Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

For once, it seemed, Solaris actually knew where she was. A faint smile was stretched across her furred face, as she was in her fox form for the moment. "The forest wasn't too hard to find, just wish everything else was as easy," she noted aloud as she walked along cheerfully.

Kiranni, who on numerous occassions had found herself in this place, was once more in Norwood forest. Ah well, going through it was the fastest way to get where she needed to be. She took a deep breath to calm herself and plunged further into the depths of the forest. Not far in she spotted something moving near the forest floor. It appeared to be a fox, however Kiranni knew it was more powerful than that, possibly a shapeshifter though probably not. It was more likely that it was a single form shapeshifter, one which could transform into only one animal. She decided to head towards it as it was in the direction she was heading anyhow.

The werefox paused in her stroll, head tilted to one side as she carefully sniffed the air. After a moment she continued on, her red flecked golden gaze focused ahead of her as though she didn't notice anything wrong. She continued on like that for a few minutes before she finally spoke, cheerfully. "Good morning miss."

Kiranni was just behind the creature when it spoke so she heard it clearly. It didn't surprise her in the slightest.

"And good morning to you as well I suppose. If you can call it good,"

Kiranni said in rather better spirits than she felt. She crossed her arms over her chest and took a deep breath. She continued to watch the 'fox' waiting for more information, a name perhaps.

"Why would it not be good? The sun is shining, its a nice warm day and there is plenty of prey about...My name's Solaris," she added as an after thought, easily taking the log set in the path before her.

Kiranni nodded in response, scoffing slightly at the mention of the brightly shining sun.

"For precisely the reasons you think the day is good, and my name is Kiranni,"

She said passionately. She crinkled her nose slightly as she looked to the sun as if reminding herself of its unwanted prescence. She cracked her jaw in impatience and had to restrain herself from crying out. It had hurt rather terribly. She scoffed once more to mask her pang of pain.

An ear flicked back towards Kiranni, but Solaris just shrugged and continued her stroll through the forest. "Its nice to meet you Kiranni."

Kiranni continued to follow Solaris, rather tired.

"Same to you,"

Kiranni said in monotone and more to be polite than because she really felt that way. She kicked a rock at a tree hitting it and hearing a soft thunk. The rock bounced away and Kiranni watched it as she strolled. She nearly stepped on Solaris' tail and decided to walk a few more paces behind her.

She glanced over at the tree, her tail beginning to swing in a side-to-side pattern. "So, what brings you to the forest Kiranni?"

"It's the fastest way to get where I want to be. The forest is a shortcut for me I guess. Personally, I hate this forest. Forests in general bother me,"

Kiranni replied looking around at all the trees around her and repressing a shudder. She wrapped her arms around herself as if to try and shut out the forest. She sighed and dropped her arms, giving up for the moment knowing there was no way to escape the forest.

"If you hate the forest so much, why bother cutting through it at all?" Solaris glanced back at her, surprised and curious.

"Because if it'll get me where I want to be faster than I'm all for walking through this disgusting place,"

Kiranni said, keeping her eyes forward so that she wouldn't have to look at any more of the forest than she needed to. She saw a shadow move and stopped in her tracks wondering what it could have been. Now she peered around her looking for the source of the shadow. Her hands went to the hilts of her katanas. She continued to walk still keeping an eye out.

Solaris paused, her ears twitching before continuing on with a shrugg. "Well, It's your choice... Where do you happen to be going?"

Kiranni eyed the fox with slight suspicion.

"Quite a nosy little thing aren't you? Even if I told you, I doubt you'd know where it was,"

Kiranni said casually and with a small smile. She skirted the question nicely, not that she was trying to brag. It was none of the fox's business where she was headed. She figured if Solaris wasn't the prying type she'd drop it. Either way, Kiranni wouldn't answer the question. Her hands still on the hilts of her katanas but her conscience eased slightly she walked a little slower.

"Of course," Solaris replied with a shrugg, though she didn't really mean her answer. If she was curious, she might ask a question or two but she wouldn't really pry into anothers business unless it was necessary.
