opened her mouth to ask questions, she was curious what he had meant by someone new. Before she could get any of the words out, he was gone and flying in the sky. She thought for a moment of going after him to get her answers, but he had promised they would meet again and she believed him that they would.

Looking down at the coin, it was unfamiliar to her and she had felt bad for having it. It was the only thing he had left from his lost love and he had given it to her to keep safe. Pulling out a small pouch, she placed it in the pouch and tied the pouch to the waist of her dress. Lothlómendil had left her and she was now more curious onto where Lothlómendil had went to than what Vexx had meant and she followed far behind her.

Lothlómendil had made it first back to the cathedral and Ciara wasn't sure if she had seen her following but decided to be quiet in case Lothlómendil had been concentrating upon something. Seeing her at the table she smiled to herself as she silently walked over, sitting across from her as she seemed to read through a few books.

Ciara's eyes lowered, wondering what to do now as she knew Lothlómendil was here on her mission to find the pegasus she searched for. She wanted to offer her help, but decided it best that she keep quiet until Lothlómendil had stopped reading. She didn't want to interupt her.

Lothlómendil looked up, smiling when Ciara entered the room. I believe that I have found something that will help me. This book," she said holding out to her, "it has information on a place made of crystal. It is possible that the unique crystals there are the same type that this is made of." She held up the pegasus shaped Key. The light danced off of it as it hung from its golden chain. "I am headed towards the memphian falls where there are the caves that these crystals can be found."

Ciara smiled and jumped up and down excitedly, almost as if she had been asked to go herself. "You are? That is so wonderful! Can I come with you? I do promise to stay out of the way or help you out as much as you like." She nodded as if trying to reassure her and then convince Lothlómendil that whas she said was true. "Please Lomen? You will like the company, I know you will." She giggled out loud and blushed to herself, feeling childish for begging the way she did, but she wanted to help Lothlómendil in her search for the pegasus.

"It would be great if I could have some friendly company." she said smiling. She got up and returned the other books to their shelves. "We must go to the Memphian Falls area. The Crystal Caves are there, and hopefully so is a clue that would aid my search." She couldn't wait to see entire caves full of the beautiful crystal that the Key was made out of. "The sooner we leave, the better."

Ciara again clapped her small gloved hands together. The sounds muffled by the fabric that lay between them. "Thank you thank you Lomen, you will not be disappointed." With that, Ciara happily skipped out of the library in the cathedral and waited outside for Lothlómendil.

"How lond do you think it will take us to get to Memphian Falls?" She tilted her head in curiousity, it would be the first time that she had seen the falls, only hearing fables and legends about the place they were to go to.

Gathering her belonglings, and the book, Lothlómendil headed outside to meet Ciara. Ciara inquired about how long it would take to get to the Memphian Falls. "Hmmm..." she paused a moment to consider. "Well, I don't know how long it will take, but that's part of the adveture of traveling." she said smiling. She was excited about getting out and traveling again.

Lothlómendil retied the belt around her waist, and looked up at the sky. She made a quick observation and then turned back to Ciara. "North is that way," she said pointing to their right. "From where we are, that is the direction that the falls are from here."

Smiling happily, Ciara pulled the hood up over her head once more, the winds blew easily over them as they walked along. She had trailed behind, only to follow Lothlómendil lead but she quickly raced up to her side to walk beside them. The ruins had seemed to lighten with the demon had left, but now, they were dark once more. Something didn't seem right and she was glad that they were leaving now.

"Of course it is. I suppose the time it takes to get from this place to that doesn't really matter." But to Ciara it did and she narrowed her eyes in concentration as she tried to think of how long it would take. A day? One night? A few days? It was her curiousity and eagerness to learn that kept her thinking about it, as much as she tried to push it out of her head.

Lothlómendil could see that Ciara was infact concerned about the time that it would take to travel to the caves, even though she had agreed with her."I don't think that it will be more than a week, but it depends on how we travel. I do not have any other means then by foot, but I am used to cross country travel and very swift. I do not think that I could keep up with Huthi if you were to ride, and I do not know if you are used to running as I am."

Looking up at the sky, she noticed that the sun was nearing the Mothgalad. She loved the sunset, but was not comfortable with being in the ruins in the dark. Well, I think that it is best to set out while there is still light outside. I don't want to be caught in this place in the dark."

Nodding she understood Lothlómendil worry of getting caught in the dark. “I agree, lets make our move now. I know of many strange and unwelcoming things that happen here when the sun and moon are not in the sky.” Smiling once more, her eyes lit up as she gave a gentle bow to her friend. “Please, lead the way M’lady.” A giggle escaped her lips and she no longer felt so mischievous. Now she was ready for their up coming adventure and journey.

“I do hope that we find the answers you are looking for. I am sure that there will be something there that will help you. If not, there will be a clue to help you along your path. There are always clues found here and there throughout out own journey.” Ciara’s smile widened as she looked to Lothlómendil and waited for her to catch up.
