Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Diana's greed demanded she accept the deal, wanting to take everything for herself. Some of her own pride agreed, demanding they beat and humiliate him. But her brain said if she really wanted to beat him down, kill him, and make a profit all at the same time she could just pick a fight now. "Zenjirou, I have no intention of playing your game just to humiliate you with the possibility of losing my personal freedom," she said, calmly.

Lifting her sword, Diana moved towards the drake carcass. "A lung and some fangs aren't with that to me," she said. "You want me that badly you can try taking me yourself rather then come up with silly games to make me give myself to you." She turned slowly back to him, showing a mad look in her eye that just dared him to attack, grinning a wide smile that showed of her vampiric fangs. And, letting loose a little, she sang a little song.

"Please, good sir,
do give it a try,
for all I want, good sir,
is for you to die."

Diana had no idea when she was feeling a little crazy why it was she was drawn to singing in rhymes for no real discernible reason.

Zenjirou drew Sanguine Lupo, frowning slightly, "Fine, fine, a fight it is, though just beware Diana Sin, when you serve me, I will not be an unkind master. Just remember, I can't go easy on you." He dashed forward, slashing at her waist, he quickly made it into a feint, instead aiming at her upper thigh. He smirked, the woman was wearing uncomfortable clothing, had no magical augmentations that he knew of, and the last time they fought he kept her abnormal strength at bay with his flashing blade and skill, if she was still that strong he would do so once again. He kept up a short series of slashes, mostly aiming for her arms and legs, his goal was to keep his slashes quick and crisp.

He knew the slashes were to simplistic for Diana to dodge, so let his skill run wild, mixing in feints and quick thrusts, his blades changing directions randomly during the strikes, altering where they would hit by inches, but inches was all he needed after all, a blade is only so wide. He laughed as he fought, "Come now Diana, you simply wan me to die, eh? Well can you kill a demon!?" He let his slashes quicken, he was fighting at full power right off the bat, he was a master swordsman, and he would put Diana in her place today.

Diana's eyes flared and became blood red with the need to kill. Diana already knew he was a better swordsman then she was, but she would not be easy for him to beat by any stretch. Whispering as she turned to him, his attacks already oncoming, she started to summon draconic might to her body while jumping over the drakes body to get away. She was certainly strong and agile enough to make her way over the drake with ease, and in that she could press her advantage on her opponent.

Zenjirou was bringing his best to her? She would bring the same down upon him, for when her spell was complete and she shared the strength of a dragon, she kicked the carcass towards her enemy with a murderous laugh. "You know, I do believe I can kill a demon," she said, with a smile. "Here, let me prove it to you."

Zenjirou smirked as he leaped over the drake, she was buying time, she was summoning that great might from before. He sheathed his blade and drew forth another katana, this blade was meant to take care of the undead and slay ghosts, Diana was a vampire, an undead being, not even with superior strength could she fight a weapon meant to kill undead beings, he looked down at the black blade, orange pulsing veins throbbed as it reacted to nearby undead, almost like a living thing. He dashed to the side into the trees that the drake hadn't destroyed yet, he kept to the shadows, out of sight, using the trees to slowly circle around, hoping that the woman was more concentrated on her spell then on his movements.

He watched as the corpse went flying across the glade, the foolish woman had destroyed the drake's corpse with her might, her gold was gone from her strength. He leaped out from his hiding place, slashing at her side, his blade only a flash of black, he resumed his assault of slashes, thrusts, and feints, sometimes making them double or triple feints, constantly doing as he did before, speed was what it took to kill someone, he was fast and he had greater skill, strength didn't matter when it came to his fights, using the superior length of the katana he could keep his slashes and thrusts fast, he sacrificed power for speed, but with the undead bane katana, he didn't need power.

Zenjirou jumped the drake as she kicked it towards him. Sure, some of the scales would be ruined now, but her loathing of Zenjirou outweighed her need for a bit more gold in her pockets. He seemed to try to loose her, which he partially did in the shadows of the trees. But she was someone who liked to use stealth to her advantage. Her spell complete, now all she needed to do was have him pop out. She moved to the open area the drake had created.

She smiled as he jumped out, able to find him before he struck. He may have thought he was fast, but she was had a lot of her own speed and started to weave herself around his attacks and feints, making sure he would not even touch her and skipping backwards to keep some distance. She was smiling the whole time, and whispering to herself. In a moment she had disappeared from in front of him and appeared right behind him, her sword in the air as she slashed it downwards on his back.

He was quite the swordsman, but she was becoming a rather decent magical fighter, using both physical and mystical skills to her advantage. She was not Zenjirou's superior in swordsmanship, nor Emily's in sorcerer, but she was becoming a rather good mix of both.

Zenjirou smirked when she disappeared, he dashed forward, feeling the air from the blade hit his back, he turned around, sword up at his eye level, poised to thrust at her, "You've learned magic, but I thought you wanted to humiliate me, losing to someone with a better skill in swordsmanship would be humiliating, but to a magic-user... eh, that's just no fun. Also, you're quite predictable, you're a murderer and a thief, so the most likely place for you to appear would be directly behind your target, since we have comparable reflexes I simple ran forward, no longer was I in the spot you thought I was in and your slash hit air. Seems like we're at another stalemate for now." He sheathed his katana, once again taking out his scythe, he hoped the odd fighting style for it would throw her off, he would have to force her to make mistakes.

