Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

	Diamond	A well carved diamond. Lucky you, should sell for a good price, but maybe.... Hidden Ability (Click to Reveal) When attached to a weapon, this diamond allows the weapon to strike with the element of the target's weakness, provided the weakness is to fire, ice/cold, or electricity. This ability acts as an enchantment and takes up 1 enchantment slot.
	Coal	A large piece of plain coal. Unlucky you, could be burned for heat, or maybe... Hidden Ability (Click to Reveal) When attached to a piece of armor, some of the damage from elemental attacks against the damage are reduced, provided the attack is with fire, ice/cold, or electricity. The energy is rerouted into the outward part of the armor and contained there for up to 2 minutes. Those who touch or strike the armor with melee attacks during that period of time will take damage from the energy. This ability acts as an enchantment and takes up 1 enchantment slot.
	Armistice	A necklace that offers resistance to damage and negative status effects so long as the wearer neither intends nor performs harmful or malicious action. In addition, when aforementioned conditions are met, others find it harder to act maliciously when unprovoked near the wearer.
	Corona Alta	The crown of a Lord of Leaping. Wearing it enables the wearer to jump ten times higher and farther, though the wearer still needs to be careful about the hazard of falling.
	Winter's Harbinger	A gorgeous ivory spear with a tip crafted of well honed mithril. Winter's Harbinger is heavily enchanted by ice magic. If it strikes a target, it blossoms ice outwards from the tip, slowing the target and making them more susceptible to future damage as the ice shatters and spreads. Dragging the tip across the ground in an arc produces a wave of icy shards and extreme cold.
	Gauntlets of Howling Gale	These gauntlets are crafted of steel, tempered in a mage's ice. They count as unarmed weapons, and as such can only take weapon enchantments. Striking the target with an open palm will knock them back, summoning the power of icy winds to carry them several feet backwards. Closing your hand and pulling it close to your body will summon the winds to drag your target back. The winds are cold enough to deal mild cold damage.
	Taiga Eagle	The Taiga Eagle is famous on Imythess for its excellent senses and intellect, making it a premier messenger animal. Its native lands teach these birds how to handle inclement weather, allowing them to make their delivery no matter the rain or wind.
	Gems of the Warmage	A focus designed specifically for the magic academy's famed order of warmages. These gems orbit around a user's hands, increasing the efficacy of protective spells and acting as a focus. In times of emergency, the gems can power one last spell, but they enter a dormant state for a week afterwards.
	Arctic Soldier's Shield	Designed for low intensity combat, this shield is a web of steel. There are numerous gaps between the thin tendrils of steel, which would normally allow an arrow or blade to pass through. The shield is enchanted however to stop this: it will rapidly form a layer of ice over the threatened area, preventing the attack from passing through. The shield does not stand up well to fire attacks. When the ice effect is unused, this shield counts as a light shield. When the ice effect is partially used, it is a medium shield, and when fully used it is a heavy shield. The owner can maximize the amount of coverage at will, as the shield will only block one small area at a time normally.
	Portable Ballista	This miniaturized but heavy ballista is designed to be mounted on and aimed from the shoulder. A specially designed sight is mounted off the side of the frame so the user can still aim properly. It fires a bolt twice the size of a normal bolt, and has excellent armor piercing capabilities. This weapon does however take longer than normal to reload, even with the custom-designed crank. This weapon comes with fifteen large masterwork bolts that count as masterwork crossbow bolts for the purposes of enchantments. If the wielder has journeyman athletics or better, they can use the portable ballista like a normal crossbow.
	Scroll: White Fang Strike	This is an ancient scroll that teaches the reader an advanced combat technique, allowing them to exceed what is is humanly possible. The fighter infuses their next attack with the power of winter. If they hit an opponent's limb, it seizes up and starts shivering violently, making it very difficult to control and all but impossible to make delicate movements. For example, an arm or hand affected by White Fang Strike would prevent a spellcaster from forming the necessary movements to cast a spell unless they have the Still Spell feat. This scroll needs extensive knowledge of combat in order to learn the technique it contains, and thus requires the owner to be of a fighter class (e.g. warrior) in order to use.
	Graft: Northern Dragon Eyes	A pair of light blue eyes taken from a northern dragon. If grafted into your body, you can see clearly through any weather effects, both magical and non-magical.

1. Graham asked me if the function of Gauntlets of Howling Gale can be used separately. They can - you can choose to pull someone without needing to have originally pushed them and vice versa.
