| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

![]() Topic Name: Iures, the White City Topic Description: Location Lore Short Description: Iures is an old human settlement in the easternmost region of the Gwilikith mountain range, near the eastern sea. Most well known in trade for its stone and marble exports. The city itself is composed entirely of stone materials, built into a valley's side, with marble buildings and tile roofs. Despite being built into a mountain, the streets are wide, often passing through carved tunnels. Lore In-Depth Description: Iures was formed as a trading post for caravans passing through Gwilikith, offering refuge to traders on the road and keeping the eastern pass relatively clear of goblinoids and other hostile mountain-dwellers. The small outpost drew many artisans, excited by the prospect of the growing business as it gained popularity. Stonecraft grew in popularity, as well as several boats fishing the sea nearby, using the river near Iures to transport their cargo to the city. The growth of Taras as a trading hub severely slowed down traffic though the White City, being much easier to access by both land and sea. As trade slowed down, much of the bustling population faded, leaving behind those who had grown fond of the mountains and river. The people of Iures are olive-skinned with darker hair, a result of the mixed breeding over time of Istani and Southern peoples. Their chief export has become stone, quarrying deep into the mountains. Their foods come primarily from the ocean, the moderate goat population, and the few terraced fields nearby, growing root vegetables. The city is governed by a council of clan heads chosen by each of their own people to represent them, who are controlled by an elected speaker. Each year a new speaker is chosen, though the heads of each clan are rarely changed without just cause, such as death. Clans are formed as loosely-knit families based on the profession each is born into, such as the Fishers, Masons, Tillers, and Shepherds (Fishing, Stonework, Farmers, and Herders, respectfully). These are merely the largest four clans among a number, and as such hold the greatest sway during council meetings. Though they do not hold the population of a trading hub any longer, the people are loud and boisterous, retaining the customs and mannerisms of the traders they had once been. Time and weather has made them more conservative in dressing habits. Newcomers are always welcomed with open arms, though there is a slight racial prejudice against orcs and elves of any sort, given their dealings with goblinoids and drow in the past.