He used the length of the scythe to his advantage, he used it for quick hooking motions, trying to catch her sword-arm or a leg in it, he mixed in slashes at her arms and side with the weapon, he never swung it over his head though, he kept his motions short and quick. He needed to apply pressure so she couldn't cast magic, that was the only real way she could beat him, he just needed to keep the pressure on. He frowned as he started to throw in slashes at her neck to, hoping to behead her, he was no longer letting her off with nonfatal blows, he was sad, he had to get serious and aim for vitals.

Zenjirou was accurate to assume they were at a stalemate, for the time being. It was true, his skill with a sword made it hard for her to trip him up. However, it seemed he was more worried then he let on as he decided to switch weapons. He might have expected her to be too surprised by the change in style to handle it, but in truth she was thankful for the change. With a sword she had to keep her distance, as his feints would have been her downfall if she let herself get too close. But the scythe?

As she blocked the first blows, she took care to stop the blade far enough from her body so it would not slide off her own and hit her. For the ones she could not get to in time she jumped back to avoid then forward to continue the fight. The problems with the Scythe were that it was not the kind of weapon built for feints or surprises like that. It was a weapon for slicing heads off. Still quite dangerous to her, but his attacks were not quite as tricky. Still, he knew how to use it to keep her back. "Men always like to go for the bigger weapons when they are in trouble, don't they?"

And then came a blow for her neck, and Diana took advantage of it. She used her draconic strength to slash her sword at the scythe as it came, making sure it would knock it out of the way if not out of his hands, and then she went forward and slashed at Zenjirou's stomach. He had a fast blade, but she had a fast body, and when she moved forward her red eyes were lit with blood lust.

Zenjirou looked in shock as his scythe went flying through the air, soon sticking out of the ground a ways away. He felt the pain of the slash across his stomach, it would be fatal if it wasn't treated, he stumbled back, holding it closed, "Heh... looks like... I'm going to die here... I, I don't want to die!" Panic came to his face as he fell to his knees, he just wanted to stay alive, he would do anything to stay alive. That's when he heard the hissing laughter of the shadow, it called out to him, 'Ask for it, and ye shall receive, for a price. I will give you the speed you so want, but you must give me the foot hold I want.' Zenjirou growled, this was horrible, it was either die or further his need of the demon, but if it was that or die, he would gladly become even more of a demon.

He looked down at his blood, "Shade... please help me, give me the speed I want. Take whatever price you want, just give me... what I need." His black skin seemed to tremble and squirm, slowly rapping around his left eye, turning the white orb black, a white rune carving it's way into it. He could still see out of it, but this was a way for the demon to easily see the world to, a foot hold into the world, he might have started something horrible, but he didn't care, he would get out of this alive. He wanted to get to his scythe, and he reached the scythe across the clearing in only a moment, he looked back, Diana was nearly twenty feet away, and he had crossed it in a few seconds, he had left a blur behind that he had just barely caught. He put his hand on his stomach, "Dark Power heal this beaten body." His dark magic slowly stitched up his stomach, just enough so the wound wouldn't be fatal, but he was still in no condition to fight.

He turned back to Diana as he sheathed the scythe on his back, "You win Diana, but I will not give you the prize, just as I have lost my fight, you have lost your gold." He glared at the woman as he held up the sack, pressing it against his body as he dashed away, leaving only a blurry outline behind as he ran. He wanted to kill Diana now, more then ever, losing the fight so easily was a disgrace even more so since he had to ask for help and all he could do was run. He screamed into the night in anger as he ran, leaving behind Diana Sin.

Diana laughed out loud to herself. "Finally got you," she said as he moaned to himself. She readied her sword, enjoying the moment until suddenly he ran at blinding speeds to his scythe. He cleared the distance in barely any time at all. She blinked as he started to heal his wound. She was proud to see that he was unable to completely heal himself and still felt the need to run away.

"Get back here, you COWARD!!" she screamed as he ran away, screaming in disgust and anger at himself in return. He had gotten away from her, and for a moment her victory today seemed so hollow. But it was only for a moment as she realised this time he was the one who had to run away and hide. This time, she had beaten him. And if she ever saw him again, she knew she would be able to kill him. Long as she always increased her power, as long as she never dropped her guard, he would never win again.

She cried out in triumph. She did not care about the loss in profit as much as she did the satisfaction that he had to run away from her. Now there was only one threat she still felt in her heart, and one day she would overcome Emily as well. One day she would crush everyone who stood in her way, and even those who just looked at her wrong.

As she walked back towards her wagon and her pets, all that ran through her mind was what to do when she had overcome all her obstacles. Perhaps it was time she stopped being a smile time murderer, bandit and vampire and thought about moving towards the goal of gaining some power in this world.
