| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Shalia knew that Seele often comtemplated killing her. Much like she did with him. She had no doubt that one day the two of them would battle. But before that day came she wanted to learn as much about him as she could, and amass as much power as she could. She shrugged when he offered a reward. To be honest she cared little about them. She had been enslaved for nearly 300 years and knew little about worldly good. It might be a part of her was naive to such pleasures, but she had also seen what they could do to people. It could make one grow soft and fat. Although she also did not want the elf think he could order her around without thought. If she made him think that she desired such things, it could beneficial to her. It could make him think he could manipulate her with such things. And if she sold any items she collected, the gold could prove useful for more useful items. "Then let us see what we can gather from the success of others," she said and gestured for him to lead the way. |

The sorcerer was not surprised that Shalia accepted the offer. The tiefling was not a slave to material wealth, but it was clear that she lusted for power, just like him. Although he would be a fool to share an arcane golem with her once the process was perfected, he saw no harm in giving her a small bone to play with. The elf nodded and immediately set off into the smaller tunnel, his golden eyes glowing eerily and bathing the corridor in a metallic light. They soon reached a barbaric door, a slab of wood that had been shoved into the tunnel to bar admittance. Seele looked at it with an amused smirk and shook his head, laying one hand against the barrier. Although the majority of his magic was specifically tailored to be more useful against living opponents, he did possess a few spells that were useful against inanimate objects. The elf closed his eyes in concentration as he mentally recited the incantation, filling a small thrill as the mantra intertwined with his magical power. Oloth nindel zhah Nizzre', elgg ussta muan. Dark Lightning! Raw power crackled across the elf’s hand as he completed the spell, the tendrils of electricity black in coloration instead of their normal hue. There was an explosion as the summoned lightning blasted a large hole in the wooden barrier, the outer portions of the door splintering from the force. The sorcerer peered through the opening, grinning as he saw what had become of the guards. A large splinter had lodged itself in the drow’s back, severing his spine and killing him instantly. Still, they would need to move quickly; he doubted his grandiose entrance would escape detection. Seele led Shalia through a series of shorter tunnels, the elf’s lips pulled back in a grin. They did not run into any living opponents on the way, only the corpses of several mangled slaves and animals. The man they were interrupting, an orc wizard by the name of Palin, had made significant progress in the field of animal transmutation recently. With the supplies and guards of Olis’inth’s Pplace at his disposal, the brute had probably proven to be incredibly successful. Within minutes they had breached the inner chambers of Palin’s laboratory. There were only half a dozen drow guards within the room, proof that their master had gotten lazy in his complacence. Seele smiled as he saw the orc turn towards the disturbance, fear shining in the depths of his pig-like eyes. Both of the magic-wielders knew that the orc was no match for the shadow sorcerer, but surrendering was not in the alchemist’s nature. ”Please take care of the guards, Shalia. Do not interfere with this battle.” The orc raised a wand and shouted out a word of command, but Seele was prepared. He raised one arm and inaudibly recited the incantation for an anti-magic ability, so quickly it would have been impossible to speak aloud. Oloth nindel zhah Faer, elgg nindol wlalth. Dispel Magic! The fireball fizzled out of existence before it could even cross half the distance between them, and Seele grinned mercilessly as he advanced on the orc. |
